We used Atmosphere Lighting for the pin spotting for our tables and cake and up lighting for the walls around the room. They also provided "party" type lighting for the dance floor. We couldn't be more pleased with how they transformed a basic ballroom into an elegant and classy event.
We booked this vendor pretty early and I met with one of their lighting techs, Bryan Miller, a few months ago at the hotel. He was extremley professional and listened to what we wanted and gave us great suggestions. We emailed a couple of times before the event because I had more tables than originially planned and Bryan was very accomodating.
I happened to run into Bryan and his counterpart Seth the night before the wedding while we were walking to the location of the Rehearsal. They were doing another walk through of the venue and talking about their plan for the lighting. It was comforting to see how serious they were taking our "job" and made me realize that I picked the right vendor :)
I would recommend this company.... specifically Bryan Miller. Top notch!!!!
Diana and her staff are very talented individuals and will transform your ceremony and reception into a beautiful event. Diana was very flexible and accomodating and always open to my ideas. All I had to do was show her some pictures and she made it look 10 times BETTER! My bouquet, the ceremony flowers, the centerpieces, the draping, the flowers for the cake, etc. were more than I could have imagined. I had 3 top vendors and Burke Florist was one of them!!!
You will not be disappointed. Diana and her staff will have my continued business.
Debbie is absolutely AMAZING! She has an incredible talent to not only make the cake beautiful but also taste delicious. We got to see the reception site before everyone entered the Ballroom and I was immediately drawn to the cake table. I couldn't wait to cut it. We had four had four tiers with four different flavors, lemon cake with lemon chiffon, chocolate chip cake with chocolate bavarian crème, pound cake with key lime pie filling (grooms favorite) and orange raspberry swirl cake (no filling). I can't say that I had a favorite because they were ALL so good. The icing was delicious as well. Very light and not too sweet.
I had a piece of each flavor sent up to our room which was one of my best decisions!! I was still eating wedding cake the next day :)
I would definitely recommend Debbie! We are already looking forward to ordering a cake for our anniversary.
This was by far our FAVORITE vendor!! I would give them 10 stars if I could. Excellent, talented, fun.... etc. They encouraged everyone to dance and many times were on the dance floor with us.
We are still getting calls from our guests with nothing but positive comments about Retrospect. People who usually don't dance were on the dance floor. I am looking forward to seeing the video so that we can relive the first dance and everything else that happened that night. We left wishing that we booked them for another couple of hours because time went by too fast. :)
Larry was great to work with and answered any and all questions we had. He gave his professional opinion and was extremely flexible. We also booked one of the members of the band to play the guitar at our cocktail hour. Although I didn't get to hear him, I heard he was very good.
I promise that you will NOT be disappointed with Retrospect. Well worth the money.

This was definitely one of my favorite vendors. The music set the tone for the start of a beautiful ceremony.
Melissa was great and assisted me in selecting the music. She was quick to respond to emails and gave her opinions on what songs would be better for each part of the ceremony. Since Melissa could not perform for our event, she ensured that we had an extremely talented harpist and flutist. Sharon and Diana performed flawlessly and provided lovely music for our event.
I would definitely recommend Melissa and Capitol Harpist for your ceremony.

I can not say anything but good things about Diana. She was the harpist for my ceremony and provided beautiful music. She brought many guests including my mom to tears. She willingly learned a new song for my walk down the aisle and did an incredible job. Although I didn't initially book with Diana, I would highly recommend her to perform at your ceremony/event. She is a very talented individual and a pleasure to work with. You will be extremely pleased!!
I met Lynne at a Bridal Showcase and new that I would be using her for our stationary needs. She was very quick with her email responses and flexible in scheduling the consultations. I initially saw her for the invitations and she had a lot of samples and books to look through. We really had no idea on what type of invitations we wanted but after looking through the books, one invitation stood out. We ordered them with the response cards, direction and accomodation cards. When we received everything, we realized that the liners were not ordered but Lynne was quick to get them to us. My then fiance and I had a "date" night gluing liners and stuffing envelopes :)
Once I began to think about programs, menu cards, table names and escort card, I knew I would definitely use Lynne again. She offered her opinions, showed us some samples and began working on the proofs. When we received the proofs, Lynne willingly changed what we asked. She did a great job with the calligraphy and even accomodated a last minute request to do our table names which were named after DC landmarks.
Lynne is very pleasant to work with and a true professional.
Historical Chocolate Company Fairfax, Virginia 22031
In addition to our other favors, I decided to order the landmark medallions through Historical Chocolates. Instead of having table numbers, we named our tables after DC and Virginia memorials and landmarks so we thought the medallions would be a nice addition which were placed on the napkins of each place setting.
