  A wonderful place for a wedding

  We had an absolutely beautiful wedding at Crested Hen Farms. Frank, the owner, and Richie, the manager, were so wonderful to work with. They were thoughtful in their advice and recommendations, responsive, transparent, and just truly lovely people we are so glad to have met. The barn and surrounding grounds are just beautiful, and the whole space was just perfect for a not-too-stuffy but still elegant event.

  Crested Hen feels like home

  Frank and the team at Crested Hen were an absolute pleasure to work with. The wedding was gorgeous even with it pouring rain on our day. It truly is such a dreamy spot with all the wild flowers and the old barn, and there is a very sweet progression from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and reception.
  
  Frank and his team were so flexible with our crazy ideas, and made it all work for us!

  A wonderful place for a wedding

  My daughter was married on July 1 at Crested Hen Farms in High Falls, N..Y, in a beautiful refurbished barn surrounded by acres of lawn filled with benches, chairs and comfy tables where guests could gather and look out at a gorgeous stream. All this amid vast fields. It was amazing how Frank Macagnone and his staff, including a venue manager, a bar manager, an assistant manager and others -- a team of of valets among them -- transformed the enormous interior into a beautiful space filled with enough tables to seat 160 guests for a sit-down dinner cooked on premises and served by our caterers. And yet there was still enough room for a DJ's booth at one corner next to a dance floor that got plenty of use after the dinner and toasts. (There was also an outdoor bar sheltered by an overhang.) Despite what had seemed a certain forecast for rain, necessitating a tent to be put up outside, with seating provided for all the guests, the weather cooperated and my daughter and son-in-law had a picture-perfect outdoor ceremony. It couldn't have gone better! I must emphasize what a terrific person Frank is -- so friendly and accommodating, way above and beyond! From the very start, six months earlier, he was able to reassure us that all would work out. And it did! I feel like we've made a friend, and I hope to keep in touch with him. I can't recommend Crested Hen Farms enough. Sincerely, Mitch Vinicor

  Magnificent Farm Wedding

  This could NOT have been a more perfect venue for our daughter's wedding! It is owned by Frank, a warm and generous man, who was readily available throughout the entire process of planning and then executing this very special occasion. Crested Hen Farms is located on a quiet, country road, and provided complete privacy for the event. Its property consists of large sprawling lawns and well-maintained gardens, and sits alongside a wide creek. The wedding ceremony took place right by the water, in the shade of two beautiful sycamore trees, both hundreds of years old. Then came the cocktail hour, with flowers everywhere and plenty of space for people to mingle. The reception was then held inside an old barn, beautifully cared for and extremely welcoming. Frank's crew had the floors and tables highly polished, chandeliers and soft lights lit up the room, and everything within felt "magical". After a delicious dinner, while many chose to dance, others wandered outdoors to sit by the fire pit, or chat in the well-lit large bar area. From the hors d'oeuvres, to the last bit of dessert, the food provided by Kevin and Patrice of EP Experience was fantastic. In addition to this wonderful venue, our fee included two large private houses across the street. Besides providing a place nearby for people to stay, it offered a wonderful After Party location, with a big lawn, chairs, and another fire pit. In every respect, Crested Hen Farms was, for us, the perfect place to celebrate our daughter's wedding.

  Just perfect

  When we first visited CHF, although it was under 2 feet of snow at the time, we immediately recognized that it was a deeply beautiful and special place. Frank and Richie were wonderful throughout the entire wedding planning process, and their recommended vendor list saved us a ton of time and stress. Our wedding day could not have been better. It was surreal to bring all our friends and family together in this incredible setting, and it was a total blast! Frank, Richie, and their entire team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect day. We are so thankful!

  The barn wedding of our dreams!

  My husband and I were unfortunately a Covid couple but Frank and Rich made sure we were a priority and had new dates and back up dates when needed. They were the best to work with and recommended the most amazing vendors who I now refer to as the dream team. We finally had the wedding of our dreams this weekend and it was nothing short of a fairytale.

  Crested Hen Farms was the first venue we saw and we immediately knew it was a unique and special place. Within a few days we booked a date with Frank and Rich. Unfortunately due to covid, we ended up postponing our event twice, but Frank and Rich were extremely accommodating in helping us pick a new weekend. After nearly 2.5 years since originally seeing the venue, we finally had our wedding celebration this past weekend. Our friends and family were in absolute awe of Crested Hen Farms. We could not be more grateful to Frank and Rich for all of their help in making this weekend so magical. We can't wait to come up and visit you both soon!

