June 22, 2022, my dreams came true. What everyone did not see was all of the hard work and back and forth that took place to make my dream wedding become a reality.

Charlie helped me shape my vision for our wedding from the first time we met, until the last time we met (still crying because I miss talking with her). Let me preface this review by stating that I am NOT an easy person to deal with…type A, control freak, micromanager. Charlie mitigated my personality type and my million requests by helping me prioritize necessities and focus on details of our wedding bit by bit. She graciously guided us and allowed me to express my vision time and time again. She found answers, ideas, and even encouraged some of the over the top, non traditional aspects I wanted on our special day. My husband Javier and I are so grateful to have had such a wonderful experience with being able to take a back seat when it came to dealing with so many vendors, since Charlie knows the right people and has the great connections! Charlie joined our wedding team as a day-of coordinator very late in the process, and my fiancée and I were honestly so worried things might fall apart. From the moment she stepped in, she completely took charge — organizing vendors, keeping everyone accountable, helping us with décor decisions, and making sure every little detail was covered. She went way above and beyond her role, and our day ran perfectly because of her. If we could do it all over again, we’d 100% hire Charlie for full-service planning. Still so impressed by her professionalism, calm energy, and genuine care.

We contacted Charlie in May for our small August wedding. She accepted the job but told us ahead of time that July was a very busy month for her as she had carnival contracts and some other bookings so contact would be more limited during this time. Whilst this initially concerned us, we liked her work and felt comfortable since she was upfront with us. She did not let us down. As soon as we had signed the paperwork and paid the deposit she started planning. We had a detailed design plan within 3 days and despite it only being 8 people she made us feel we were just as important as a client with 100 guests. She sent us a list of recommended suppliers with instagram links to make it easier for us and connected us direct with those we may have wanted or needed to talk to such as the hair, makeup and photographer. As we were not having friends and family there she organised a live feed online for them to watch and we had a beautiful day at a small beach ceremony followed by a private table at a lovely French waterside restaurant. Charlie recommended we move the event by one day which meant we got to enjoy some live music after dinner without paying for them ourselves and her driver Stanis was excellent and became our local tour guide for the rest of the trip. Thank you Charlie for making our extended elopement one we will always remember, we wish you could come to Chicago to plan our bigger celebration but look forward to seeing you all again one day when we return to beautiful Saint Lucia!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Charlie and the team at By Charlie Events! While our original plan was for her to be our wedding design planner, unexpected last-minute changes with our resort’s policies made that impossible (through no fault of her own). Despite that curveball and her incredibly busy schedule, Charlie still showed up for me in the most thoughtful and impactful way.

She created the most beautiful welcome bags for our destination wedding—every detail was stunning and so well thought out. Our guests were absolutely obsessed with them and couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous and useful they were. The quality, presentation, and care that went into each bag truly set the tone for our celebration.

Charlie’s dedication, professionalism, and heart shine through everything she touches. Even when plans changed, she still found a way to support us and delivered something truly special. We couldnt be more satisfied with our By Charlie experience. Charlie was off work for a few weeks but we were confident in her abilities and everything came out as we wanted it. The vendors she recommended were all friendly, professional and delivered on the day, the event ran smoothly without delays or problems and we had a great evening. She also arranged a boat ride and some excursions as well as creating a website to give guests information they needed. Planned our Christmas Family Party on the 28th December,2024. We were completely impressed with the professionalism and the customer service is second to none, which exceeded our expectations, the event decor was amazing, every detail was perfect. Highly recommend.

My husband and I decided to have a small wedding at a villa in St Lucia with just about 20-30 persons and By Charlie was recommended to us. From start to finish, our wedding was simply magical! The staff were incredibly attentive and the venue itself was breathtaking. the decor was exactly what I asked for, for food was delicious and the atmosphere was so inviting. Our wedding was the day we dreamed of and so much. From the airport shuttles with rum punch, chilled water and motion sickness tablets to the catamaran welcome party through to the end of the wedding where the team personally secured our personal belongings, shoes, veil and even made sure to keep everything we may want as keepsakes. We cannot say more about what this process was to us than amazing. Charlie even when going through her own tough time personally was always so excited to talk to us and kind, sweet, encouraging & enthusiastic about our event. She didn't mention this to us until we asked her about her family and kids one call, my husband has been through her situation before and still says that he cannot believe she delivered how she did so soon after / during this. Whilst there were a couple of deadline delays as a result people forget we are humans.I fight with my large service providers at home every month but people want to demonize a small business for being human. As the owner of a small business myself I was determined to not let our bridezilla/groomzilla side be bigger than our humility- Charlie asked us to trust her and we did and we could not have had a better week. Della was an angel on the day and ensured our guests wanted for nothing even walking my cousins baby around so she could eat her meal properly whilst charlie kept everything running smoothly with the amazing suppliers she found for us and was always checking on us even helping me change my dress and touching up my hair. The decor was incredible, charlie had made a big change to the theme weeks before adding an entirely new idea which she promised me would bring it together as it was missing something and she was right. Everyone said it was like something from a magazine or Pinterest. We had a phone free wedding in honor of my late father who hated cell phones and wanted the photographer to capture it all but when the official pictures come I will add them. Every detail was taken care of including the decor. The staff arrived early to set up and they left the reception areas and kitchen very neat and tidy when it was over. I would highly recommend “By Charlie”.
