Down the Road Farm
About
Surrounded by the Perry State Forest in the rolling hills of the Hocking Hills region, Down the Road Farm is a small, sustainably managed, specialty cut flower farm in New Lexington, serving Lancaster and southeast Ohio. You can enjoy our flowers seasonally through our flower bouquet subscription, at the Lancaster Farmers Market and local community marketplaces, or our DIY and farm-style wedding and event options and custom design services
Throughout the peak of the growing season, we offer buckets of fresh cut, sustainably grown flowers and foliage for DIY weddings and special events. Each 5 gallon bulk bloom bucket is packed to the brim with an assortment of colors, shapes, and textures for you to make beautiful arrangements all your own.
While we do not offer full-service flower design as busy farmers, we can provide key elements, allowing you and your team to create the rest. We can design bridal bouquets, throw bouquets, or bridesmaids’ bouquets and centerpieces for dinner tables, cocktail tables, the guestbook table, or entry ways.

Team

In addition to farming, Lauren has worked in Ohio's sustainable agriculture community for 13 years in communications positions with the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association. Previously, she has worked as an environmental advocate to help protect Perry State Forest from coal mine development, and enact clean car standards in New Mexico. She has sociology degrees from New Mexico State University and Ohio University.

When he's not busy making it all happen on the farm, Zack is an experienced archaeologist, with a career spanning Ohio, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and the Midwest. He has a degree in archeology from Ohio University.

Ammi is our wild flower, named after Ammi majus (false Queen Anne's lace). She is in her terrible twos, a German Shepard/Blue Healer mix, and a rescue from the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund. She enjoys digging holes and killing moles, chewing anything she's allowed to, lots and lots and lots (and lots) of exercise, and at the end of the day, a good belly rub.
