Our cake looked and tasted amazing! Vivian made the whole process of bringing my dream cake to life so simple and easy. I was looking for a baker that could do sugar flowers, and she was the only baker that I found in the Houston area that could do it. Her cake was beautiful and her attention to all the small details made the cake even better. The cake itself tasted great. We did Raspberry Magic and London Fog and my guests complimented the cake all night. I was so glad to have such unique and still amazing cake flavors to choose from. If you’re going to pick a baker, Vivian is the one to go to!

Our cake was absolutely perfect and exactly what we wanted! We wanted a simple cake and Vivian was so great at meeting with our busy schedule. We made our cake order super late as well where we placed our order about a month in advance and Vivian was so patient with us. We were able to purchase our own faux flowers and just bring them by the bakery which was super convenient. Very good service, beautiful cake, and tasty tasty tasty. Berry chantilly highly recommend!

When booking vendors for your wedding, be sure to know who you are going to be working with. What we thought was going to be a fun process, designing our wedding cake, tasting and all the things everyone talks about turned into one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had and now have to fight to get our money back for services never rendered to us. Completely unprofessional service and other brides I reached out to who have tagged her in post from their wedding day said they wished they paid a little more money for better quality, service and overall experience. I hope in writing this it helps another couple planning their wedding to protect their budget and experience because booking with CBV will cost you both.

Vivian, the owner of CBV, was anything but helpful and pleasant to us. All interactions leading up to the contract seemed normal. Questions got answered and we signed the contract Jan of 2022. She immediately pulled funds for retainer upon signing, but after that we went in total almost 7 weeks before we could get ahold of her again. We felt like she took our money and ran, because we had to message so many times to get a response. After multiple phone calls and emails, we finally heard back because her staff had covid. That we understood. So, we tried to book our tasting with her at the end of Feb 22 for the beginning of April. We again did not hear back from vivan until AFTER the date we wanted to do the tasting had passed, again covid hit her staff. That we understood as well. During this time we tried to do our cake design, going back and forth through email because we are not local to Houston and she did not offer a zoom meeting. After detailed emails and photos we thought our design was down.

We reached out again to try and get a tasting, 6 weeks before we would be in town. We did not hear back from Vivian again until the week we wanted to go in for the tasting, after I sent two follow up emails and my wedding venue also reached out to confirm we could go get a tasting done. At the tasting we could tell she was very annoyed that Our venue reached out to her and again said her staff had covid and appreciated our patience. She started going over design and we felt like she completely dismissed what we wanted. EX) we wanted a smooth buttercream texture but she said twice something about a textured cake. Following this I emailed her about our design and changes that are needed/confirmation she had it right. She did not respond back to us for 3 ½ weeks. We finally got a response back because she responded to our request to respond by a deadline with updates/answers because we told her we felt like she could not fulfill her duties on her contract so she terminated the contract on our behalf.

We were okay with her terminating our contract because we did not feel like we could trust her to show up on our wedding day, let alone pay over 1k for a cake not designed in the way we wanted. But now, we are fighting to get our money from back.

Disappointed. I have tried numerous times to contact Vivian but have not heard back. Vivian was hard to get in contact with even leading up to our wedding. The cake flavors were not what we ordered. We ordered earl grey and cookie butter but it was just vanilla. For the design, we asked for gold foil to be brushed around the cake but instead, it was just flecks. Additionally, I purchased 4 faux magnolias ($16 each) for them to be placed cascading on the cake. I asked Vivian before to make sure she could do this and she agreed. The day of the wedding, she would not place them on the cake, instead, she placed two magnolia leaves and that's it. It looked so silly. I don't even like our cake cutting pictures from our wedding that our photographer took because the cake looks so odd. Very disappointing!
