About

Thanks for thinking of us for your wedding venue! Cheaha State Park offers a beautiful, destination-style wedding venue, conveniently located within easy driving distance of many major cities. Our park features the Bald Rock Lodge, Vista Cliffside Deck, Cleburne Room, Alexander Activities Building and Redbud Pavilion. All provide a beautiful backdrop for weddings.

Our Bald Rock Lodge rents as an entire unit featuring a commercial kitchen, large dining hall that seats 100, a receiving area, beautiful fireplaces, private patio and pavilion plus 12 bedrooms that sleep a total of 32 overnight guest. The Bald Rock Lodge has a 2-night minimum and rates on based on seasons.

Our Vista Cliffside Deck, which is used for your ceremony, is reserved separately from our Bald Rock Lodge. The Vista Cliffside Deck can easily accommodate 100 guests. The Cleburne Room is used as a reception area and can be included in certain packages. The Cleburne Room can seat up to 50 guests as a standing reception area.

The Alexander Activities Building is a beautiful private venue that can seat 60 guests. It can be paired with the Redbud Pavilion to provide a rustic outdoor reception venue.

We were married here in September of 2016. It's a phenomenal bargain for those who want to plan most of their wedding. They took care of the food and ceremony chairs and we did the rest. We saved a ton by doing our own bar. I would say that more than 50 people with an indoor dance floor would be tough. But an outdoor dance floor or no dancing and you could fit maybe 100. Also their food was surprisingly good. One last note, their weekday weddings are the best bargain if you can swing it. We were able to do our whole wedding from dress through reception and lodging for under 10k because their prices were reasonable!

My experience with Cheaha

We had a rough time with Cheaha as they switched people in charge of the wedding area 4 times while we were trying to plan our wedding and it was very frustrating and we got ghosted a few times by one lady who was in charge and it was just very confusing but overall we still had a very wonderful wedding. They set up the deck in the arbour perfectly and also the lodge was spectacular I would definitely recommend Mount Cheaha is a wedding venue now that they have situated their staffing.

Very Unprofessional

I made reservations for my wedding, 4/22/23, in June of 2021, planning early to avoid any problems. In the year and a half of planning there were three wedding coordinators that we dealt with, two of them lost all of our reservations to the cabins and chalets, the third did absolutely nothing to help us get any accommodations for our 110 wedding guests and had very poor communication. In the three weeks that we dealt with the new coordinator, I changed and adapted, with no assistance or apologies. They last draw was when I was emailed another contract, completely different from what I already singed when I paid for the deposit, changing rules and regulations. Please reconsider using another venue where you are appreciated for spending all of that money and not treated with such disrespect.

Wedding and Reception

Awful. Room was dirty, ugly with NO services. No storage, no place for caterers. No champagne or alcohol allowed. Bathroom was shared with restaurant....1 stall each bathroom. They were filthy. Guests were backed up trying to get gate passes as no guard on the gate. Venue coordinator was not honest about multiple things, tried to overcharge for multiple items and seemed like she was power grabbing....completely unprofessional. She made the experience a very negative one. No hot water in guest cabins. Overall the park is beautiful for hiking, outdoor activities and photographs but spare yourself money and grief until a decent venue coordinator is in place who knows the job and how to help, not hinder your wedding.
