We had an AMAZING experience working with Fantasea Yacht Club!

Right after getting engaged, I had to go on a 2-week business trip. While I was gone, my fiancee took it upon himself to visit a few of the venues we had read about and researched. He visited Fantasea and told me he just had a good feeling about it.

When I returned home, we made a bunch of appointments one Saturday, determined to work our way through the list of places he visited and/or researched. Our first appointment was Fantasea. After meeting with Stephanie Ginzburg, having a tour of the place, and listening to her tell us about our options...well, we fell in love (with the yacht club AND with Stephanie). When we left, my fiancee and I looked at each other and wondered, "Why are we even going to look at those other places?" So, we cancelled all our other appointments -- it was the best decision we made!

There were many options at Fantasea -- we chose to have our ceremony and cocktail party on the Regentsea yacht and our dinner/dancing reception in the yacht club.

Stephanie and the entire staff at Fantasea were amazing. They worked with our budget, let us customize our event down to the smallest detail, allowed us to bring in an ice cream cake without charging extra cake-cutting fees, threw in some special touches (a signature cocktail, an ice sculpture, etc.), and let us come in the day before the wedding to practice our choreographed first dance. Stephanie was always available and treated us like we were her only client (and I'm certain we weren't, so that is a testament to how special she makes each couple feel).

Several things went wrong on the day of our wedding -- the rain started the moment we began taking photos outside, the band refused to play our "must-play" songs, and the best man sucked up 20-minutes of the reception with the longest speech ever. But everything that went right was due to the professional staff at Fantasea under the guidance of our very talented wedding planner, Stephanie Ginzburg.

We HIGHLY recommend Fantasea Yacht Club if you want to have a unique wedding AND get the best value for your money.

We met with de Bois Entertainment and were impressed by the bands they represented and by their professionalism. Based on a video they showed us of a few wedding bands, we chose the Ricky V Band. We liked that the lead singer - Ricky V - could sing the rock songs and the female singer had a good range for any songs sung by women. We even spent an additional $750 for a young, male African-American singer who could handle the motown songs.

On the day of the wedding, the band insisted upon being placed on the edge of the dance floor -- greatly limiting our dance area - even though we had wanted them to be stationed on a landing above the floor. De Bois said they would come by the venue BEFORE the wedding day to see if the band could play on the landing, but we really don't know if they ever did that. If they did, we never heard about it and were therefore surprised when we entered the room for the first time to do our choreographed salsa dance - with half the floor taken up by the band, we had to wing it during our first dance.

In addition to this, most of the band members were unrecognizeable to us. With the exception of Ricky V himself, NONE of the other musicians seemed to be the ones in the video we saw, specifically not the female singer or the African-American singer. This was so obvious to us that, for the first hour, we were convinced that this was not the band we hired. (These musicians were talented enough, but they were not what we expected. The de Bois contract states that a musician might be replaced if someone has a scheduling conflict or something, but in this case, almost the ENTIRE band was replaced without anyone saying a word to us!).

But the worst thing was this:
We were told by de Bois that, for a 4-hour reception, the band would play about 40-50 songs. We were given their playlist -- basically, a long list of songs that the band already knew how to perform. We were told that we could choose 10-15 must-play songs from the list. We could also designate the DO NOT play songs. We chose only 8 songs that were must-play tunes. The Ricky V Band played NONE - not one - of the songs on our must-play list. Also, we indicated 90 other songs from which to choose and told them that all other songs should be considered DO NOT PLAY. They completely ignored our request and basically played what they wanted to, without regard to what we asked them to play.

The following Monday, just before leaving for our honeymoon, we called de Bois to tell them of our less-than-satisfactory experience. They were "sorry" but offered nothing more than that. We weren't trying to get our money back, but, in the name of professional courtesy we did expect something more than, "gee, that's too bad about your wedding day -- I guess there is nothing we can do about it now."

I would advise any bride and groom to consider another entertainment company lest you get the "bait-and-switch" that we experienced.

Rebecca was fantastic! She did my make-up and the make-up of my bridesmaids. Everyone looked beautiful -- just like models! And each girl's make-up was different and suited her skin tone and personal style.

Rebecca also arranged for a hair stylist when my normal hairdresser had to cancel. What a life-saver!

I am having some professional photos taken in a few months and I have already asked Rebecca to do my make-up for the shoot. I highly recommend her services to any one who is getting married or having photos taken.
