As a wedding planner who works with BreadGarden Market Catering often, they’re truly one of our go-to teams in the Iowa City area. Their communication is reliable, the food is always good, and they genuinely care about making every event a success. Christa is fantastic to work with—organized, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile—and the rest of the team is just as great. They’re easy to collaborate with, dependable on event days, and consistently deliver a great experience for both our couples and their guests. We love working with BreadGarden and highly recommend them for weddings and events.

Bread Garden provided catering for my wedding reception, and it was fantastic! They served appetizers, a meal, and desserts (including cake, a dessert bar, and coffee). Some of the highlights were the bacon-wrapped dates, beef tenderloin, and champagne cake, but they have a large menu for you to select from. They also had optional kids meals, so kids could have chicken strips and mac and cheese.

I had so many guests come up to me and ask who catered the meal, or call me the next week and rave about the appetizers! Christa, the catering director, was so professional and helpful in answering questions and keeping me organized, and the staff that worked at the event were so kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Bread Garden Market for any catering needs - they were amazing!!!

I hired them for my wedding, and it was the most delicious wedding food I’ve ever had, and a majority of our guest have told us the same. Not to mention their service, attention to detail and coordination with our venue exceeded all expectations.

Bread Garden catered our daughter’s wedding for 250 people on Saturday July 29. Their service was top notch and the food was excellent. Presentation and service on the buffet line was smooth, organized and timely.
The planning process ahead of the wedding was also smooth and easy. Christa was always responsive and helpful. We would recommend to anyone planning a wedding!

Bread Garden was a dream come true for hiring a caterer for our daughter's wedding. We are not local, so the prompt communication and informative recommendations were a blessing. Even a last minute addition of an item for delivery was executed smoothly. The food and wine was exquisite. We were in Iowa City for a week and found ourselves eating and shopping at Bread Garden daily. Even if you are not in need of a caterer, please make time for a trip to Bread Garden. It's a treat!!!

The best catering company out there! If we could give more than 5 stars we definitely would. Never thought I’d meet someone more organized than me but Christa might be that person. :) She is extremely on top of the ball, very responsive, and definitely someone that you can trust to perfectly execute your catering event. She also spent extensive time answering all my questions during our tasting and via email and response time was always very fast. Every minute detail was accounted for, down to ensuring what color serving platters or type of disposable plates we wanted for apps/desserts.

We got so many compliments on our wedding food to the point where people were still talking about the food a week later! Sometimes food isn’t the most memorable thing from someone’s wedding day but definitely something that we and our guests will remember from our wedding day. Both sides of our families have amazing cooks so our whole family is honestly very picky when it comes to food so it is a HUGE compliment to say that there were no complaints and everything was cooked to perfection! Would recommend for catering to anyone and everyone planning a wedding and have already sent a few referrals Christa’s way :)

Our guests loved the food. Christa was so helpful, even helped me with a to-go tasting as we were trying to choose caterers during Covid-19! They were even able to accommodate our vegan guest. The staff was experienced and didn't need any guidance for set up!

We had a great experience working with Bread Garden to plan our day - from a champagne toast after the ceremony, to cocktail hour appetizers, to dinner and finally our cookie tower, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted! They even offered wine service during dinner which was such a nice touch for our guests. We absolutely loved the food and everything was hot and delicious when it hit the table even though we opted for a plated meal for our guests. They are truly flexible and will work with you to do things the way you want. BG is also EXTREMELY accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions, so I highly recommend them if that is a concern for you or any of your guests. Allison was incredible to work with. She was open to an ultimate burger bar idea despite never doing it before and our food was talked about all night long on the quality of the ingredients and taste. Not one burger was dry. She was quick to respond and very organized. If you’re looking for a creative buffet bar or just great food in general I highly recommend!
