We got married in Oct 2017. We got the album last week, Dec 2019.

There are so many things that went wrong, at every step of the way that it is hard to decide where exactly to start. When we got the album last week, my wife had tears in her eyes because even after more than 2 years of waiting, we got an album that was worthless. It didn't have even a single edit that we requested based on the draft we got. I will attach pictures here for everyone to know exactly how bad it was.

1. The pictures that were taken on the day of the wedding were of very average quality. Our wedding was in Roaring Camp in Felton, a beautiful location. But Kalyan and his assistant didn't make use of it and took a ton of pictures which weren't with the right angles or cut important parts out of the scene

2. He didn't make sure to take enough pictures with the family members. He should've been driving us to take specific pictures, instead we had to keep calling him to take our picture with our family members.

3. The few photos that he took of the bride while she was getting ready, were really sub-par. She still cringes when she sees them.

4. We were promised that we'll get the raw pictures and videos and those were with Kalyan in his hard disk. For some reason, he didn't want to upload them on Dropbox, just like the finished pictures. Multiple times I tried to set up a time with him to collect them from his office, but every time he was not available. Either outside the town, or busy in some photoshoot. Then he started ghosting us after a few months.

5. It took us a few months to shortlist 250 pictures out of around 2000, including engagement, wedding and reception (taken by someone else and were so much better). When I emailed them that I am ready to send those photos over, I stopped getting any replies from them. I have attached screenshots of SMSes and emails.

6. I have also attached screenshots of emails from other customers to Chayachitra media, which were inadvertenly emailed to us as well.

7. In May 2019, a year after we sent them the shortlisted photos, they said that I will get the album proof in 2 weeks for review. I finally got the album proof in June 2019.

8. Abhishek, the person coordinating from Chayachitra media, said that I can give my edits on the album proof. The album proof was extraordinarily poor. The front page said, "The Wed Story" and I told them to change it to the "The Love Story". There was a picture of my wedding kept alongside the picture of the Mehndi, just completely out of place. There were about 30 edits that we requested, alongside collage drafts. This took us about 6 hours on a weekend.

9. None of the requested edits were done properly. Only a couple of edits were done, and those made the album even worse, as they didn't do it according to how we specified it. We again spent about 6 hours to request the same edits and were even more detailed so that there's no scope for confusion.

10. I wasn't getting any feedback from them for months. Then suddenly, in November, 2 years after our wedding, Abhishek said that they've sent it for printing. When I asked about the final proof in accordance with our edits, he said that the printing team couldn't understand the English. I asked if I should write it in Hindi, but he said no, they've other projects to work on and they can't continue working on our album.

11. At this point my wife didn't want the album any more and wanted to sue them in the Small Claims Court. I, on the other hand, didn't want this to take any more of our time. I just wanted the album and be done with it. We decided to get the album. Abhishek didn't have the balls to give us the album himself so he asked me to pick it up from someone else, who wasn't responsible for the album.

12. The album was a major disappointment when we finally got it in December 2019, more than 2 years after our wedding. It still said, "The Wed Story", it had my misplaced wedding picture between mehndi pictures and the photo in which my wife's mehndi was showing, was cut in half.

13. I called back Abhishek the next day to let him know that this was a ripoff, but he didn't pick up the call.

I hope, sincerely hope, that no one else faces such a treatment from this business ever again. If you're thinking of hiring them for their work, please, think again.
