Cannot recommend David Welch enough. He was our photographer for our wedding in September in Martha's Vineyard and was unbelievable. He is so attentive, caring, and just gets it. He is exactly the photographer you need on your wedding day and made our day so incredibly special. It was raining so much and he still was able to capture our day. David Welch is the absolute man! He’s easily the best photographer on MV and our guests truly loved him so much. He came over and did our table lay photos a few days before during our site visit. Then he also did our Welcome Dinner and then on wedding day he truly went out of his way to capture every detail including a drone photo of everyone at our wedding! From day one, David was incredibly communicative and really took the time to get to know my husband and I (and our dog Shyne!). David navigated and delivered on our vision for our wedding day photography. His work is absolutely breathtaking and truly captures every moment of your special day.

David’s calm, organized and thorough nature instantly puts everyone at ease on a day where emotions are running high and moving parts are at play. It truly felt like he was everywhere at once! He always goes the extra mile to get an amazing shot – from hanging out a car window to capture us leaving our ceremony in a horse drawn carriage to using his drone to snap photos of us and our wedding party atop the Edgartown Lighthouse. David does whatever it takes to ensure you remember it all.

David was the perfect photographer for our last minute COVID-19 wedding on the Vineyard. He was wonderful and flexible from the start, while being professional and safe given everything going on. We loved that he so beautifully captured both the big and more tender moments of our day. He made the entire experience fun and light, even managing to distract the groom enough to capture some truly candid (and not goofy, forced smile) photographs. Our families also loved his good natured and laid back style. The photos speak for themselves - just gorgeous. We couldn’t have chosen a better photographer for our wedding day.

We worked with David for about a year and I can honestly say it was the best decision we made throughout the entirety of the wedding planning process. The level of service, professionalism and ultimately perfection in the final product blew me away. David had everything planned down to the smallest detail and his creativity ensured that the photos we truly our's and represented us as a couple. Throughout the 12 months we worked together David went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and never once pushed back on any request. We could not have imagined a better wedding day and I can honestly say David was a huge part of why it was so incredible.

It was more than what we expected. Was not sure what we would get as we are from Virginia but the professionalism was top notch. David accommodated every wish that we had. The pictures were WOW could not have been better !!!! David was patient, creative and kind and did I mention fun and easy to be around. I am thinking about bringing him down to Virginia for some events as it is hard to improve upon his work !!!!!!

My husband and I took a long time to plan our wedding, knowing what was most important to us- with photography being at the top of our list. We live on Martha's Vineyard and are familiar with several of the photographers we could have worked with; David was an easy choice. From the moment we met him in his studio, David's balance of professionalism, passion and easy going character put us at ease that we were not only in talented hands but that he would help us feel comfortable in front of the camera. His style and skill matched our desire for a photojournalistic approach to memorialize our special day. We wanted to not only capture the spirit of our wedding day but also to have art to share and enjoy for the rest of our days. David and his assistant did just that. From scouting spots to photograph before the wedding to his enthusiasm for our many ideas to his excellent communication with us in the days prior to our wedding- making adjustments for a looming nor'easter- David was able to capture all of the moments and details, yet we barely noticed he was there. He helped us feel relaxed and natural. He kept us on schedule and despite the wind and rain blowing outside, found amazing picturesque backdrops and gave us some of the most beautiful photos we could have asked for that truly told the story of our day. In addition, we did a second photo session a few weeks after our wedding to get the outdoor shots we couldn't do in the wind and rain. David was accommodating, flexible, professional and enthusiastic and most of all, his work is amazing and truly speaks for itself. An absolute pleasure to work with, David captured our wedding in a way we will remember forever. Can not thank him enough!!!

Choosing David Welch as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding process! Firstly, he was extremely easy to work with. We met several times prior to the wedding and went over everything in detail. He answered all of our questions and made us feel calm and confident for the wedding day. On the day of our wedding David was so fun to work with. His calm demeanor totally set the tone. He was extremely flexible while always being cognizant of keeping us on track so we were sure to enjoy ourselves. We had the pleasure to also have him shoot our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Upon receiving the photos, we could not believe the quality and the amount of memories that he was able to capture. We feel so lucky to be able to have such beautiful memories from such a special day. I can't say enough great things about David. He is talented, professional and truly a great guy.

As a bride, finding the perfect photographer to capture our wedding day was one of my first priorities. I knew this would be a struggle when I was researching online and found an immense amount of photographers on Martha’s Vineyard. When we were in contact with David, we immediately knew we wanted him to be a part of our most special day! David proved to be beyond perfect. He is extremely professional, easy to communicate with and most importantly a genuine person who is talented beyond words.
Because we lived in CT, the majority of our communication was through email, text or phone calls. He was quick to respond with creative and unique places to shoot on our wedding day. He was thorough and ensured all of our requests were fulfilled. He even met us at our rehearsal the night before to go over details for our ceremony. Our wedding party couldn’t say nicer words about David. He made everyone feel at ease and was very flexible and fun. One of our groomsmen told us how he’s never had such a great time taking pictures with a wedding party. He expressed how David was so easy to work with and made what could’ve been a strenuous/dull process, a memorable experience.
After we received our pictures, we were absolutely blown away and were so proud to share them with all of our friends and family (many tears were shed ☺). Not only did David take the most beautiful photographs, he was able to capture the emotion from that day and we will treasure that for the rest of our lives. To this day we tell everyone how wonderful he is and how grateful we were to have him be a part of our wedding day! We look forward to having David take pictures in the future ahead.
