Working with Amy Cakes was an interesting and fun experience. Amy was a great communicator - fun personality and very prompt in responding to us. She is available via phone call and text. First my fiancé and I were asked to pick out 4 of our top flavors and 2-3 icings of our choice. My fiancé and I had to meet her on a week day/night at her shop in Wallingford; that is a bit of a hike for us, but the shop was very cute and examples of her work were all around. She was very fun to chat with while we tasted the cakes (which she makes into muffins for the tasting) and icings. We then selected the number of tiers we wanted and discussed with her our ideas, both via Pinterest and as she drew out the design in her book. She told us to select a few toppers from Etsy and in the end, considering we never actually saw the cake until our wedding day, she definitely nailed the topper! Amy makes sure that the bride and groom have the final say in the design, although she is happy to hear suggestions from others with the bride and groom’s approval. She also does her best to work with the bride and groom’s budget. The only thing I wish could have been done differently is seeing the cake as a finished product before the event. It is hard to imagine what a cake will look like if only drawn on a piece of paper. If we had seen it prior, we would have added more design; it turns out that our idea was too simple and it looked it. It looked pretty but could have had more pizazz. Otherwise, the cake tasted great and we look forward to seeing the professional pics!

The cake was beautiful & everything we hoped it would be to make our day complete.The guests are still raving about the cake & how delicious it was.Definitely recommend Amy for weddings but we also plan on using her for future parties as well.Thank you ❤️

Amy is amazing to work with. We used her for our May 2022 wedding. From the caking testing, where we brought our 4 children, who are all hard to please, to the amazing spread at our wedding, there was no detail left untouched! We originally thought we wanted just a wedding cake. After bringing the kids with us and no one agreeing on a flavor, we went with cupcakes in everyone’s favorites, plus a TON of other desserts. Plus, we still got our wedding cake! Amy did fake tiers and the real cake as the top tier….no one knew it wasn’t a real cake.

Amy not only made our wedding cake exactly how we wanted it, but she also made an amazing dessert table to go along with it ! Large variety to choose from and it was absolutely beautiful. Not to mention very delicious ! She's highly professional and I suggest using her for any type of event.

The baker I originally chose for my wedding cake refused to make my cake when we postponed our wedding due to Covid. I am so thankful they did, because it led me to Amy Cakes. Amy is amazing- so kind and welcoming. Her cake tastings are a real experience - with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. You really feel special while getting to taste the delicious cake flavors! Her artistry is spectacular! I gave her a photo of the cake I wanted and what she created was even better than what I had imagined. Amy Cakes makes stunning cakes that taste delicious (our top tier was just as good as it was at our tasting a whole year later!!!)- you will not be disappointed.

Amy has made all of my special occasion cakes and has out done herself each time! The attention to detail that she has and the creativity to each cake she makes in unbelievable. Not only is her work beautiful, it tastes incredible! She truly is an artist! I highly recommend her to anyone who has a special event coming up!!

We went with Amy Cakes for our dessert table at our wedding and it was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made! Not only do the flavors taste amazing but everything looks stunning and is made to perfection. Amy will work with with you to make sure your vision comes to life and she is extremely talented. The dessert table at our wedding was the biggest hit and we received countless compliments.
Everything was absolutely delicious and there was hardly any desserts left over. This place is an absolute gem. If you want authentic cakes that are fresh and delicious then you should definitely give this place a try.
