Chima Steakhouse is named after chimarrao, a traditional drink of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It symbolizes hospitality and friendship, which they embody at their multiple locations. Gauchos also known as cowboys in South Brazil, were thought to have a diet of almost all beef. The meat was seasoned, placed on skewers and slow cooked over a wood burning flame. The first restaurant of its kind originated in Brazil, and then the Silva Family opened their first U.S. location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2004.

My family fell in love with Chimas a few years ago, and I knew I wanted to have some part of my wedding at the venue. It's so nice and a great opportunity for pictures and since my wedding is in the winter, having the indoor cozy feeling is definitely important. My parents had their 25th anniversary dinner about 7 years ago in the upstairs private dinning area and I reserved the same space for my wedding rehearsal dinner. Aline (pronounce Alee-nee) is very responsive and friendly. She was able to rattle off all of my options and answer all of my questions in one meeting. I'm so very happy to be able to host an event here especially so close to New Years Eve.Sent on 02/16/2016
