The couple's shower they did for us was absolutely amazing. The little details through personalized signage, pictures throughout the house, customized drink menus, adorable koozies, and much more made the party feel like a true celebration of mine and my husband's relationship. My husband and I hired Elizabeth and Velvet Mesquite for our wedding and our experience was pretty disappointing - I wouldn't wish it on anyone - so I'm writing this review in hopes of helping other brides!

Planning: 1 star (unorganized, unprofessional, more stressful than helpful)
Florals: 1.75 stars (beautiful bouquet and cross flowers, but less quantity of florals and greenery than what we'd discussed and paid for)

Context:
We hired VMD for our wedding that was initially planned for March 2020 in Marfa. We booked the 6-month, full-service planning package - per Elizabeth's encouragement that I wouldn't have to worry about anything.

Our actual experience was the opposite - when it was all said and done, my husband and I'd led the majority of the planning (and canceling/rebooking due to COVID), as Elizabeth and team were unresponsive, did not proactively put together timelines, event design, etc., and missed communication with various vendors. The process of cancelling due to COVID was particularly harrowing.

THIEF!!!! Complete waste of time and money! Very unprofessional! Unresponsive! Always cancelled meetings last minute. Was told many times that vendors and venues were not being responsive to them, but when we called directly, we had no problem. We gave all ideas and direction. Unfortunately, due to family tragedy, we had to cancel 6 months prior to the wedding. Their contract clearly states that any funds not spent would be refunded. They have yet to refund a penny after 8 months. Definitely NOT worth their outrageous pricing! All design proposals that were sent to us was taken directly off of our Pinterest board that we shared with them. No actual independent work. When asked for a detail of where our money was spent, we have been completely ignored for 8 months.