  A magical place

  Crested Hen Farms is, put simply, a magical place where dreams are meant to be made.  There are very few decisions I've made in my life based on my gut, but this is one.  Although we looked at several similar venues, Crested Hen Farms immediately felt right.  
  
  The barn itself is gorgeous, quaint, and warm.  It has the perfect rustic elegance and is charming even without adding any decor.  The outdoor property is absolutely breathtaking.  It is well kept without looking overly manicured and the options for incredible photos are endless.  While this is evident from the online photos, it's even better in person.  But, a gorgeous barn and a breathtaking property are really only part of the equation -- you still need great people, and Frank and Richie couldn't be better.  From the moment we stepped on to the property we were filled with excitement, but meeting Frank and Richie and immediately feeling like we were fast friends is what sealed the deal.  They were both so warm, so kind, and so thoughtful.  We knew we wanted to work with them on the spot.  Even before we made our final decision, they were both excited, responsive, and full of great ideas.  Within a couple of conversations, they felt like old friends who absolutely had to be there joining in our wedding.  
  
  If you are considering this venue, I can recommend it without hesitation.  There were so many things we were looking for in a space - quaint and rustic, but still elegant; warm and comfortable, but still professional; spacious, but still intimate; abundant outdoor space, but still enough indoor space for all; a gorgeous outdoor ceremony option, but a contingency plan in case of rain; a place where we could add our own touches, but no need to start from scratch or overdecorate.  Crested Hen Farms offered all of this and more (including a shed of amazing decorations, china, and silverware for our use).  Our experience is only one, but every vendor with whom we spoke also raved about Crested Hen Farms and Frank and Richie.

  Best Wedding & Venue EVER!

  We absolutely had the best wedding ever and couldn't be more grateful for Frank and Rich. From the first visit to Crested Hen, to our wedding day, every time it got more and more magical. I found Crested Hen years ago on Instagram before I met my husband and always felt this connection with the space. When my husband and I got engaged I knew we had to go and when we went, we both fell in love right away. We knew we had to have our wedding there. Frank was so welcoming and friendly and Rich was just as friendly and funny to speak with. We even got farm fresh eggs from the hens, and they were delicious!
  Frank and Rich were so amazing to work with and helpful, we were so lucky to have them. We had some bumps in the road with planning and they made sure on their end to make it as easy as possible and went above and beyond to help us. They were so responsive throughout the whole process and were so organized. Also Frank and Rich really know the area and gave us the best recommendations and directions. We are so thankful for them and feel like we gained friends out of Rich and Frank. We will miss talking to them all the time !
  The venue is absolutely breathtaking and the day of the wedding the space really came alive. The venue has a barn full of vintage, collectible, hidden antique gems you could use for your wedding day - that was absolutely amazing and helped save us a lot of money on décor and went with the vibe of the venue. The venue also provided wooden farm tables, chairs and mismatched silverware and plates, that looked absolutely stunning! I wanted a rustic romantic eclectic style wedding - and it came out perfect with everything from crested hen!! Also the property is meticulously maintained with beautiful landscaping. After all the planning and minimal decorations and our personal touches (cause the space is beautiful on its own) everything looked perfect. Also I must note, the Crested Hen Staff the day of the wedding and leading up did an amazing job facilitating everything from table setup, valet, to setting up the bonfire, the heat lamps, thank you all! All our pictures came out STUNNING and we wish we could relive this day over and over again.
  We also rented the houses across the street for friends and family and it was a perfect add on to our day. It is a quick walk across the street to the venue and made it easier for our family to get to and from.
  We couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. It was a one of a kind wedding and everyone we came continues to say how amazing the venue and wedding was. Thank you for everything and helping us make our dream wedding come true!

  Truly amazing

  I remember when I first came to Crested Hen Farms, I immediately fell in love. The property is absolutely beautiful! From the stunning barn, lush gardens and picturesque round out creek, you couldn’t ask for anything more. Frank, Rich and the whole team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They are so easy to talk to and made us feel like family. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Our special day was everything we dreamed of and more! We are forever grateful to Frank, Rich and the whole Crested Hen Farms family for making our day absolutely amazing!

  Beautiful wedding venue!

  My husband and I had a wonderful experience getting married at Crested Hen Farms. Frank and Richie made us feel comfortable and welcome the first time we came to tour the property, and by the end of our wedding planning process they made us feel like family.
  
  Everything was very well organized, and we appreciated that they had a barn full of items that we could borrow to decorate for the wedding (although everything is so well taken care of you don’t really need much!). Richie does a beautiful job of maintaining the grounds and planting new and beautiful trees and flowers.
  
