Meet the Team

Capitol Canine Weddings is run by Khalia Burke and her husband, a semi-retired PhD with over 40 years of pet care experience - his aunt was a breeder, and his first job as a kid was helping out on her farm. Khalia is trained in first aid and CPR and has worked with senior dogs and special needs dogs. Together they own two cats and two dogs between the ages of one and eight, and they are honored to be a part of your love story and can't wait to hear your big day plans.

Food, Travel, Walks, and Fresh Water

Capitol Canine Weddings will take care of your pet throughout the day and night, whether it's going on walks, traveling to your reception venue, or coordinating with your photographer for the purr-fect pictures. They provide a number of packages depending on the length of time you need their services, anywhere from three to eight hours during the day, with the option of overnight hours always available.

Every wedding gets a custom plan: we meet your dog before the big day, coordinate timing with your planner and photographer, and build the schedule around your ceremony - a ring-bearer walk down the aisle, a cocktail-hour cameo, or quiet company while you get ready. One dog or four corgis, grand venue or backyard: if your best friend belongs at your wedding, we make it easy.
