We had an absolutely beautiful wedding at Crested Hen Farms. Frank, the owner, and Richie, the manager, were so wonderful to work with. They were thoughtful in their advice and recommendations, responsive, transparent, and just truly lovely people we are so glad to have met. The barn and surrounding grounds are just beautiful, and the whole space was just perfect for a not-too-stuffy but still elegant event.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Crested Hen Farms and about Frank. The moment we first visited (on a cold, stormy day with freezing rain…) we absolutely fell in love. Even in that weather, the charm of the space spoke for itself. Nestled alongside a river with a gorgeous rustic barn, it immediately felt like the perfect place to gather our friends and family. Everyone keeps telling us how beautiful the venue was and how much it felt like “us.” From the very beginning, we felt right at home.
Working with Frank throughout the entire process was equally incredible. He was responsive, clear, and flexible every step of the way, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. And truly, Frank himself is an absolute delight. So kind, gracious, and genuine - he made us feel special and welcomed from the very start. It is a joy to know him and an honor to have shared his beautiful space for our wedding. We are endlessly grateful! We cannot recommend Crested Hen Farms enough!

Frank and his team at Crested Hen Farms went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was the day we dreamed of. From the minute we stepped on the property we felt a warmth and ease that immediately made us fall in love with the venue. The landscaping and flowers are stunning, lush and charming. The barn was the perfect blank canvas to create the dinner party we envisioned.We loved the rustic farmhouse tables and felt like we truly were able to make the venue our own. Any idea we had for how the party should go was heard, understood and executed. We really appreciated their expertise and professionalism- these guys know weddings! They were so acommodating in the weeks leading up to our event allowing us to check out their prop barn and assess the property with a ton of flexibility. Our guests were so impressed with how seamlessly the event went, in large part due to the CHF staff. Not to mention how dreamy the vibe was. We are so so glad we chose to get married at Crested Hen Farms and couldn't recommend them more to anyone looking for a beautiful barn venue in the Hudson Valley.

Frank and the team at Crested Hen were an absolute pleasure to work with. The wedding was gorgeous even with it pouring rain on our day. It truly is such a dreamy spot with all the wild flowers and the old barn, and there is a very sweet progression from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and reception.

My daughter was married on July 1 at Crested Hen Farms in High Falls, N..Y, in a beautiful refurbished barn surrounded by acres of lawn filled with benches, chairs and comfy tables where guests could gather and look out at a gorgeous stream. All this amid vast fields. It was amazing how Frank Macagnone and his staff, including a venue manager, a bar manager, an assistant manager and others -- a team of of valets among them -- transformed the enormous interior into a beautiful space filled with enough tables to seat 160 guests for a sit-down dinner cooked on premises and served by our caterers. And yet there was still enough room for a DJ's booth at one corner next to a dance floor that got plenty of use after the dinner and toasts. (There was also an outdoor bar sheltered by an overhang.) Despite what had seemed a certain forecast for rain, necessitating a tent to be put up outside, with seating provided for all the guests, the weather cooperated and my daughter and son-in-law had a picture-perfect outdoor ceremony. It couldn't have gone better! I must emphasize what a terrific person Frank is -- so friendly and accommodating, way above and beyond! From the very start, six months earlier, he was able to reassure us that all would work out. And it did! I feel like we've made a friend, and I hope to keep in touch with him. This could NOT have been a more perfect venue for our daughter's wedding! It is owned by Frank, a warm and generous man, who was readily available throughout the entire process of planning and then executing this very special occasion. Crested Hen Farms is located on a quiet, country road, and provided complete privacy for the event. Its property consists of large sprawling lawns and well-maintained gardens, and sits alongside a wide creek. The wedding ceremony took place right by the water, in the shade of two beautiful sycamore trees, both hundreds of years old. Then came the cocktail hour, with flowers everywhere and plenty of space for people to mingle. The reception was then held inside an old barn, beautifully cared for and extremely welcoming. Frank's crew had the floors and tables highly polished, chandeliers and soft lights lit up the room, and everything within felt "magical". After a delicious dinner, while many chose to dance, others wandered outdoors to sit by the fire pit, or chat in the well-lit large bar area. From the hors d'oeuvres, to the last bit of dessert, the food provided by Kevin and Patrice of EP Experience was fantastic. In addition to this wonderful venue, our fee included two large private houses across the street. Besides providing a place nearby for people to stay, it offered a wonderful After Party location, with a big lawn, chairs, and another fire pit. In every respect, Crested Hen Farms was, for us, the perfect place to celebrate our daughter's wedding.

Crested Hen Farms was the first venue we saw and we immediately knew it was a unique and special place. Within a few days we booked a date with Frank and Rich. Unfortunately due to covid, we ended up postponing our event twice, but Frank and Rich were extremely accommodating in helping us pick a new weekend. After nearly 2.5 years since originally seeing the venue, we finally had our wedding celebration this past weekend. Our friends and family were in absolute awe of Crested Hen Farms. We could not be more grateful to Frank and Rich for all of their help in making this weekend so magical. We can't wait to come up and visit you both soon!

When we first visited CHF, although it was under 2 feet of snow at the time, we immediately recognized that it was a deeply beautiful and special place. Frank and Richie were wonderful throughout the entire wedding planning process, and their recommended vendor list saved us a ton of time and stress. Our wedding day could not have been better. It was surreal to bring all our friends and family together in this incredible setting, and it was a total blast! Frank, Richie, and their entire team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect day. We are so thankful!

My husband and I were unfortunately a Covid couple but Frank and Rich made sure we were a priority and had new dates and back up dates when needed. They were the best to work with and recommended the most amazing vendors who I now refer to as the dream team. We finally had the wedding of our dreams this weekend and it was nothing short of a fairytale.

Crested Hen Farms is, put simply, a magical place where dreams are meant to be made.  There are very few decisions I've made in my life based on my gut, but this is one.  Although we looked at several similar venues, Crested Hen Farms immediately felt right.  

The barn itself is gorgeous, quaint, and warm.  It has the perfect rustic elegance and is charming even without adding any decor.  The outdoor property is absolutely breathtaking.  It is well kept without looking overly manicured and the options for incredible photos are endless.  While this is evident from the online photos, it's even better in person.  But, a gorgeous barn and a breathtaking property are really only part of the equation -- you still need great people, and Frank and Richie couldn't be better.  From the moment we stepped on to the property we were filled with excitement, but meeting Frank and Richie and immediately feeling like we were fast friends is what sealed the deal.  They were both so warm, so kind, and so thoughtful.  We knew we wanted to work with them on the spot.  Even before we made our final decision, they were both excited, responsive, and full of great ideas.  Within a couple of conversations, they felt like old friends who absolutely had to be there joining in our wedding.  

If you are considering this venue, I can recommend it without hesitation.  There were so many things we were looking for in a space - quaint and rustic, but still elegant; warm and comfortable, but still professional; spacious, but still intimate; abundant outdoor space, but still enough indoor space for all; a gorgeous outdoor ceremony option, but a contingency plan in case of rain; a place where we could add our own touches, but no need to start from scratch or overdecorate.  Crested Hen Farms offered all of this and more (including a shed of amazing decorations, china, and silverware for our use).  Our experience is only one, but every vendor with whom we spoke also raved about Crested Hen Farms and Frank and Richie.