We ordered the dark chocolates which were very good. They were wrapped in a clear cellophane bag with a silver ribbon which matched our colors. We communicated with Barbara who was extremely friendly and accommodating.
We were scheduled to pick up the chocolates on the Tuesday before our wedding but due to an issue with some of the batches of chocolates made, they were not ready. Barbara was very apologetic and ensured that they would be ready before the “big day”.
Barbara ended up delivering the chocolates directly to the hotel herself having them there before our wedding weekend kicked off.
The Wedding Dance Specialists MD: Gaithersburg, Bethesda, Rockville, Beltsville, Columbia, Towson, Baltimore, Windsor Mills, District Of Columbia 20015
Brian would not agree to go to dance lessons if we were doing a traditional slow dance so, I had to agree to "spice" it up a little bit. We contacted Wedding Dance Specialist about 3 months before the wedding and used the Columbia, MD studio. We were assigned to Dinah who was open to anything and a fun teacher. She quickly realized that Brian wasn't the professional dancer he claimed to be when we first met her :)
Brian and I decided to dance to "You're the One That I Want" from Grease and even had the Rydell sweater and the leather jacket. We used a little from the movie but Dinah added quite a bit of fun surprises from me falling back and Brian catching me, the rag doll (which I continued to call the Raggedy Ann) and a cool side dip. She even taught us different spins so that we could bow to the guests on all 4 sides of the dance floor.
Our dance was a hit!! No one knew so we surprised everyone We coordinated with our band for our introductions and immediately started the "party". ALL of our guests were out of their seats laughing and clapping. This will be the most memorable part of our wedding day and we can't thank Dinah enough for being so creative and having an open mind. She is AWESOME!!! The Wedding Dance Specialists responded with the the following comments: We hope you will keep on dancing and romancing!
We had our Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party at Joe Theismann's. We loved the location since it was directly across the street from the hotel where everyone was staying. We opened our party up to our family as well as out of town guests so it wasn't a traditional Rehearsal Dinner. We had about 80 people there!! :)
Sarah (our point of contact) was great. She gave great advice for the passing hor d'ouveres and buffet station and cunsumption bar. We started on the rooftop at the restaurant which offered a pretty view of the Masonic Temple and distant views of DC. After about an hour, we moved downstairs to 2 rooms of their restaurant area. We had such a great time and enjoyed getting to spend time with people that we haven't seen in a while. It actually turned out to be a great idea to open the event up to everyone and we ended up enjoying our reception even more. We even got to eat our entire meal :)
I would definitely recommend Joe Theismann;s. Great location, good food and friendly staff.
Ms. Pat and Ricki were such a pleasure to work with. We had a pig roast the day after our wedding and Mixology provided our bartending needs for the event.
Mixology did EVERYTHING!! All we had to do was tell them how many people were attending and what type of beer, wine, frozen drinks and sodas that we wanted. They purchased what was needed including ice, water, napkins, cups, straws, garnishes etc. We met them once at the park about a month before the event just to show them where we wanted them to set-up. Once we arrived at the park on the day of the event, they were already there setting up!
The staff of Mixology couldn't be more friendly. They joked and had fun with all of our guests and at one point started hand delivering frozen drinks to everyone :) Our guests couldn't have been more pleased with the service.
The best part about booking Mixology is that all of the left over wine, beer, sodas and water we got to take with us. The staff boxed everything up for us and loaded it into the car. We kind of overestimated what people would drink. We didn't take into consideration that everything would be recovering from the night before so needless to say, we have LOTS of beer and wine left.... hmmmm not so much soda and water :)
We contacted Vhic from Event Technology Solutions less than 3 weeks before our wedding because we were not happy with the audio/video guy at the Hilton Hotel. We explained to Vhic our needs for audio during the cerremony and that we were looking to rent TV's for the reception to show a video slideshow that my mom put together.
Vhic exceeded our expectations. He was very informative... even I could understand all of the technical stuff he was saying. If I could give him more than 5 starts for each category, I definitely would. He followed up every day to ensure that I received faxes and emails. Had a little problem at the beginning getting emails from him... work email banned him :)
Vhic arrived at the hotel early to set-up with 2 other co-workers and they made sure to contact my uncle who sang during the ceremony to practice and my mom to get the dvd for the slideshow. They also took care of our surprise recessional song of "Gimme All Your Lovin" playing it exaclty when we wanted them to. For the reception, the tv's were set-up nicely fitting or classy and elegant theme.
I couldn't speak more highly of this company. We barely noticed they were there and they gave the great idea of "looping" our slideshow pictures so that they would show continously for about an hour.
