The Alaska Aviation Museum opened to the public in 1988, but it’s conception began over a decade earlier with the formation of the Alaskan Historical Aircraft Society, founded by Ted Spencer in 1977. Since it’s doors opened the Alaska Aviation Museum has been committed to displaying, preserving, and honoring Alaska’s rich aviation history. Over the years, they have collected aircrafts and memorabilia from all eras pertaining to Alaska’s historical aviation pursuits.
