So for mothers day yesterday, my Grandmother gave me something very important. My Grandfather passed away a little over 5 years ago, I have been asking for something I can have that was his. So for mothers day yesterday, my Grandmother gave me something very important. My Grandfather passed away a little over 5 years ago, I have been asking for something I can have that was his. It didn't matter what it was, I just wanted something. So my grandmother gave me a pearl necklace and earings that my grandpa bought when he was stationed in Okinawa. They are over 50 years old. I plan on wearing them on the day of the wedding, but I heard from somebody that you are not supposed to wear pearls on your wedding day. Is that ture? do you think I should still wear them?

I have heard that if your engagement ring is a pearl that it is bad luck, but not accessories at the Wedding. I'm wearing pearls on my wedding day.

I've always heard that you are supposed to wear something old something new something borrowed something blue...my something old is my great grandma's pearls who I was very close to...she let me have them while she was on her sick bed and told me to keep them safe..so what safer place then on my neck(look at default pic-those are hers)on my wedding day ?!WEAR THEM HONEY..AND WEAR THEM PROUD!

Never heard of that either, just the opposite. Pearls are very traditional for weddings and is why so many brides wear them.

I'm sure the sentimentality of wearing the pearls your grandfather bought will over power any bad luck they might have brought you. Smiley smile I will be wearing chocolate pearls on my wedding day.
