I live about 20 miles southwest of Downtown Chicago. I was planning a surprise proposal in Durango, Colorado, a place that I had never been to before. After some online research regarding photographers in the Durango, Colorado area, I decided to contact Allison. Allison eased my worries, and it was terrific to work with her.

Spoiler Alert...She said YES!!!

I wanted to make sure the proposal was special for my fiancée. When she was younger, she enjoyed family vacations, which included a stay at the Durango Red Lion Inn (now the DoubleTree) on the Animas River. She is also very close to her parents but does not see them as often as she would like as they live in Des Moines. After a couple of phone calls and emails with Allison, she visited the hotel. She worked with one of the managers (Jamie) at the DoubleTree to identify a picturesque location along the river for the proposal. Additionally, this location was visible from her parent's hotel room, so they could see the proposal as it happened.

Once the location was identified, Allison sent me photos to make sure I knew where to ask the question. I was nervous because I wanted everything to go perfectly, but I had never been to Durango before. Allison also came up with the plan to have a photo shoot with one of her assistants near the location, so she did not look out of place but could capture the moment of a lifetime. The proposal was perfect, thanks to all the hard work and help from Allison. In addition to the proposal, I scheduled an engagement photo shoot with Allison two days after the proposal. Allison recommended a salon for my fiancée to have her hair and makeup done for the engagement photo shoot. She recommended Hair Fusion, and they were wonderful as well.

The original plan for the engagement photo shoot was to visit various waterfalls near Silverton. The day before the engagement photo shoot, we decided to drive to Silverton. Unfortunately, we both experienced altitude sickness. We spoke with Allison, and without hesitation, she came up with an alternate location (La Plata Canyon). Allison was able to capture amazing photos with the golden aspens and found a smaller hidden waterfall. Allison's knowledge about the Durango area is impressive. When speaking to many people in Durango at various businesses, we would mention how great Allison was, and almost everyone in town knew of her expertise.

We cannot thank Allison enough. She is amazing, easy to work with, and provided photos quickly after the engagement and photo shoot. Her prices are also very fair, given the level of service that she provided.

Allison was my absolute favorite wedding vendor and that speaks volumes because everyone of my vendors was phenomenal! We originally booked Allison when we were visiting family in Colorado as I had a vision for waterfall engagement pictures. Allison picked an amazing location that everyone continues to ask me about because they all want to go there now and the photos were outstanding! After receiving our photos, we knew we wanted Allison to photograph our wedding. The idea of hiring a vendor so far away was initially scary but working with Allison was an absolute dream! From day one she was amazing, always so quick to respond and went above and beyond, even coordinating with my videographer and planner. Allison and her husband Matt travelled all the way down to Fredericksburg, Texas to photograph our wedding. They captured everything, I would merely think oh I would like a photo with this person, and I would turn, and they would be right there ready to capture the moment. Not only are they incredibly talented but they were so fun to be around, they helped us create so many fun memories that we will cherish forever. Oh! And let’s not forget how incredibly fast Allison was getting our photos back to us. I have never met a photographer as quick as she is, I really don’t know how she does all that she does! She takes an immense amount of pride in her work, and it is so refreshing to work with someone who genuinely cares so much. Allison and Matt have the kindest souls. I felt like they were long lost members of the family. We are already planning to bring our future babies to Colorado one day so Allison can work her magic capturing more important moments of our lives.

I was very happy working with Allison. She was on time, flexible, and very very sweet. I love that her photos have a classic and timeless look to them. She did a fantastic job capturing our outdoor wedding!