  Both were very responsive to my many questions, and were always available if we wanted to stop by and look around for ideas.
  
  We rented the houses across the street as well, and had our bridal party stay there. The homes were beautiful, and it made walking to and from the venue very easy, as well as extending the wedding from one short day to a beautiful weekend experience.
  
  Everyone commented on how absolutely beautiful the venue was, and to be honest, I knew it would look stunning, but every time I go back through the pictures I realize that it exceeded my expectations!
  
  We would definitely recommend this venue if you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, weekend wedding getaway!

  Rustic, Fall Wedding

  I have always wanted a barn wedding. When my husband and I pulled up to Crested Hen Farms a year ago, we knew this was the venue for us. Frank, is the accommodating and nicest person I've ever met, and Rich and his crew are such hard workers, and did everything they could to make sure that our day was everything we wanted. With a nor'easter landing on our wedding day, Frank and Rich allowed us to transform the barn with tents, heaters, etc. to make sure that all of our guests were as comfortable as they could be. They kept reassuring us that everything would be great and made sure that it was. We could not be more thankful for the flexibility and the hard work that came from the staff at CHF. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an amazing barn wedding!

  I have always wanted a barn wedding. When my husband and I pulled up to Crested Hen Farms a year ago, we knew this was the venue for us. Frank, is the accommodating and nicest person I've ever met, and Rich and his crew are such hard workers, and did everything they could to make sure that our day was everything we wanted. With a nor'easter landing on our wedding day, Frank and Rich allowed us to transform the barn with tents, heaters, etc. to make sure that all of our guests were as comfortable as they could be. They kept reassuring us that everything would be great and made sure that it was. We could not be more thankful for the flexibility and the hard work that came from the staff at CHF. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an amazing barn wedding!

  Our Perfect Wedding Day!

  I should start by saying that our wedding was nearly five months ago, and everyone is STILL talking about it! It truly is the greatest feeling in the world when you get to listen to your family and friends gush about your wedding and the beautiful and unique venue!
  
  Crested Hen was our absolute perfect wedding venue. Much of its uniqueness is derived from the love and devotion that Frank and Richie have poured into the Crested Hen. Like I said, our wedding day was perfect!
  
  Wedding planning was an extremely stressful time for us as our original wedding venue cancelled three months out from our wedding day. However, with our day set in stone, and most of our vendors booked, we began to scramble to find a replacement venue. At that time, we really thought that we would be settling with a venue. But by some miracle, we were brought to Crested Hen through a cancellation! From the moment, we pulled into the property, and before we even started our meeting with Richie, we knew that we found the place we wanted to get married. We later learned that it was truly meant to be as the Crested Hen is typically booked a year (or more) in advance.
  
  Without hesitation, we knew that we had to get married at the Crested Hen. So with less than three months to our wedding, Frank and Richie worked extremely diligently to make sure that we were able to make our wedding a reality.
  
  What makes Crested Hen so special is the genuine sincerity of Frank, who truly wants you to have your perfect wedding. When you have a wedding at the Crested Hen it really is as if you are being welcomed into the arms of family. Frank and Richie worked endlessly and helped make our vision become a reality. Our only regret was that we didn't get to spend more time with Frank and Richie!!!

  Rustic elegance in the heart of the countryside

  The perfect wedding.

We were greeted with open arms and immediately we knew this was this was the place that we wanted to get married. Frank and Richie made sure everything we wanted was accounted for- it made wedding planning a BREEZE! The setup before the wedding was great. Richie and his crew made sure that the barn look perfect for our special day with seasonal flowers, great tables and chairs and much more. Our special day came and the barn came to life with all our gusts. The creek in the back, the fire bit, the rustic chic decor, the amazing bar and the great service made our wedding day absolutely perfect. We are so lucky to be apart of the Crested Hen Family and we can't recommend the barn any higher. This barn is a true gem and we were so lucky to be able to have our special day at such a special location.

