We cannot say enough wonderful things about Crested Hen Farms and about Frank. The moment we first visited (on a cold, stormy day with freezing rain…) we absolutely fell in love. Even in that weather, the charm of the space spoke for itself. Nestled alongside a river with a gorgeous rustic barn, it immediately felt like the perfect place to gather our friends and family. Everyone keeps telling us how beautiful the venue was and how much it felt like “us.” From the very beginning, we felt right at home.
Working with Frank throughout the entire process was equally incredible. He was responsive, clear, and flexible every step of the way, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. And truly, Frank himself is an absolute delight. So kind, gracious, and genuine - he made us feel special and welcomed from the very start. It is a joy to know him and an honor to have shared his beautiful space for our wedding. We are endlessly grateful! We cannot recommend Crested Hen Farms enough!

Frank and his team at Crested Hen Farms went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was the day we dreamed of. From the minute we stepped on the property we felt a warmth and ease that immediately made us fall in love with the venue. The landscaping and flowers are stunning, lush and charming. The barn was the perfect blank canvas to create the dinner party we envisioned.We loved the rustic farmhouse tables and felt like we truly were able to make the venue our own. Any idea we had for how the party should go was heard, understood and executed. We really appreciated their expertise and professionalism- these guys know weddings! They were so acommodating in the weeks leading up to our event allowing us to check out their prop barn and assess the property with a ton of flexibility. Our guests were so impressed with how seamlessly the event went, in large part due to the CHF staff. Not to mention how dreamy the vibe was. We are so so glad we chose to get married at Crested Hen Farms and couldn't recommend them more to anyone looking for a beautiful barn venue in the Hudson Valley. -

A beautiful and special place
Crested Hen Farms was the first venue we saw and we immediately knew it was a unique and special place. Within a few days we booked a date with Frank and Rich. Unfortunately due to covid, we ended up postponing our event twice, but Frank and Rich were extremely accommodating in helping us pick a new weekend. After nearly 2.5 years since originally seeing the venue, we finally had our wedding celebration this past weekend. Our friends and family were in absolute awe of Crested Hen Farms. We could not be more grateful to Frank and Rich for all of their help in making this weekend so magical. We can't wait to come up and visit you both soon!Crested Hen Farms's reply:

We absolutely had the best wedding ever and couldn't be more grateful for Frank and Rich. From the first visit to Crested Hen, to our wedding day, every time it got more and more magical. I found Crested Hen years ago on Instagram before I met my husband and always felt this connection with the space. When my husband and I got engaged I knew we had to go and when we went, we both fell in love right away. We knew we had to have our wedding there. Frank was so welcoming and friendly and Rich was just as friendly and funny to speak with. We even got farm fresh eggs from the hens, and they were delicious!
Frank and Rich were so amazing to work with and helpful, we were so lucky to have them. We had some bumps in the road with planning and they made sure on their end to make it as easy as possible and went above and beyond to help us. They were so responsive throughout the whole process and were so organized. Also Frank and Rich really know the area and gave us the best recommendations and directions. We are so thankful for them and feel like we gained friends out of Rich and Frank. We will miss talking to them all the time !
The venue is absolutely breathtaking and the day of the wedding the space really came alive. The venue has a barn full of vintage, collectible, hidden antique gems you could use for your wedding day - that was absolutely amazing and helped save us a lot of money on décor and went with the vibe of the venue. The venue also provided wooden farm tables, chairs and mismatched silverware and plates, that looked absolutely stunning! I wanted a rustic romantic eclectic style wedding - and it came out perfect with everything from crested hen!! Also the property is meticulously maintained with beautiful landscaping. After all the planning and minimal decorations and our personal touches (cause the space is beautiful on its own) everything looked perfect. Also I must note, the Crested Hen Staff the day of the wedding and leading up did an amazing job facilitating everything from table setup, valet, to setting up the bonfire, the heat lamps, thank you all! All our pictures came out STUNNING and we wish we could relive this day over and over again.
We also rented the houses across the street for friends and family and it was a perfect add on to our day. It is a quick walk across the street to the venue and made it easier for our family to get to and from.
We couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. It was a one of a kind wedding and everyone we came continues to say how amazing the venue and wedding was. Thank you for everything and helping us make our dream wedding come true! -

