When it was time to choose my wedding band it, there was nowhere else we wanted to look after hearing my husband's engagement ring buying story (see Jonathan S.' s review). For my wedding band, I wanted mini-marquise diamonds set on a curved band so it would match/fit perfectly to the curved bottom of my custom pear shape engagement ring. We took her expert advice and let her work her magic with her custom jeweler. We gave her only a few months to finalize everything before our big date so we were a little worried about the timing, but she made it work and delivered on time (it was our bad for lagging in visiting her). She gave us updates throughout, sent us computer renderings, and made sure it was up to par to her selective likings. When the custom jeweler finished the band, it looked really nice to us, but she insisted it had to be sent back to her jeweler to get it re-done as she noticed some very minor things that the naked eye could barely even notice. We trusted her opinion and honesty and was more than glad to let her re-do it. She made sure the ring was perfect to her standards and that she herself "loved" the ring, rather than just "liked" it, as she takes pride in every Deja ring.

For the male band, we wanted a matte gold band with polished edges. She found that ring without having to be custom-made and it's honestly our favorite male band style and haven't seen anyone else with a nicer style. We briefly considered a tungsten band cause it's so cheap, but after researching more on it, don't do it! Tungsten or alternative materials are heavier/bulkier and the color itself won't look as clean as gold.

My fiancé showed me pictures of the exact pear shaped style she liked so it made it easier to know what to buy, but made it harder to find; thus, I knew I would have to buy a custom ring. I was always intimidated by ring shopping so I lagged on the proposal because I didn't want to overpay on something I knew nothing about. I did some yelp searches on custom jewelers and decided to go to a few stores for due diligence. One that's heavily advertised on the radio (I'm sure you could guess) seemed nice in the beginning but later kept pushing me to place a deposit even though I wasn't completely set on the ring. They used the excuse that it's the holiday season and someone could claim that diamond if I don't act fast. Throughout my ring shopping experience of going to different jewelers, I would always have the experience at Deja's in the back of my mind because nowhere else did I find anyone as genuine, sincere, or patient as them. They also close a lot later than other jewelers, which helped because I could go after work and after peak traffic hour. I stopped by a handful of times and never felt rushed even when it was close to their closing time.

Paul gave me a lengthy diamond lesson about the 4Cs and not only was he knowledgeable, but he was really passionate about it. He gave me tips on what to look for on a GIA report and why some diamonds are priced drastically differently. He recommended that I find a price range I was comfortable with by choosing specs on Blue Nile so he could bring in some diamonds to select in person. Since they have been in the business for so long, they know diamond cutters that list online and others that sell directly to jewelers. I narrowed down the 4Cs and he sent out calls for diamonds throughout his broad network. Once I selected the loose diamond in person, he then sent it to their local custom designer to 3D print the wax mold with the halo and pavé ring band. Paul gave me confidence in his custom designer and assured me that he would not cut corners in molding the 18k yellow gold and selecting quality pavé diamonds.

They weren't pushy in asking for a specific deposit % and made sure it was something I could afford. They have an independent appraiser that goes to their store every so often and it's free of charge (other jewelers leave it up to you to get it appraised on your own). I was shocked at how big of a discount they gave me based on the appraisal report and the final cost, which ultimately confirmed that I chose the right jeweler.

The ring turned out to be exactly what my fiancé wanted and in her words, she was "absolutely speechless and better than anything she could've imagined." Deja & Co's expertise and recommendations on even the minor details of the ring really paid off on designing a one-of-a-kind ring.
