Ben & Jerry's doesn't make wedding cakes, they make "cakes for weddings". When our guests found out that we were having ice cream cake for our wedding cake, they FLIPPED OUT. We got 2 sheet cakes and a cute cutting cake (round circle) and they were absolutely delicious. Obviously. They were made out of ice cream, so yeah. We bought enough for every guest to have at least once slice, and thinking that not everyone would indulge we also had a dessert table with a wide assortment of brownies, pastries, cookies, etc. so that everyone would have an option. Well we could have saved a ton of money on the other desserts because NO ONE ATE THEM, and everyone devoured the delicious ice cream cake instead. It was one of the most talked about things on facebook after the wedding was over. It is also worth noting that for 2 giant sheet cakes and a small round cutting one (that I ate pretty much on my own) it only cost $112 total.
So yeah, we nailed this wedding cake thing and ordered from Ben & Jerry's. Even though they can't make tiered cakes or super fancy designs, no one will care because they are eating ice cream and you are now their best friend. Your guests will love you forever and you will come in way under budget.