It truly felt like we were planning a wedding at the home of close family friends - they were totally invested in making everything perfect and special for us, and every touch was helpful, thoughtful and personal to us. The team held our hands through every part of vendor selection, planning, and made themselves available whenever we had questions or requests. We loved having the farm to ourselves for the week of the wedding and the day following, and the freedom to make it 'ours' for our week. Our wedding day was so much more beautiful and special than we even imagined it would be, and we loved hearing from our guests how much they loved everything we did about the venue.   Where to begin! Crested Hen Farms was an amazing venue for our wedding. CHF was one of the first venues we saw, back when I was still trying to wrap my head around what type of wedding we wanted. The farm happened to be down the road from where my mom had just moved and as soon as we arrived we were hooked. Frank and Richie are amazing people and they really dive in to the process with you. The venue is beautiful, with the combination of the barn and nature allowing couples to get as creative as they want during the planning. We wanted to have the ceremony overlooking the river and then the reception inside the barn, but there are a million different ways to do it. You bring all of the vendors in but Frank is there to answer any and all questions you may have, complete with recommendations!. Almost all of our vendors were from the Hudson Valley area, many of which had worked at the farm before - it created a nice familiar vibe through the process.
  
  Another wonderful bonus is that they have their own antique wooden tables and chairs, along with all sorts of china and flatware. You can rent and bring anything in if you prefer a unified look, however we really loved the old wood and mismatched place settings. They have a private house where the wedding party can get ready and endless photo-worthy spots for your photographer to play with. And true to their name, they have a a chicken coop with all different breeds of chicken!

  Created Hen Farms is an amazing venue! My husband and I knew it from the moment that we walked on the property. After our visit, we ended up cancelling all our other appointments and we booked it the very next day! The views are beautiful, the barn in charming, the outdoor bar is perfect for cocktail hour, the ceremony site is right over a river, and the bonfire is the icing on the cake! What more can you ask for? On top of that, Frank and Richie are both incredibly sweet, super responsive, accommodating and make sure they execute the day of the wedding. The venue is a blank slate and is great for DIY brides (like myself) or those who have wedding planners. I highly recommend this venue and only wish I could relive my wedding day again and again!

When there was a chance of rain (which fortunately never materialized), they jumped in to help us with a rain plan. Being able to get ready on the property is also a huge plus!   Our daughter's wedding took place this past Saturday, May 5, 2018. Up until 2 weeks earlier it was supposed to be held at a different venue that was not completed. We desperately scrambled to find a place for 165 guests. After much scouting around the area, we came across Crested Hen Farms. They said they could do our wedding, even though they usually start a little later in the season. To say that we were overwhelmed by our experience with Frank and Rich at Crested Hen Farms, is truly an understatement. From the moment we met these two wonderful gentlemen, we knew we had made a fabulous decision. We made our decision just 12 days before the event. We were told that that the venue would be wedding ready by May 5th and it was perfect! From the moment we signed our contract, the staff at the farm started cleaning up and planting after the winter. The grounds are spectacular. The ceremony was held on the lawn overlooking a gorgeous stream with wildlife all over the huge property. The venue is so unique with an enormous amount of antiques that are available for use by the couples. Every request was answered with an enthusiastic "no problem" and it was done immediately. The barn holds the dance floor and about 100 people and we added a lovely tent for additional guests. The cocktail hour was on the lawn and in the bar area which is made with reclaimed wood . We were blown away by the uniqueness of the venue. All chairs and tables, china and silver, are antiques & are one of a kind. When they are set up, the barn becomes the most beautiful venue I've seen. But, the best part of the experience was working with Frank and Rich! I feel like we've made friends for life. They worked tirelessly to make sure that our couple was happy. They opened the main house to a team of 6 hair & makeup specialists & 15 in bridal party on the wedding morning. I never dreamed the wedding could be so fablulous. Thank you Frank & Rich for truly making this the best day of our children's lives!

  My husband, Chris, and I just had our wedding at Crested Hen Farms on October 7. Our wedding was everything we ever hoped it would be, and more. This venue is amazing - there are so many picturesque locations throughout the property and the farm setting sets it apart from the typical wedding factories. All of our guests loved the location (And the bonus of having a huge bonfire toward the end). To top it off, Frank and Richie were simply wonderful to work with and ensured that there was a perfect fluidity to everything. They have such amazing and warm personalities. If you are in the market for a unique wedding experience that will truly reflect your taste and desires, look no further!

After we had a tour of the property, he invited us back into his home for tea and gave us some fresh eggs from his farm as a parting gift. They were the most delicious eggs we had ever had. Frank couldn't thank us enough for stopping by and considering them for our special day. We ultimately did not choose this venue for our wedding as we needed more indoor space to accommodate the amount of guests we had, but we would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for that picture-perfect rustic wedding!

  Our wedding at Crested Hen Farms was perfect. The setting is wonderful, and beautifully cared for. Frank and Rich are kind and hospitable hosts. It is a day that I will look back upon fondly for many years to come!
