Working with Ashley was an absolute treat. We wanted the world from our photographer, and she totally delivered. We contracted her for the total package - a boudoir shoot, two engagement shoots (a daytime mountain shoot and a nighttime urban shoot), rehearsal dinner coverage, and wedding day coverage. She is competitively priced, and was willing to work with us around our specific desires. When COVID derailed our original big wedding plans, she was flexible with her pricing so we weren't paying for services we weren't getting anymore, and she let us delay the boudoir and second engagement shoots at no extra cost. Not to mention, the finished products were all SO worth it. We are in love with her romantic, moody editing style, and her ability to capture candid moments. And for the posed pictures, we were grateful for her guidance and direction - we trusted her, and it always paid off with something visually stunning. On top of her talent, she is a wonderful human being, with so much empathy and kindness. Working with us through the pandemic was a special challenge, and we're thankful we had her as part of our vendor team to weather the storm. We would recommend her without hesitation!!

My fiance and I were just glowing and so giddy after our session with Ashley! From the first time that we reached out to Ashley, to showing up at the park for our snowy engagement session, she was wonderful! Pete and I knew that we wanted to work with her because we were drawn to her style and the natural & loving moments she captures in all of her images. When planning for our wedding, it took hours upon hours to find the perfect photographer. When we came across Ashley’s work, we knew she would be perfect. From the beginning, she took the time to help us understand our aesthetic and figure out how to give us what we wanted. The biggest surprise was when she showed up on our wedding day with new tools to experiment and give us the exact shots we wanted. Ashley truly loves her career path and is always learning new techniques. Her down to earth, open to learning and listening personality is what makes her so easy to work with as well. Ashley is the best! She perfectly captured our wedding vibe in her photos. Our venue was very industrial (no perfect flower gardens or landscaped backgrounds), but she was able to use her artistic eye and creative talent to really bring out the beauty in the architecture and industrial, rustic setting. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. She was also super organized and easy to work with, and had great cues for getting us to laugh and look natural. We had a great experience with her.

Our story with Ashley Joyce began the way many great friendships start - having a couple beers. We had scheduled several photographers to interview that day, and our planners Vicki and Jerry set up our meeting with Ashley at a local brewery to soften the potential first-date jitters. Joey and I both admitted later we felt she was "the one" the moment she walked in. Ashley has a kindness and calmness about her that puts everyone at ease. After learning a little about her and then describing what we were looking for with our wedding, Ashley walked us through her creative concept. By the time we finished our beer, we told Vicki and Jerry to cancel the other photographer interviews, knowing we were in good hands.
Our deeper friendship with Ashley developed when she came to Chicago, our home, to shoot engagement pictures. We were both very nervous, as neither of us is very comfortable in front of the camera. But Ashley's steady hand helped us find our peace, as she captured our love for the city, and for each other. After the perfect sunset light faded, the three of us joined other friends for dinner and drinks, exploring the Chicago night life together.
The Big Day rushes by in a blur, and we are certain it's difficult to separate specific photographers from the pack when it comes to wedding day photos. But in describing her influence on our wedding weekend, the most incredible gift Ashley gave us was her ability to capture all we couldn't see. We are still amazed, every time we look at our photos, at the expanse of experiences our guests shared while our attention was focused elsewhere. Ashley allowed us to simply be in our moment with each other, while she weaved the rest of the tapestry for us through her artistry. This is the true genius of her craft.

What can I possibly say? Having Ashley photograph our wedding was just like having a close friend hanging out with us. We never felt uncomfortable or even aware of the camera, and her photography is documentary art. She joked later that she must have had a crew working with her behind the scenes because it seemed like she was able to be multiple places at once. It's incredible what she was able to do with just one camera. We will never forget this day, and that's because we were happy, supported, and we have these images to last us a lifetime. We could not have made a better decision having Ashley there to document the whole thing. She goes above and beyond and also happens to be a great person to spend the day with! We simply cannot thank her enough!
