Our Story

David & Lori met on or about 1984 in rural Southeast Kansas. David was 18 and headed to serve in the Marine Corps while Lori was 16 and David’s little sister’s best friend. David tried to date Lori, but her dad did the ultimate dad thing and intimidated David with the old “load your shot gun” routine. It worked, temporarily. David went off and served 20 years in the Corps while Lori became a dental hygienist for 25 years.

Life happened until they re-met in 2005 at David’s grandfather’s funeral back in Independence Kansas; Lori’s father passed away that same year, so the shot gun was left in the rifle rack, and it was safe for David to finally court Lori. The spark was rekindled, and they became man and wife in 2006. They both had a love of horses and a deeply held conviction to their faith. This is where Ephesians 2:20 birthed Cornerstone Carriage Company in Cherryvale Kansas in 2007.

Cornerstone Carriage Company hosted many weddings, proms, and special events for over 6 years. Life again happened and they sold all but one horse and one buggy that they continued to use to go to town or to ride to church on nice Sunday mornings.

Life again happened and 2021 brought them to New Port Richey Florida where they hope the rebirth of Cornerstone Carriage Company will enable them to share their passion for all things equine with their new neighbors.
