Wedding details
There are two sides to every story and we have decided to give you both versions... Chris's version of the night we met: One night a very long long time ago, I was relaxing at home in my Ninja Turtle PJ's when I got a call from my buddy Alex. It was his nephews birthday party in Downtown Fullerton and he extended an invite. I didn't really feel up to going out, as my PJ's were warm, fresh out of the dryer, but I decided to accompany my good friend. I threw on some jeans, the sexiest clean shirt I could find, and shoes that would make your momma jealous! When we got there it was cool. The party was happenin' but I really didn't know anyone else so I kinda just hung out by myself like a boss. Alex was cutting a rug on the dance floor so I wasn't to bother him. That dude can dance! I was texting some friends to see if they were out in Fullerton also as I was eager to show off my outfit, when I see this gorgeous girl checking me out! Knew those shoes would kill it! So I roll up my sleeves, stand so my butt looks good you know, and do what a boss does......... Continue texting like an idiot. A few minutes later, I feel someone standing next to me. I look up, and there's 2 beautiful women standing there. "Hi I'm Janet, and this is Courtney." "Hey I'm Chris" I say back. Shocked that these girls were chatting me up I had to play it cool. "Just hangin out. Alone. Texting some buddies." No big deal right. Janet then refers to me as "That guy" alone in the corner as I recall. We exchange numbers and hangout and chat for a couple more minutes then go our separate ways. Not sure where she went, but I went to tell Alex that I got the hottest girls number and was super excited. Found Alex..... freakin some girl on the dance floor like a champ. We talked about it later though. Anyway the night came to an end and the rest was history. Moral of the story: no matter how bad your outfit is, you never know when you'll meet the one! Janet's version and a more accurate account of the evening: The date was October 20, 2007. It was a Saturday night. I had just graduated college, was searching for a full-time job, working as a "FLO" at Lucille's BBQ and living with a few girlfriends in an apartment we liked to call the Ondo-Condo (named after one of the roomies). My best friend Courtney and I were asked by Santina to go out to the newest bar in downtown fullerton called the Commonwealth Lounge for another friends birthday. We weren't really in the mood to go, but decided to anyway since it was a birthday celebration. When we got there, we just weren't having much fun and found ourselves entertaining each other. For anyone who knows Courtney and my friendship, we are very good at entertaining each other! While we were goofing around, I happen to notice Chris sitting in a booth by himself, texting. I thought he was cute, but I couldn't get over the shoes he was wearing. I even made the comment to Courtney "That guy is cute, but his shoes have got to go!!" He was wearing construction boots! The 90's fashion was long gone, but hey maybe Chris wanted to bring the look back. After a few laughs about his shoes, I decided to approach him. I came up with a really good ice breaker "Hey, your totally being "that guy" in the corner texting by yourself." I know, it wasn't very creative but it got his attention! We chatted a little, exchanged numbers and then went our seperate ways. "TIMING IS EVERYTHING" Our relationship taught both of us that the quote "timing is everything" really is true!! Chris and I casually dated for a few months after we met and then decided to part ways on Valentines Day 2008. I remember even saying to Courtney that I probably would never date Chris again.... oh boy was I wrong! In February of 2009, Chris called me up and asked if we could talk. He said he just needed a new ear to listen to him, so I agreed to meet him. From that night on, Febrary 25, 2009 to be exact, we have been inseperable. When I was growing up, I always wondered about what my husband would be like but I had no idea that he would be this great! Chris knows me better than anyone else in my life. He is patient, kind, understanding, affectionate, funny and most of all he loves me exactly how I am. I couldn't be more lucky to be spending the rest of my life with him!
