Start projects early! Seriously. Make a list of all the things you want to make/diy/buy and how much time you think it will take you to achieve each goal (including when things need to be done by). This has helped me with organizing all of the stuff I wanted to make for the wedding.

I was pleased with Black Tie for their bartending service at the wedding. I do have a couple of criticisms though. First, I found them to be a little hard to communicate with via email. I did most of my planning and communication over email. I would ask them a couple of questions and get back vague answers that wouldn't completely answer my questions. I felt like I had to keep bombarding them with questions to get the answers I wanted. The only other thing I had a problem with was that they put out a tip jar at the reception. I specified on the paperwork that I would tip them separately. This could have just been a simple miscommunication, but I do feel bad that some of my guests tipped them during cocktail hour and part of dinner (when I found out). Overall though, I was happy with their service.
The food for our wedding was SO good. We've gotten compliments on the quality of the food. Fat Freddy's was also very easy to work with. My emails were responded to promptly and courteously. We attended a tasting prior to booking them, and the fee for it went towards our total payment. The other thing I really liked is that they didn't charge a cake cutting fee (but I did have to rent cake plates since they weren't included in the china rental). Their prices were very competitive, especially for the quality. I would definitely recommend Fat Freddy's to anyone planning a party.
I loved the flowers for my wedding. Jen was really easy to work with at our meetings. My bouquet looked EXACTLY like the inspiration pic I gave her (with my modifications). The only reason I didn't give her 5 out of 5 was because she was late on the wedding day. We had to start taking our professional pictures (which we took most before the ceremony) without any of our flowers. I believe she's located on the other side of town from our venue, which could have been the reason for her being late. But I was still a little disappointed she wasn't on time. Ever After Florals responded with the the following comments: Thanks so much for the wonderful review. I too LOVED your flowers and knew you would be super happy with them. I can't wait to see some professional photos and put them up on my website. You looked amazing! I acknowledge arriving later than we discussed, however I have NEVER been late to a wedding in my 12 years as a floral designer. Although I was later than you wanted me there, I must state that I did arrive to your venue with plenty of time to put everything in place and get you & your bridal party their flowers. I arrived almost and hour & a half prior to the ceremony. I sincerely appologize if you had to hold up any of your picture taking because of me. I appreciate your feedback.
I actually had a decent experience with Azteca. They don't allow pictures unless you've bought your dress, but I didn't really mind. I chose them because they were only one of two places that carried the dress designer I eventually bought my dress from.
However, my mom had a terrible time when she bought her dress there (she also ordered some extra fabric to make a bolero). First, the dress wasn't in by the date specified, so my mom called and was informed the dress would be shipped less than 2 weeks before the wedding. My mom was assured that there would be enough time for alterations. Second, the fabric was in when she called, but they had started making it into a shawl. They had already cut the fabric. My mom did not ask them to do anything, she only ordered the fabric. When she asked them what they were going to do about it, they basically told her there should be enough material for her to work with. After talking with a manager, it only got worse. The manager accused her of being "melodramatic" about the situation. My mom was really upset over the situation. It ended up ok regarding the product. My mom got her dress and they even ordered her some more fabric at no extra charge (and my mom was able to make her bolero in time, but she got alterations somewhere else). However, I will not be shopping there again. Nor will I be advising any of my friends to shop there. I think their level of professionalism leaves much to be desired. I advised my mom to contact the BBB, but she's just happy to be done with the situation.
Chad did such a great job at the wedding. He did our ceremony and reception music. I got so many compliments on his work. He played all of the songs we asked for, and did a great job keeping people on the dance floor.
Chad also did a great job prior to the wedding. He was always available via email, and willing to meet at a location convenient for us. He also set-up our wedding day schedule (starting with the ceremony), and coordinated with our other vendors. We didn't hire a planner/coordinator, so this service was greatly helpful.
My husband and I are so glad we hired All-American DJ. He really made our wedding awesome.
Alexandra was awesome to work with, and the invitations I ordered were beautiful. I wanted letterpress invitations more than anything, but didn't think I could get them with my budget. I read about The Aerialist Press on a wedding blog and quickly contacted them about designing invitations. Alex was so easy to work with (especially when I wanted to change the design), and she always got back to me within a day or two. The invitations were really nice, and the price was very good for custom invitations. Also, I was really impressed that Alex never tried to upsell me. She never tried to get me to buy more (RSVP cards, etc.).

I loved my make-up at my trial and on the wedding day. I don't usually wear a lot of make-up, so I really wanted to hire someone to professionally apply it. Amber did a great job. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she reproduced it very well. Glamberous Makeup responded with the the following comments: Thank you for the review Ryan! I hope you had a wonderful day and it was great working with you. :)
Janet did a great job on my dress alterations. She was very easy to work with and very professional. I loved my bustle and it held up most of the night (people kept stepping on my dress, so one of the loops ripped out).
