History
Clair Tappaan Lodge was built by a dedicated group of Sierra Club volunteers in the early 1930s. The spirit of volunteering has been thriving ever since, and guests are encouraged to lend their time. To maintain a sense of community and affordable rates, the venue gives discounts to groups when they assist in daily operations. The Lodge is named after Clair S. Tappa and remains Sierra Club’s largest and most popular lodge.
