Alexandria Transit Company (DASH) is an award-winning public transit company located in Alexandria, Virginia that offers charter services for weddings and other special events. DASH provides safe, affordable, professional, and comfortable transportation within Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Services Offered

Bridal Party - why use a limo or black-car service when you can arrive in style in a bus type of your choice? We can pick you up from your residence/hotel and transport the bridal party to photo op locations and to the venue.

Guest Shuttle - our various bus types can accommodate your party of any size with shuttle services to/from your venue by completing loops (back and forth) or doing one-way drop-offs and pick-ups.

Other - not a wedding? no problem! We can also transport you and your guests to any destination in the DMV area for any purpose, just let us know your details.

Fleet

Please see our fleet information photo on our storefront page for all our bus types! We have trolley buses, transit buses, and motor coach buses, including brand-new electric buses!

  • Trolley Buses can seat between 28 and 32 passengers. An additional 10-15 standees are permitted for local trips not requiring highway travel. Our 28-seat Trolley is our smallest-sized bus and most versatile bus for maneuvering in tight areas. These buses are available for regional/local travel. These buses are ADA-compliant with wheelchair accessibility.
  • Regular Transit Buses (similar to city metro buses) can seat between 32 and 38 passengers. An additional 10-15 standees are permitted for local trips not requiring highway travel. These buses are available for regional/local travel. These buses are ADA-compliant with wheelchair accessibility. Some electric bus options are available.
  • Articulated Electric Transit Buses can seat 50 passengers. An additional 15-20 standees are permitted for local trips not requiring highway travel. These buses are available for local travel only.
  • Commuter Transit Buses can seat 46 passengers. These buses have customized cushion seats similar to a coach bus and are available for regional/local travel. These buses are not equipped with ADA-compliant equipment.
  • Motor Coach Buses can seat up to 55 passengers. These buses have comfortable cushion seating and are available for longer distances. These buses are not equipped with ADA-compliant equipment.

Amenities

Upon request, you can enjoy red carpet service and wedding signage on your trip.

We loved using the King Street trolley for our wedding!

We used Alexandria Transit Company to book a trolley bus as our wedding party transportation and for guest shuttle service between the hotel and our venue, and it was wonderful! Our contact, Kevin Hernandez, was incredibly responsive and worked with me to figure out an itinerary that met our needs. Our driver, Mr. Jermaine Buchannan, was very friendly and kept us right on schedule. Using the trolley bus also added some very fun local flavor to our day, and our guests loved it! Highly recommend for anyone planning a wedding in Alexandria!

Excellent Service!

Excellent wedding transportation!

We booked DASH’s trolley for our 10/14/2023 wedding. It was perfect! They were responsive and flexible leading up to the wedding. The day off, our driver was on time and flexible in taking us to a second location for pictures. Everyone loved how unique the trolley was, too. It’s also a great value! Highly recommend.

Great vendor at an affordable price point

I cannot recommend Alexandria Transit Co. more highly. They were very responsive, accommodating and affordable. My wedding was about an hour from Alexandria, but even so, both their vehicles arrived early and were flexible when we had to make a last-minute change. On top of that, people loved riding in one of their iconic trolleys.

Best way to dont worry

The bus is cute and covid protocole. Help A LOT to transport my guest in the cherry blossom in D.C. , we now that traffic and parking its a big problem in the weddings . So don't worry give your guest the option of the bus so they can enjoy the day instead of be worried about the car.

Lovely Trolley Ride for our Wedding

Alexandria Transit Company was great to work with and they really brought some unique touches to our wedding day. Kevin was easy to deal with and very responsive.

We used them to transport our wedding party from our residence to one of the the Gazebos on the Potomac in Old Town Alexandria. When I explained that one of our guest was 102 and would have trouble walking from the street to the Gazebo, they were able to arrange for the trolley to drop the wedding party off in Thompson's alley. They even sent a supervisor to the alley to ensure the drop off went well and to help turn the trolley around. We really appreciated this accommodation.

We had one small hiccup when it came to one of our scheduled pick ups. The driver misunderstood some of our plans. I am not sure where the breakdown in communication happened. But the mistake was rectified relatively quickly.

All in all I am glad that we used them. It was a very inexpensive and unique way to transport our guest.

Great price, fun option for wedding transportation!

We hired a trolley to transport guests staying in Old Town from the hotel to our venue. The price was super reasonable and our guests loved riding the trolley. It was especially cool to see our names on the trolley and lots of guests took photos. This is a great option if you're looking for something unique, fun, and reasonably priced. It took a while for some emails to be replied to, but overall the team was great and it was a great choice for wedding transportation!
