Family Crest
Whose Family Crest are you suppose to use on your invitations? The bride's family is paying for the entire wedding.

From my understanding, whoever is contributing to your wedding, that's the names you use on the invitation.

In our case, we are paying for everything ourselves so we only have our names as the invitors, is that a word, lol?

That's what I thought! My daughter's fiance's family seems to think that they can put their family crest on the invitations even though we are paying 100% for the wedding. I thought this should be done on their thank you cards if they chose to do this once they are married.

You're names definitely should be on them, is his family paying for anything, rehearsal dinner, honeymoon, anything? Ifnot, then NO, their names should not be on them.

Thank you. I thought that was right, but was accused of being old fashioned and not knowing what I was talking about.

As for a family crest (versus the names) I would still probably go with your FH's crest. Just as a monogram would have the guy's last initial in the center, the crest would be your 'new' family crest.

If they're not paying for anything, I don't think they should demand anything..as for the crest, only if the couple wants it and I would put both family crests on it, as it is a union of two families, or skip the crest on the invite all together and have it some where else like the Thank you cards or even the cake.
