BM convertible/infinity dresses

Cristina, on March 5, 2015 at 2:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I have a total of 4 bridesmaids and 2 groomswomen in my wedding party. They all know they are paying for their own dresses but I thought to get the most out of their money, to have them purchase full length convertible/infinity dresses. Since they vary in size and height they can reuse the dress for future events and not be limited to one style. Anyone know of affordable places that sell these types of dresses? Since they are paying for their own dressess, suggestions under $100 would greatly be appreciated Smiley smile

The infinitely dresses tend to be on the pricier side, so it may be difficult to find them for less than $100. I know David's Bridal has an infinity dress now, not sure of the price. Also Dessy has one on weddington way that I'm pretty sure is closer to your price range. Also BHLDN carries the Jenny Yoo ones and they sometimes go on sale.

Etsy! I bought a short one from Atom Attire (or something similar, she's based in NY) just because for $30. I think she makes longer ones for $45 or $50. They're a one-size-fits-most but I think she can do custom sizes as well.

I've gotten the Von Vonni ones on Amazon for around 100, and they have sales somewhat regularly if you sign up for their emails.

I think the infinity dress is a great idea! I felt the same way with my BP. I found one on modcloth that everyone loved! One of my BM's had a coupon so it was under $100 http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/when-the-night-comes-dress-in-plum

@futuremrslav - that's exactly where I had my girls order their long convertible dresses from! OP - Love them, the quality and they fit great. We have all types of sizes and heights. The long ones are $45 + $5 for shipping. So $50 for gorgeous dresses! My BMs loved me for that lol! Here is the link to her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AtomAttire?ref=l2-shop-info-name - we did long black ones.

Just a word of warning -- I've worn this type of dress and they really aren't flattering on a lot of body types. They show every imperfection, panty line, roll, etc. I've heard this from lots of other people, too.

    @ winniperwriter, that's my fear.

I was looking into this for my maids and two of them are very full chested. Some of the reviews on infinity dresses say there's not enough fabric to properly cover this area. Anyone out there with full chested maids have any insight?

I had my BM's get infinity dresses also off etsy. They came with a bandu to help my fuller chested girls @allysia02

I only had 1 girl, I bought her a lace convertible dress, which we found super flattering. That being said, she's tall and thin. With shipping it came to about $75, and didn't need any alterations. Here's the stock photo.

I am 5'4" size 8/10, athletic, and 36DD and I had an infinity dress that made me look 20 lb heavier. Every way I tried tying the top looked awkward and ill-fitting. I am sure some are better than others, but I would be nervous about buying online without reading comprehensive reviews or feeling a sample of the fabric.

I have curvy and busty girls especially my MOH and she tried on this dress previously and loved it! I would recommend the matching bandeau that you can get with it!

I've always been curious about infinity dresses, but they always seem like they would look better on girls that are a size 0-2 which I am most certainly not.
