Welcome to A.W. Confections, a premier, private, pastry shop. We are nestled in the Heart of the Berkshires. We specialize in custom made wedding cakes, desserts, and pastries.

A.W. Confections the beginning.... A.W. Confections all started with a small girl watching her mom bake and decorate cakes in her kitchen. She quickly learned these cakes were a labor of love.
I am that girl, Andrea Wadsworth. I have been creating cakes for over 21 years. And each cake is a labor of love. Almost fifteen years ago, I built a fully licensed kitchen in our home. This kitchen allowed me to sell retail and advertise. Although quickly I realized I did not need to advertise at all. All of our business is word of mouth or reference based.
It is not uncommon to make a bridal shower cake, wedding cake, baby shower cake, and then first birthday cake and so on for one person. Not uncommon at all!!
And so a dream was born, welcome to my dream.......A.W. Confections!

Who is who?

There is Andrea Wadsworth, an Award winning, published, Master Pastry chef. Creating everything from cupcakes to UPS trucks. Andrea is the ultimate creator, baker, designer, and decorator of your cake. It is all in the details.

Then there is Karen, Andrea's mom. A great soul, Karen helps deliver cakes and pays attention to every detail that is required. A perfectionist at heart. AND I must say without Karen's passion for picture taking, we would not be able to enjoy all the great pictures here. She is A.W. Confections resident photographer.

Of course there is Kevin, Airen, and Tori, Andrea's family. They are the one's who hold the doors, wait for inevitable late picker uppers....Every good foundation starts with strong blocks.

The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful. I was very worried upon planning our wedding that we would be stuck choosing between an artistically pleasing cake and one you actually enjoyed eating. Then I remembered Andrea and her bakery. I was so happy to find out she was both available for our date and was able to deliver to our venue in Springfield, MA. I highly recommend the tasting process as it allows you to have even more of her cakes. Her ability to listen to our ideas for a cake and produce one that was even better than we pictured, she is truly an artist.

Andrea was a pleasure to email with while deciding on the flavor and appearance of our wedding cake. The cake itself was so delicious and it was fun to be able to have multiple flavors - one per layer. Andrea worked with us to make the cake nut-free. We didn't even see her drop off the cake at Cranwell but it was there waiting for us at the reception, and it was a beautiful work of art! We highly recommend Andrea at A.W. Confections without hesitation. Thank you, Andrea!

Andrea is about as sweet as her yummy confections! She was so easy to work with, paying attention to each and every detail on our design, and to put it in one of my guest's words, "Now THAT is what a wedding cake is supposed to look like!" Her selection of cake flavors and fillers is extensive, and she was even willing to accommodate our desire to get a little creative with some new flavors, as well! If you want a gorgeous and even more delicious wedding cake - call her fast b/c her secret is out! She is GOOOOOOD! :-P

Truly gifted baker. Our wedding cake looked amazing!!! And it tasted awsome too! Banana Chocolate is the best flavor!!!

If you want a wedding cake or cupcakes that look great and taste delicious, than A.W. Confections is the obvious choice! They did our wedding cupcakes and they were delicious! We also received a small cake topper from A.W. and it was the most delicious wedding cake I've ever eaten!!

Andrea's cakes are absolutely delicious. She has such a wide variety of flavors, fillings and frosting that you can create any combination you've ever wanted! Unfortunately, communication is difficult at times and the lack of responsiveness can be frustrating. In the end, everything came together perfectly and our cake was beautiful and tasted even better than I remembered.
