While looking at potential vendors for our wedding, a very unprofessional woman, who did anything but her job, was supposed to walk us around and paint a beautiful picture for us, so we can see ourselves getting married at that particular location. Needless to say, the only good that came from meeting that woman was the pamphlet that she handed us after our meeting. This pamphlet consisted of generic advertising of local wedding vendors, bakeries, DJs, photographers-you know-the usual. Very quickly did I look through one of the books the woman had provided. That is all I needed before something would catch my eye! One thing-and one thing only: Brides Against Breast Cancer. I grew ecstatic! I told my fiance (now husband), immediately, that I had found the perfect place to buy my wedding gown! I purchased tickets for the next time BABC would be in my area, invited some female relatives, and we all had the greatest time! Fun photo booth, contests, drinks, fun interviews, good company, assistance, and support. The perfect thing for such an environment: Support, being empowered by other woman, exchanging compliments, and all being there for a good cause! It was such a fantastic experience! ...I wish I could do it all over again! :-P BABC travels all around the nation with donated dresses (which will fund breast cancer research itself). They coordinate with willing company, who will provide the space for the event. They do a great job at helping you forget that you are not at a traditional wedding gown shop, plus some. It's even better! The people who will be assisting you in finding a dress is volunteering their time, dedicated to helping you find the perfect dress, at a discount, to match your style and budget. A big round of applause to this wonderful foundation!
