These ladies were awesome! My mom and I are not salon kind of people becuase in past experiences we weren't overlly satisfied with the quality of service. BUT Art of Hair took the time to really listen to what we had in mind and deliver with outstanding results on the day of the wedding. What I was most impressed with was the transformation of my mom's hair. Art of Hair spent 7 months leading up to the wedding to essentially bring my mom's hair back from the dead. Even though we live over an hour away we have both decided this is our salon.

Serena and her team at the Art of Hair did an amazing job on my hair and makeup. I originally chose them mostly due to convenience since they were located right next to my venue. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of service. At my trial I had brought a few photos and she did a few different looks for me. On the day of my wedding she was able to perfectly recreate the photo of what I wanted. I felt amazing and my makeup and hair looked great in the photos. It lasted all night. The only critique I have is because Serena wants everything to be perfect, the appointment does take longer than I thought. You might want to take that into consideration if you have a large party to get done.

Overall, I had a great experience. I was coming in from out of town to get married and couldn't do a consultation. Surena talked to me over the phone and had me email some shots of what I liked and some shots of me so she could see what I look like. One the day of the wedding, it seemed she had a clear understanding of the vintage/romantic look I wanted. I was given a quick tour of the salon, shown where the bathroom and snacks were and filled out a short form. I then realized you can't tip on your credit card and I ran out to an ATM (in the same complex)...when I got back, Surena was french braiding someone else's hair and I had to wait maybe 7 minutes for that to finish and for that woman to pay. This was odd, especially when I'd arrived a couple minutes early for my appointment, so running out for less than 5 minutes to get cash didn't set them back officially. Surena did a great job on my hair, but I wish I'd been more explicit in exactly what I wanted. It was a bit less simple and physically larger than I'd pictured (and what my pictures showed). But it did definitely capture the overall style and feel. If I'd had a consultation, I'm sure it would have been 100% what I was thinking. Surena was responsive to the few adjustments I asked for during the appointment - in fact, she handed me the mirror at points to check in and make sure we were on the right track. It was also a bit more expensive than I'd originally expected. When I first called them, I just asked about an undo and the quote was cheaper - but there's a markup for a bride, even if the style isn't any more complicated (I had no veil or any decorations in my hair)...but I found this was true of all salons. In the end my hair still looked natural (I was afraid of crunchy looking hair!) and it mostly lasted through all of my dancing! A note: one person said Surena was rude. She has a low key demeanor and isn't super energetic and chipper, but she is focused on you and listens to what you want.
