About Artistry in Focus
To devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively.
That is how webster.com defines addicted. And I would have to say that this is a very fitting definition for how I am with photography. I have tried to give it up in the past but I just keep coming back to it.
Emotion. I recently discovered that is my forte, you could say. I started photographing people and weddings about 10 years ago and then stepped out of the field for a few years.
Recently stepping back into this world of photography, I questioned what made me different from other photographers. As stated above, it's all about emotion, about capturing memories that bring you back to a specific moment, whether it be on your wedding day or stepping into your family for a short time to endeavor to capture the essence of who you are.
But you may say, that is what I DO. . .not who I AM.
Well, it is both actually. The more I tried to deny myself as a photographer, the more I realized it was a part of me that could not be ignored. That is what I bring to the table each time I photograph you and your beloved.
But, when I am not scratching my photographic itch, I am chasing after my 6 year old son, Liam, and answering his endless stream of questions. I also, along with my dear husband, am a huge fan of movies and music of all kinds. However, most of my spare time is spent showing my concern for my fellowman as part of a worldwide Bible education work.
