DJ Wonderboy was created by Matthew McClintic and it began with his love of music. He grew up in a house where music was a constant. His parents played everything from (folk singer) Nancy Griffith and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones. He always loved music. When he was in middle school he helped create a fake radio program in a class and he was hooked. The class had a mixer, microphone and cd player. It was pretty basic but that was when he knew that is what he wanted to do, he just didn't know how. Many years later he was introduced to one of the city's (voted) best karaoke DJ's. This is where he would learn the basics and really get a feel for the business. After spending a few years doing that he decided that he wanted to venture out on his own and that is how DJ Wonderboy was born. He also knew that he wanted to head in a different direction. Karaoke was fun, but not what he really wanted. Although he still holds a part time residency he has been gaining momentum through word of mouth and sites such as Thumbtack and Wedding Wire.
