Hello all! my fiancee raised the question of "should he and the grooms pariy wear suits or go with traditional tuxes"? He is wondering this because a suit can be worn again, but my dress can't...how should we go about this? We are just in the planning process and throwing ideas around for hopefully...

We are just in the planning process and throwing ideas around for hopefully a fall wedding in 2012.

I think suits look amazing! I like them better. The guys look more comfortable in suits. But I'm letting FH make that decision. He had no say in my dress so I'm not going to control what him and his guys wear.

I was asking the same question (tux or suit?), but then I realized that, personally, I can't tell the difference. I think the men look great either way and that most naive people like me really don't know the difference.
From a quick internet search, the difference lies in that a tux has a satin lapel and satin stripe down the leg and the shirt has cufflink holes.
Does anyone really notice these types of things? We are having a super formal wedding, but want the guys to go with gray colored pants and jacket.
Educate me! Do tuxes come in gray? I seriously think tuxes and suits look the same. Some suits are cut in a more formal way or you can add a vest to make more formal. And, some tuxes may be more informal depending on the accessories chosen (straight tie instead of a bowtie). So, does it really matter?

My DH is wearing a suit. We were going to rent him a tux but then we realized it would cheaper to buy a suit that he can actually keep and wear again if needed then to rent a tux and return it.

And then he remembered he already has the suit jacket, so we just have to buy him the pants, shirt, tie and shoes =)
