We searched for months to find the perfect outdoor venue for our wedding and we chose the Blanton House. This was perfect for us because upstairs there are separate ladies and gents getting ready suites, a handicapped accessible bathroom on the main floor, a full kitchen, areas inside to house cake, gifts, and something like a photo booth, and more. On the outside they supply a white tent that has removable sides, tables and chairs, as well as extra chairs for an outside ceremony. Our day went really smoothly and we had only a few hiccups.Sent on 10/18/2015
In the time frame from when we initially booked, the House had 3 different people employed as the venue manager. When we arrived on the Friday before the wedding my mother was livid at the amount of trash we had to pick up outside. There was no joke over 300 cut plastic zip ties we had to pick up and throw away (it was obvious someone used them to attach lights then just left the mess). There were over 100 sparkler sticks and cigarette butts in the drive, and dozens of water bottle lids in the bushes. My mother also had to run a sweeper to remove TONS of silver glitter that was all over the staircase and floor and we had to wipe down the kitchen. It just seemed dirty and unkempt. Yes, the house is old but when you are paying what we paid it should have been clean and ready for us to use. The only other issue we ran into was we had a photo booth arrive to set up in the living room - and none of the outlets worked. They ended up having to run an extension cord from somewhere to get the unit to work. All in all we had a great day with a picturesque venue which is what we wanted. The hours are also flexible if you book the Peak Package instead of just Saturday so you can set up on the Friday before. I will say the real value is in the tent, tables, and chairs. If we had gone with another outdoor venue and had to rent these items from a vendor it would have cost us between $800-$1200 in just rentals.
