June 22, 2022, my dreams came true. What everyone did not see was all of the hard work and back and forth that took place to make my dream wedding become a reality.

Charlie helped me shape my vision for our wedding from the first time we met, until the last time we met (still crying because I miss talking with her). Let me preface this review by stating that I am NOT an easy person to deal with…type A, control freak, micromanager. Charlie mitigated my personality type and my million requests by helping me prioritize necessities and focus on details of our wedding bit by bit. She graciously guided us and allowed me to express my vision time and time again. She found answers, ideas, and even encouraged some of the over the top, non traditional aspects I wanted on our special day. My husband Javier and I are so grateful to have had such a wonderful experience with being able to take a back seat when it came to dealing with so many vendors, since Charlie knows the right people and has the great connections! If you are looking for someone to take your worries away pre wedding, go above and beyond during the wedding, and even become a life long friend post wedding, Charlie is the planner for you. Wish I could give her one million stars! 🥰

We didn't book long before our wedding since we tried to do it alone and failed (badly) however when Charlie stepped in we instantly felt a weight lifted from our chest and the stress melted away. She took charge of clearing up a lot of venue confusions & frustations, filling in the many gaps and also identifying areas we had missed entirely. We only had around 7 weeks until the wedding by the time we found her and she instantly made us feel at peace whilst also making us laugh. she was honest saying she was very busy April so it may be hard for her but we said we didnt mind and wanted her regardless, we knew the communication would be a little less from her telling us that she had back to back April bookings however she said to us TRUST ME, I PROMISE IT WILL BE AMAZING , we did and she over delivered. We only had 28 people and not the biggest budget but with them all being first time visitors to the island there were a lot of nerves and questions.

Charlie also assisted us with airport shuttles (even sending a pack of motion sickness tablets with the driver when I histerically whatsapped her from the gate saying I had packed them somewhere), persuaded us to take a boat excursion which was the best day of the trip besides the wedding, got my dress steamed last minute and took us to the venue for a walk through. I could list so many more things but the review would never end but Charlie, della, roddie and everyone else- THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

We will be bugging you to come visit us here in New Jersey privately but publicly we would just say BOOK CHARLIE- you will NOT regret it. 5 stars with glitter

As I pen this review with the assistance of my newest love AI, I find myself reflecting on the journey that brought us to this point—my role as a self-proclaimed "bridezilla." Since becoming a mother of one child last year and then returning to work shortly after, the challenge of juggling motherhood and a ‘9-5’ career has given me newfound respect for others doing this – far less those running an entire business with more than one child to care for. Our wedding, one of the first Charlie organized post-COVID, was a beautiful affair. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she skillfully designed and managed our special day, ensuring everything was perfect. The wedding was held on a private beach, followed by a scenic boat ride to Pink Plantation for dinner and dancing—truly a dream come true.

During the planning, Charlie was always patient, kind, and helpful. She kept us updated on COVID-related changes, ensuring our guests were well-informed. At the time, I didn't fully appreciate the boundaries she set, often demanding immediate responses and evening calls. Looking back, with the perspective of both a mother and a professional, I realize how unfair my expectations were. With the benefit of hindsight, I understand the immense pressure Charlie must have been under, balancing her young family (two children if memory serves correctly) and a demanding career. Now, as a mother myself, I cannot fathom how she managed it all. My once critical view has evolved into one of admiration and respect for her dedication and professionalism.

Our wedding day was everything we hoped for—gorgeous, simple, and tropical. As we plan to revisit the island for our belated five-year anniversary trip, we are eager to meet Charlie again for a long-overdue thank you and apology dinner. Both my husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Charlie, not just as an exceptional wedding planner but as a kind person.

To Charlie and her team, I extend my sincerest gratitude and apologies. Thank you for your patience, hard work, and understanding. You made our day unforgettable, and for that, we are forever grateful.

From start to finish, Charlie's organisation and communication were great. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, with clear alternative options in place if needed depending on the weather, which made the entire process completely effortless for me. The decor was perfect and personalised, and the overall planning led to an incredible surprise that exceeded all my expectations. My fiancée was absolutely blown away at all the detail that was put into it, from the proposal setup to the dinner after. Highly recommend Charlie to anyone wanting their special moment in St Lucia.

Charlie joined our wedding team as a day-of coordinator very late in the process, and my fiancée and I were honestly so worried things might fall apart. From the moment she stepped in, she completely took charge — organizing vendors, keeping everyone accountable, helping us with décor decisions, and making sure every little detail was covered. She went way above and beyond her role, and our day ran perfectly because of her. If we could do it all over again, we’d 100% hire Charlie for full-service planning. Still so impressed by her professionalism, calm energy, and genuine care.

We contacted Charlie in May for our small August wedding. She accepted the job but told us ahead of time that July was a very busy month for her as she had carnival contracts and some other bookings so contact would be more limited during this time. Whilst this initially concerned us, we liked her work and felt comfortable since she was upfront with us. She did not let us down. As soon as we had signed the paperwork and paid the deposit she started planning. We had a detailed design plan within 3 days and despite it only being 8 people she made us feel we were just as important as a client with 100 guests. She sent us a list of recommended suppliers with instagram links to make it easier for us and connected us direct with those we may have wanted or needed to talk to such as the hair, makeup and photographer. As we were not having friends and family there she organised a live feed online for them to watch and we had a beautiful day at a small beach ceremony followed by a private table at a lovely French waterside restaurant. Charlie recommended we move the event by one day which meant we got to enjoy some live music after dinner without paying for them ourselves and her driver Stanis was excellent and became our local tour guide for the rest of the trip. Thank you Charlie for making our extended elopement one we will always remember, we wish you could come to Chicago to plan our bigger celebration but look forward to seeing you all again one day when we return to beautiful Saint Lucia!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Charlie and the team at By Charlie Events! While our original plan was for her to be our wedding design planner, unexpected last-minute changes with our resort’s policies made that impossible (through no fault of her own). She created the most beautiful welcome bags for our destination wedding—every detail was stunning and so well thought out. Our guests were absolutely obsessed with them and couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous and useful they were. We couldnt be more satisfied with our By Charlie experience. Charlie was off work for a few weeks but we were confident in her abilities and everything came out as we wanted it. The vendors she recommended were all friendly, professional and delivered on the day, the event ran smoothly without delays or problems and we had a great evening. She also arranged a boat ride and some excursions as well as creating a website to give guests information they needed. Planned our Christmas Family Party on the 28th December,2024. We were completely impressed with the professionalism and the customer service is second to none, which exceeded our expectations, the event decor was amazing, every detail was perfect. Highly recommend.
