The original building was erected in 1952 as an homage to the Allen County war heroes from World War II. Several additions and modernizations happened throughout the 80s and early 2000s. By 2015, the Conference Center was added to the south end of the Expo Center, making it the second largest public assembly facility in the state of Indiana. Total square footage of the center is more than one million square feet.
