Looking for a venue that’s fun and playful? A place with historic elegance that’s also contemporary and cool? Then look no further! The Children’s Museum of Phoenix isn’t just for children; it’s for the child in all of us. This is the kind of place where you’ll rediscover a sense of wonder, where even your most serious and hard-to-please guests will say "Wow! This place is awesome! I can’t believe I’ve never been here!"
When it opened in 2008, the Museum breathed new life into the historic century-old Monroe School building at 7th Street and Van Buren. Originally built in 1913, this grand building has been lovingly restored to its original beauty. But step inside and you’ll discover an eclectic creative space with an artistic urban feel that will entertain, delight, and inspire you to think outside the box.
With free parking for 250 cars and three floors of exhibit space, this unique facility can accommodate any type of gathering, from formal sit-down dinners and cocktail parties to themed birthday bashes and proms. And don’t worry about a bunch of kids running around your event. Our normal operating day ends at 4:00, leaving plenty of evening hours for you to wine, dine, and have a great time! Take a look for yourself and you’ll find that the Children’s Museum of Phoenix is a spectacular venue that truly puts the "Special" in your "Special Event".

Fun & Fabulous! This is not your typical wedding venue!
My fiancé and I were looking for a unique wedding venue that was fun and unexpected yet sophisticated enough for a formal ceremony. We were first drawn to the dramatic façade of the 100 year old Monroe School. It is unlike anything in the downtown Phoenix area. Inside there is a picturesque mix of modern and historic architecture. Most importantly, this venue offers a dazzling array of interactive exhibits which are more akin to modern art than cheesy kids stuff.
We had a serene wedding ceremony outdoors – the backdrop of the building was absolutely breathtaking. Our wedding party felt like royalty posing under the iconic marble columns. After the ceremony our guests moved inside for the party of a lifetime.
We held our reception in the atrium where the three-story Climber was the perfect centerpiece. Not a single guest was bored - adults were free to dine, drink and dance while the little ones were effortlessly entertained by the super cool exhibits. To enhance the fun we offered guests a playful dinner menu and cotton candy takeaways. Everyone was impressed.
Alex, the Special Events Manager, was such a pleasure to work with. He proved to be professional, organized and highly attentive to our unique needs. His team truly went above and beyond to orchestrate a magical wedding. My husband and I are both so glad we discovered this place. In fact, our friends and family still rave about how we had the coolest wedding EVER!
