Nightmare experience
Based on my recent experience, I strongly do NOT recommend Blo Blow Dry Bar for your bridal party services. I had seven in total and I found working with Afsheen (the owner) to be difficult and her professional flexibility lacking.
It felt like a stickup. Prior to my wedding, we agreed that I would pay 50% deposit for her services and the remainder 50% after her services were rendered.
I communicated that my MIL + SIL wanted blowouts on Saturday when her team chased me for them. I offered to explore alternate solutions to give them that "blow-out" look. I can only prove with text receipts that I offered to bring any tools onsite, but we discussed coming into the salon to make this happen over the phone.
However, Afsheen was not flexible or accommodating with us AT ALL. It was at this moment (on the night before my wedding while I was at my rehearsal dinner) that she demanded the remaining 50% total be paid by 5pm that evening. She set a timer. If I did not Venmo her in time, I would not receive my 50% deposit back that I had already paid.
This whole thing felt like a money grab. Brides, here are few more things to consider before deciding to Blo your Big Day: It's $125 per service & the hair options are weakkkk for what I consider a HAIR salon. That price means no updo, no braid, no blow out for $125 + a "contractually mandatory 20% tip". So what do they do for $125? For a place that prides itself on it's blow-outs, it's only a flat iron and a curling iron - a blow dryer is not considered a hot tool.
Additionally, Afsheen decided at this time to up-charge my 12-year-old sister's makeup as an adult, even though she had quoted me an express charge of $75 previously.
Ultimately, how Afsheen handled this situation left me feeling chaotic the night before my wedding. Family members involved described their experience with Blo as inappropriate, unprofessional, and shocking. I wouldn't do this again.
