Dave Goldstein was ordained to officiate the wedding of a couple who liked his comedy act (Dave has performed across the U.S., Canada, and Europe) and since then he has officiated weddings for almost 100 couples in ten states. Dave has figured out how to do just the right amount of tasteful humor--or none if you prefer--on such a romantic and memorable day. His only goal is that the couple he's working for is thrilled by their ceremony and wedding day.
You may recognize wedding officiant, comedian, and actor Dave Goldstein from one of his many appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His stage act, which has been praised by The New York Post (“...funny”) and The Asbury Park Press (“...his comic star is on the rise!”), is a blend of original writing and inspired live riffs. He has performed stand up comedy on The Comedy Network, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, and The National Lampoon Radio Network.
Dave is honored to perform for our troops and was the headlining comic on a tour of U.S. Army posts in Europe. He was also the comedy auctioneer for The Nelson Mandela Legacy Fund at the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Washington DC and The Carlos Beltran Foundation in New York ($50,000 for Derek Jeter’s cleats).
He’s opened theater performances for Dennis Miller, handled the audience warm up for Drew Carey’s CBS TV show The Power of Ten, been read on the Sports Illustrated website, and was an original member of the improv group Far Beneath Gotham in New York City.
Dave Goldstein offers these services to his clients: Officiating on your wedding day, completely customizing a unique wedding ceremony, and completing and filing your marriage license. Dave customizes your ceremony by meeting and speaking with you two to find out what’s important to you, how you met, interesting and funny stories, etc. Then, he generally blends some traditional parts of the classic ceremony with a humorous but tasteful section on you and whatever else you collaborate on to add: unity ceremonies, readings, memorial candles, cultural components, etc. Dave can make a million suggestions, but he never forgets it’s your day and not his show so he'll include virtually anything you’d like in your ceremony.
Dave has written ceremonies that celebrate so many different backgrounds and traditions with elements including: the Breaking the Glass ceremony, Seven Blessings, Celtic Hand Fasting, Jumping the Broomstick, Varmala Garland Exchanges, Bangladeshi poetry, Albanian prose, Korean themes, Catholic Nuptial Vows, monologues from TV shows and movies, selections from classic literature, Dove Releases, Chinese Lanterns, etc. What's next?

Exactly the ceremony we imagined, and so much more!
Where do we even begin? From our first meeting with Dave over beers at a local neighborhood Irish bar, it was clear there was a real "click". Dave walked us through all the official and technical aspects of how we could build a ceremony tailored to our preferences and backgrounds, taking into account as little or as much of our respective cultures as we wanted. This really helped us relax and stress less over all the typical questions that had been weighing on us. Moreover, Dave was friendly, funny as hell and listening to our story of how we met, began dating and started building a life together, we felt that he really "got" us. Communication was easy and quick over emails following our meeting, and by the time our wedding week rolled around, Dave had produced a charming, unique, hilarious and authentic ceremony that we felt was truly us, including a wonderful reading he did of a text we chose. Dave was also helpful in getting us to write our own vows that we could be proud of, as this is something we kinda stumbled with at first, unsure of the length we'd want. On the day of the ceremony, Dave showed up early and was a cheerful and calming presence, as the minutes leading up to guests arriving were understandably high-stress for us - we briefly ran through the lineup again, chose the witnesses we'd need for the ceremony, and were able to relax before things kicked off. Dave was a total trooper when we hit some snags like the heater failing to work in the middle of a very cold November day - the ceremony itself ended up being so engaging for our guests that no one even noticed the heat wasn't working! After the ceremony, all of our guests raved about his delivery and asked us if we knew Dave from before, which was awesome. We also kept a cool little drawing Dave made of us both, to add as a fun little keepsake in our wedding album. If you're looking for a unique ceremony that will keep your guests excited and focused on what is being celebrated (you two!), along with plenty of laughter and good vibes, we can't recommend Dave highly enough!Sent on 12/05/2018

Where do i start, I really don't know to be honest. Dave is the man he kept our whole ceremony upbeat and relaxing, he has a way with words. My guests loved him and the venue thought he was amazing. The way Dave handles himself you feel as if you are dealing with a close friend not a man hired to marry you. He works with you in every aspect of the vows and ceremony and doesn't make any part difficult. Dave made our day and we cannot thank him enough.Sent on 10/07/2018

Dave is everything you want in an officiant!
Dave is the BEST wedding officiant we could have ever asked for! He was beyond amazing, friendly and helpful. Dave was with us every step of the way from our very first brunch meeting to figuring out what we wanted to include in the ceremony and all throughout our wedding day while entertaining our guests. He accommodated all our requests and made sure we knew what to expect come our wedding day. Dave is very easy to contact, super responsive and gave us excellent guidance throughout our wedding planning process.Sent on 12/09/2018
Our ceremony went off without too much of a hitch. Dave arrived early and went over the lineup with us and helped us relax before the actual thing took place. During the ceremony, my guests truly loved Dave as he kept everyone engaged with his humor and witty remarks. Dave provided us with the perfect balance of humor and sweetness for our ceremony with his mesmerizing storytelling which allowed our love story to be told in a seamless fashion.
Even when my husband bumbled the ring exchange (the husband was too eager to marry me and placed the ring on my finger way too early), Dave improv’d it so masterfully that everyone had a good laugh. After the ceremony, we received so many compliments on what a wonderful and awesome officiant we had!
We highly definitely recommend Dave if you are looking for someone who is professional, funny and just a blast to have at your wedding!! And the best part is you get a lifelong FRIEND in Dave after your wedding. We can’t wait to attend one of his shows soon!.
