Angela from Balloons with a Twist added such a fun and unique element to our 'Dia de los Muertos' style wedding at the Hard Rock on the Las Vegas Strip this past Oct 31. Her creativity got the guests very excited about our theme and everyone had something very fun to bring to the party and to share with each other. As the bride she did a very beautiful calavera on myself as well as on other ladies. Everyone had a unique design! She also brought stick-on face gems that added an element I've never seen before. The gems were great for calaveras as well as for flowers and butterflies. One of our lady guests had Mike Tyson's face tattoo painted on, and a gentleman guest had a spider web and spider painted in his bald spot. Others got cool shoulder art that matched their outfits. From what we were wearing she could get a sense of our personality and brought it out in what she painted on us.

I was hesitant to do my face myself for fear of it being itchy makeup. Do not fear! She uses very high quality makeup and it did not itch at all. It lasted all night!

Hiring Angela as your face painter will be a great addition to any party and will get you in the mood to break the ice and share with each other! We were originally debating on this element, but it ended up being the hit of the party.

She was also willing to stay later when at the 11th hour we decided to extend our party! I know it's difficult sometimes to stay away from families but it was wonderful that she could do that.

Overall, we are very happy we hired a caricature artist through "Balloons With A Twist," for our reception event. The artist did a great job on the pictures; she was very talented and skilled. Our guests were pleased to get their portraits sketched as wedding favors.

There were a couple small disappointments we had with this company. Firstly, when I initially booked the artist, the Office Manager said that if we wanted the caricature artist to stay longer at the event, we should just let her know the night of, and pay her the extra money at that time. However, the night of our event, my husband asked the caricature artist to stay and do one more portrait (there was one more couple who wanted theirs done), but she declined; so that was a little disappointing. :( We should have booked her for longer, so my advise is to to book the artist for the entire event, because she was quite popular.

Furthermore, my husband and I both emailed and called the company and asked for documentation that we paid a deposit of $90.00 before the event (we didn't want any unexpected payment problems the night of our event). They said over the phone that they would confirm that they received our deposit through email, which they didn't follow-up on. We wanted clarification because there was never any contract written up, which made us a bit nervous since we had booked over the phone verbally, and paid so many months in advance. In our opinion, It would have been helpful--and made us feel more secure about our purchase--to have an accurate and detailed invoice from them at the time of purchase. They did send us an invoice at the very end (right before our event date), but it was incomplete and did not include the deposit we had initially paid. We personally appreciate thoroughness, attention to detail, and full documentation from companies we're doing business with, especially when you don't want anything to go wrong when planning a wedding. Despite the confusion over payment, everything ended up working out well, the company acknowledged our deposit verbally, and our guests truly enjoyed their sketches at the event. The issues we personally had were very small, but we still wanted to mention them because they were honest concerns we had regarding the transactions and communication with the company.

I would recommend this company for your next event because our caricature artist was such a huge hit with our guests, and she was very talented with the sketches. It was a great purchase all-in-all! Thanks so much! :)