I remember when I first came to Crested Hen Farms, I immediately fell in love. The property is absolutely beautiful! From the stunning barn, lush gardens and picturesque round out creek, you couldn’t ask for anything more. Frank, Rich and the whole team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They are so easy to talk to and made us feel like family. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Our special day was everything we dreamed of and more! We are forever grateful to Frank, Rich and the whole Crested Hen Farms family for making our day absolutely amazing!Crested Hen Farms's reply:

Our Perfect Wedding Day!
I should start by saying that our wedding was nearly five months ago, and everyone is STILL talking about it! It truly is the greatest feeling in the world when you get to listen to your family and friends gush about your wedding and the beautiful and unique venue!
Crested Hen was our absolute perfect wedding venue. Much of its uniqueness is derived from the love and devotion that Frank and Richie have poured into the Crested Hen. Like I said, our wedding day was perfect!
Wedding planning was an extremely stressful time for us as our original wedding venue cancelled three months out from our wedding day. However, with our day set in stone, and most of our vendors booked, we began to scramble to find a replacement venue. At that time, we really thought that we would be settling with a venue. But by some miracle, we were brought to Crested Hen through a cancellation! From the moment, we pulled into the property, and before we even started our meeting with Richie, we knew that we found the place we wanted to get married. We later learned that it was truly meant to be as the Crested Hen is typically booked a year (or more) in advance.
Without hesitation, we knew that we had to get married at the Crested Hen. So with less than three months to our wedding, Frank and Richie worked extremely diligently to make sure that we were able to make our wedding a reality.
What makes Crested Hen so special is the genuine sincerity of Frank, who truly wants you to have your perfect wedding. When you have a wedding at the Crested Hen it really is as if you are being welcomed into the arms of family. Frank and Richie worked endlessly and helped make our vision become a reality. Our only regret was that we didn't get to spend more time with Frank and Richie!!!
When we initially began looking at wedding venues, we knew we wanted something different, something that let us control the flow and feel of our wedding and allow us to truly enjoy and celebrate! Crested Hen was all of that and more. When you walk into the Crested Hen, you feel the magic of the venue! Like I said, that magic should be attributed to the love, care and attention that Frank and Richie pour into the Crested Hen. When you book Crested Hen for your wedding, you are getting so much more than a wedding venue, you are getting a group of individuals who will help and ensure that your day will be all you wished and more. Our wedding was magical and we owe that all to Frank and Richie!Crested Hen Farms's reply:

We had our wedding at Crested Hen Farms in October. I have always wanted a barn wedding and this venue is simply magical. Frank and Rich were responsive from start to finish. They eased our worries throughout the year of planning, accommodated our every need, and were there throughout the day of to make sure that we were having a blast. The venue itself is beyond beautiful and Frank and Rich make sure your vision is carried out. From getting ready in the farmhouse, saying our vows next to the Roundout Creek, and dancing the night away in the cozy ambiance of the barn. DIY weddings can be exhausting but Crested Hen made the process enjoyable from start to finish. Thank you Frank and Rich for making our special day everything we could have imagined and more! -

Created Hen Farms is an amazing venue! My husband and I knew it from the moment that we walked on the property. After our visit, we ended up cancelling all our other appointments and we booked it the very next day! The views are beautiful, the barn in charming, the outdoor bar is perfect for cocktail hour, the ceremony site is right over a river, and the bonfire is the icing on the cake! What more can you ask for? On top of that, Frank and Richie are both incredibly sweet, super responsive, accommodating and make sure they execute the day of the wedding. The venue is a blank slate and is great for DIY brides (like myself) or those who have wedding planners. I highly recommend this venue and only wish I could relive my wedding day again and again! -
Darlene Sent on 12/06/2017My daughter had her wedding at Crested Hen and besides being a beautiful setting, Frank the owner and his assistant, Richie, were an absolute pleasure to work with. From day one thru the end of the wedding day, they could not have been more accommodating, flexible, and committed to do whatever to make my daughter’s wedding perfect! The barn has been meticulously renovated and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. If you are looking for a barn setting for your wedding - look no farther!

Ramona Sent on 10/14/2016Frank and Richie are the most amazing people to work with. The grounds are beautiful. Words and pictures can't do it justice. When you see it you will fall in love just like we did. Once you walk the grounds and meet with Frank & Richie you will fall in love allover again.
