Kate is an award-winning floral designer living and growing her own flowers in Big Sur, California. She specializes in weddings.

As a boutique farmer florist, twigs, sprigs, flowers and fruits are the craft and passion of Kate’s art. Growing up in a creative and artistic Big Sur family, Kate chose floral design as her medium. A lifelong resident of Big Sur with English roots, Kate has provided floral arrangements for weddings and special events for over 25 years. She has worked with thousands of clients – from large, exclusive inns to private venues, intimate elopements, celebrities and locals alike. Kate knows the Central Coast well, often guiding clients to the location best suited for their event, whether large or small.

Kate’s love affair with flowers began as a 10-year-old in her aunt’s sixteenth century English cottage garden with a small child’s bundle of fragrant lavender tied with a string. Since that day, she has never looked back. Today, as a connoisseur of all things botanic, she grows much of what she uses in her award-winning designs on her Big Sur ridge top.

Specially chosen during her days as a vendor at the famous London antique street markets of Portabella Road and Camden Passage, she has an extensive collection of vintage glass, silver plate, brass, and copper containers. She also has a large variety of handmade redwood boxes, all of which lend her designs originality and timeless beauty.

She studied with both the Constance Spry and Jane Packer Schools of Floral Design and believes flowers are the ultimate accessory to any event. She is an artistic free spirit, mixing her garden flowers with foraged Big Sur wild flowers, all with the guiding mantra of…Simple, Elegant, Whimsical & Wild. Working closely with her clients, she creates designs that are within their budget and that are the style desired…vintage elegance, rustic chic, or minimalist contemporary designs are all possible. Intimate elopements or grand and lavish affairs are all part of what she provides. She believes flowers mirror the beauty of love and inspire joy at all celebrations.
