Hiring Clay as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made throughout the entire planning process! Not only did our pictures turn out stunning, we just loved being around Clay. His laugh was infectious and kept us comfortable and loose. Although it is not our norm to pose in front of a camera and be the center of attention, we had such an amazing time strolling down the gorgeous streets of Charleston's battery area looking for unique backdrops with Clay. I told Clay that I really wanted to capture the beauty of all Charleston's dreamy South of Broad streets has to offer and he did just that. Clay was such a bright light to have always close by on our wedding day.

Working with Clay was a dream. Right off the bat he understood our vision and knew that we were after more artistic, editorial like photos that showcased the beauty of Charleston and all the details from our wedding. He did just that. Our pictures are such high quality standard and Clay did such a great job of showcasing the love and emotions throughout the day. SO much so that People featured his work. He also made my husband feel so comfortable with taking tons of pictures.

Clay is absolutely wonderful! From first interaction to last, Clay was completely first class, with such an amazingly positive attitude. Neither my husband nor I are big picture takers or naturally photogenic and Clay had an amazing ability to capture candid moments and to keep us relaxed and laughing. We got ready for the wedding at my parent's home and Clay and his assistant were such a wonderful addition to the day with their smiles, laughter, kindness, calmness and professionalism. The biggest goal for our wedding photos was to capture moments of our family and Clay caught some of the most amazing images of my parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family and of my husband and I. He also did a wonderful job capturing the children in attendance and the overall emotion of the day- you can tell he is a parent himself with his patience and boundless positive energy. Clay is an incredible talent and I believe he will be the next big photographer on the scene :) Thank you to Clay for preserving some amazing memories for our family, we are truly grateful.

Clay shot my daughter's bridal portraits and wedding. He was so much fun to work with yet so professional. If you want the most awesome memories of a lifetime, you must hire Clay!

Truly I do not know where to begin with Clay. He (and our videographer) were the two ONLY vendors that I truly felt we did not have to check in on or make sure they were doing things right. Clay has an amazing energy that just makes you happy and relaxed. His creativity is stunning to the point where you completely trust him to get all the right shots without having to make sure he's getting the ones you want. He is detailed and thoughtful and our wedding day would not have been the same without him. I have been to other weddings where the photographer was great, but not on the same level as Clay. My family and friends and the bridal party still talk about him and truly we couldn't have been happier with his dedication and the final product.

I think that hiring Clay Austin to be our wedding photographer was the best decision that we made about our wedding! Not only did he take fantastic engagement photos, I am basically obsessed with our wedding pictures. He and his assistant John did such an amazing job capturing our wedding day perfectly (we got married at Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite California). When I go back and look at the photos, all I do is smile. Not only is Clay an amazing photographer, but an amazing person. He makes taking pictures fun, and makes you laugh throughout the day. He just “gets” it. I have been in a bunch of other weddings, and Clay’s demeanor and how he handles every situation is just perfect. He is the perfect mix of telling people what to do to make the photos move along combined with making everyone laugh and have a great time along the way. He is also super responsive in all manners of communication! (Email, phone, text, etc).

Additionally, Clay flew in for my wedding. Clay is based in South Carolina, but came out to Yosemite (California) for my wedding. He did a great job of finding cheap flights, finding an assistant and keeping costs down. What I am saying here is, if you are having a destination wedding or just love Clay, pay to fly him to your wedding…its worth it!!

We had the pleasure of working with Clay for both our engagement photo shoot and for photographing our wedding at the William Aiken House in Charleston, SC. Clay exceeded our expectations in every way during the entire process. As a vendor, he was perfect (immediately responsive to all of our questions, delivered all of our photos much faster than we expected, provided wonderfully creative suggestions for engagement photo settings), but more importantly he really felt like a friend taking part in the proceedings during the ceremony and reception. He made us feel perfectly at ease taking photos, and delivered amazing pictures of our event that we'll treasure forever. We would use Clay again in a second and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Clay was amazing to work with for my bridal portraits and wedding photography! I could not have asked for a more personable, professional and inventive photographer to remember our big day! He was open to our ideas for shots, but also had a lot of great ideas that turned out amazing! He definitely got all the shots we wanted and didn’t stop until he got the perfect pictures. His past experience as a portrait photographer was apparent as the shots of my husband and me and our posed guest portraits were spectacular and my guests loved them just as much as I did. He also captured the excitement of the evening with the candid reception shots as well. Clay was very easy to work with, delivering my photos in a timely manner and didn’t mind me asking for a few other shots that we did not receive in large collection of photos. He was wonderful and I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

Clay Austin came highly recommended to us and he certainly lived up to his reputation! Honestly, he was hands-down the best vendor we had to work with at our wedding!!! We had the privilege of having him not only shoot our entire wedding day, but also our engagement photos as well!

From the second I first met Clay, his extremely energetic and bubbly personality put me at ease. Going into our engagement photo session, my husband and I joked that neither of us were exactly ‘naturals’ in front of the camera. However, Clay has a way of making you feel comfortable in front of the camera and by the end of the session we were relaxed and having fun!

“I am OBSESSED with your photos! (no seriously, I'm obsessed!) :-) The lighting in every single photo is absolutely amazing, and somehow you managed to make it look like our 90+ degree August wedding took place during a cool 70 degree day. You can’t tell we were all sweaty messes the entire time! Haha! Maybe I'm biased, but I think they're the most beautiful wedding photos I've ever seen ;-) You were so thoughtful in all of the photos, and I'm incredibly thankful that you were my photographer for the celebration.“

Omg we loved Clay so much! He was so much fun to work with and made our wedding experience so great! Besides his work being beautiful, he is so easy to work with and fun! He has such a great eye for photography that is more like artwork than just a picture. I was immediately drawn to his work because I didn't want the "dated wedding photos." His photobooth option is fantastic and all my guests loved it! Would absolutely recommend him!
