Historical background

The property hosted a famous wedding in 1490 between Gian Galeazzo Maria Sforza and Isabella of Aragon. For that wedding, Leonardo organized the setting for a grand spectacle, the Feast of Paradise, which aroused great wonder among the many guests.

Location

The location is nestled in the heart of an area where once stretched an immense swamp, Lake Gerundo. According to legend, the lake was home to a dangerous dragon (which marks the coat of arms of the Visconti family and the Visconti Fortress). The surrounding area by way of counterbalance was and is dotted with inns and accommodations.
