My fiance and I have booked our wedding aboard the Carnival Inspiration ship and are curious to know if anyone else can tell us about their experience with Carnival weddings. So far everything has been GREAT.

Ms. R::: There is a down side to booking through the company when booking a group. I've never experienced it since this will be my first group booking, but I have heard more negative stories than positive. One of the things I liked was that the TA can handle all the foot work negotiate if problems arise. I don't have to deal with that when planning a wedding, that can be stressful enough. The plus side is that I've heard that a TA can also get some perks. Either way, there is good and bad in EVERYTHING in life, so you just make a choice and hope for the best.

@ dai69, it is lways better to go direct than a TA....they can only do so much and you have to realize that their not offering anything diffrent thatn what the company offers!! they "dress" up the prices differently to get the attention, but they have to call in directly to the company in order to book!!! They key to great rates are booking them early, not at the last minute, no matter waht cruise line you cruise with. TA's work a 9-5 which means when their closed their guests want help and then there stuck until they are open.............

HEY everyone! Im soooo excited! I got engaged last month on our carnival cruise and we decided since we love crusin so much---why not get married on one!!! We have been on 3 together...and I have to say that is the best vacation ever!!! Carnival is so amazingSmiley smile I would love to chat with other brides to be that are planning on getting married on a cruise or that have gotten married on a cruise!!! Since we have less than a year to plan it we are trying to figure out what is best...a small one or a big one. We are paying for it all by ourselves so was wondering if it would be worth inviting everyone we know or just our family memebers that are the closest to us?!?! Anyone have any ideas or comments they can share?

We are planning our cruise wedding on carnival Smiley smile So far it is GREAT!! We also got engaged on a Carnival cruise. So fun! And we love to just relax and have fun with family and friends so this was the perfect plan. PLUS.. it's a 5 day reception!! We starting off with 50 people and are now up to 120!! But everyone is paying for their own cruise. How can you beat that?? Good luck with your planning Smiley smile

I booked my wedding on the carnival paradise and I'm super excited! Only problem is it seems so far away!!! I can't wait to hear how other cruise weddings go! Only downside I ran into so far is that u can't bring real flowers on board so I'm having silk ones made. Also the alter flowers come in a standard white...I'm gonna try to upgrade though. I have 30 sailing guests so far and I'm hoping for 50. This option was way cheaper than a traditional wedding.

We are planning a Carnival Cruise Wedding aboard The Carnival Conquest. This will be our 8th cruise . My Fiance proposed on a cruise . So far we have 40 guest who have already booked their cruise . The downside of having our wedding on a cruise ship is my Mother is not planning on attending because she's affaid . I am an only child and that affecting me on my whole planning routine . I'm trying to be strong about it . We keep going back and forth on Shipboard or Offshore at our Port in Montego Bay . We have found out that offshore is really pricey $85.00 pp. Wow . Has anyone had N offshore on the beach ? Give me thoughts please . We are having a guest list of 200 people for a reception when we return from our 7 day event . Sept . 19 , 2012 is our date.

How did the wedding go? We are getting married Feb 11 2018 on the breeze. How does the planning go? Do you get to see the room? Do you meet with someone to discuss the process? Tia

We got married 01/01/2017 on Carnival Conquest. It was great other then get to and from which was do to guests. I told my guests multiple time they have to be dressed for wedding when arriving to Port. I have 5 guest getting dress in the Port terminal restrooms and doing hair and makeup. We meet the wedding coordinator in the Terminal at 10 am. She when over everything with me, now husband, best man, maid of honor, and my dad. She told us if she forget she will help and she did but no one noticed. Me and my maid of honor put your dresses on in the cabin while guest were at the lido buffet. We board about 11:30 am and wedding was at 1 pm. Reception was at 1:30-3 pm. I requested video & photographer which is one person. We plan on going with a small picture package but we ended up with the most expense package $3,000 because the story book was so great, the video was wonderful, we got almost 300 digital pictures with copy right, a canvas, slideshow, 60 printed pictures. We did a group shot and gave each family a 8 X 10 copy, they made us thank cards, 3 USBs, 3 DVDs. I wish I would have know I was going with the largest packages because I would have looked at the camera more and made some shot more posed example me and my dad dancing. My dad is not looking at the camera. Also if I would have told the photographer I rather have posed shot she would have done it. The wedding/reception exceeded our exceptions. The cake was wonderful and they served the leave over at dinner. Our cake was vanilla and cream cheese which was like cheesecake and Coconut & coconut. After wedding we did our inside/outside picture We had 22 people sailing and choose 6pm dining. We continue wedding at 6pm dining. It was fantastic!

Note: my niece was look yesterday at Carnival wedding package and they raised their price and changed option completely. They start at over $2,500 then charge for each person. Now they are closer in price to other cruise lines.

We just had our Wedding on Carnival Cruise Inspiration October 20th 2017.

My husband was very traditional and did not want to see me until I walked down the aisle and my wedding coordinators did a great job at making sure I got to my room and was not seen by the groom until I walked down the aisle.

The minister was a sweet heart and had a great sense of humor. The guest loved him.

    The photographer:

From the start my guest found him quite pushy. My interactions with him were fine at first, because I ignored his pushy attitude, but when I was headed to the reception the groom told me about his interactions with the photographer. He told me the photographer was trying to force him to take pictures and that he tried to repeatedly show pictures of me In my wedding dress before the wedding. As I said before the groom was very traditional so he was highly upset with someone trying to ruin that moment for him. So needless to say the groom told the photographer to go away.

Additionally, my guest told me the carnival wedding photographer was rude and pushy. He told my family that the grooms family are not good people. He was very disrespectful to the groom.

    The wedding cake:

The cake was good, but they cut into my top tier so I couldn’t take it home. I decided to just buy a separate tier to freeze. I did send specific decorations for the cake but it looked nothing like what I asked for, but i let it go even though it wasn’t right.

    Ceremony :

Even though I had two wedding coordinators my family setup all the homemade decorations and it looked great.

An announcement was made during my vows on the ship that went on way to long and ruined that moment for me and that's something I can't get back. I tried talking to customer service about what happpened and I told them the only thing that would make me happy since I can't get that moment back is to at least get the sample wedding photobook comp. The ship customer service offered us $200, glasses, and a empty scrapbook, which is nice but when yo spend $1000’s and get over 45 people to sail with you, you expect things like that not to happen. I have contacted multiple departments of Carnival trying to get them to respond about what happened, but so far I am still waiting to see if I can get those positive memories since my videos were also ruined by that announcement.

It has been really great reading the comments on this thread. My fiancé and I had booked our venue in Puerto Vallarta for next May, but everything fell apart. It has been an awful experience and now we have to start all over again. My future father in law suggested a cruise wedding so here I am! All we wanted was a family vacation with a wedding in the middle. Any brides have their wedding on a Carnival cruise recently?

I had my wedding on Carnival cruise ship and I loved it! My wedding was on Carnival glory. It was a very nice ceremony and reception. Family who cruised was not a problem. We enjoyed our honeymoon and booked our own cruise excursions and did not see family, but did hang out with them at dinner and shows which made it very fun. We enjoyed our alone time as well with beautiful views from our balcony suite and ordered room service when we didn’t want to run around the ship, the wedding and honeymoon were very romantic. The best part about it is the wedding planning was stress free with the wedding packages as well as affordable.
