Joni and her team are the best!

Joni was my wedding planner for my 4/21/23 wedding and I only have good things to report. She is hands down one of the best. You can tell she cares about her brides and wants them happy. Joni is well-connected in the area and her reputation precedes her. She is kind, patient, and knows the business (venues, vendors, etc) inside and out. I was blown away by how beautiful my wedding turned out. She's got a fantastic team of planners and vendors and is super professional. Leading up to the day, she was always responsive and kind. Her assistant, Sonia, was extremely organized and prepared on our calls. Answered my many questions and followed-up with vendors as needed. She was fantastic on my actual wedding day- she ensured everything was taken care of, and her assistant for the day, Laura, was also wonderful (and very kind/patient). If there were any issues, I did not know about them or they were already handled. For your wedding (especially a semi-destination like mine), you want to have someone you trust who has the experience and professionalism, and Joni is your person. I still receive compliments to this day about how amazing the wedding was and how beautiful it was. Words cannot express my gratitude. Thank you to Joni and her team! Highly recommend.

I have nothing but glowing things to say about Your Special Day By Joni! We worked with Joni and Sonia for the six weeks before my wedding. They are so detail-oriented, incredibly responsive, and made sure that all of the vendors were on the same page about the timing and coordination of the wedding. Amazing and easy planning process from start to finish !

My wedding turned out absolutely perfect thanks to Joni,Sonia and Laura ! I can’t stress enough how much anxiety I had before deciding to hire them as my wedding planners / coordinators. Sonia constantly went above and beyond to answer all my questions and get my wedding together . My guests raved about the wedding being the best they have ever been to and extremely well thought out , this could not have been possible without Joni and her team ! All the vendors they recommended were reliable, through and extremely pleasant to work with ! I can’t thank them enough for making my day absolutely perfect ! No Wedding without them!

Over the 11 months after we booked our venue, we went through four different venue reps. Technically, our venue had not hired a rep at the time of our wedding, but you would not have even known because Joni's team was on top of every moment. Sonia was the lead for our month-of planning and day of, and I genuinely think the entire day would have fallen apart without her. She was on top of everything, and her organization and documentation were BEYOND impressive. The entire team was so professional and skilled!

Joni treats you like family and knows her stuff!

Joni and her team are our guardian angels - simply second to none! Our wedding at Vizcaya in Miami was magical and went exactly according to plan. We were extremely demanding and detail oriented (e.g., my husband wanted all the salads to be on the tables in less 25 seconds and she got it done!). You know your team is the best when you get to enjoy the day and worry about NOTHING leading up to it.

Here's the difference when it comes to working with Joni:

1) Joni's years of experience and close relationships with vendors ensure that you get the best value and service. She has her trusted go-to people that never let her down because her word carries weight. When she works with anyone new, she is sure to vet them thoroughly. She attended our tasting with us to make sure the food was to our liking. She knew the items (e.g. table clothes and chairs) that were best to order from the caterer vs. event stylist. And when a vendor wasn't responsive, Joni took care of business.

2) Joni has seen it all and has a solve for anything that could potentially go wrong. The circuit blower in the hotel room went down a few times with so many hair blowers and curling irons going. Sonya and Laura knew who to call and made sure it was fixed in seconds. You can't do this without years of experience and familiarity with hotels, venues and vendors...relationships are everything!

3) She knows South Florida venues like the back of her hand. She cautioned us to get heel covers for women at Vizcaya so they wouldn't sink into the ground or wobble when they walked. She knew we needed a bathroom attendant and exactly what we could and could not do at this historic property.

4) She's courageous enough to tell you what you don't want to hear if it means perfection on your special day. For instance, we did NOT want a tent and if it rained, we would have been in trouble! Also, we were going to spend money in areas that wouldn't have contributed to the wow factor. She led us in the right direction.

5) Organization is key! Joni's team is buttoned up with their run of show and seating chart. They provides copies to all vendors and keep the wheels moving. I think she could have her own reality show!

We absolutely loved working with Joni. Despite her professionalism, we really felt that she cared about us as people and went the extra mile to ensure we were cared for.

My Dream Wedding with Joni

If you are looking for a wedding planner, your search ends here. There are no words to describe the AMAZINGNESS that is Joni and her team. We were a COVID couple that had to cancel our wedding abroad and rebook a Miami destination wedding in three months and it was all a success because of Joni. From helping me select my venue, craft my vision, and choose our vendors - Joni and her team were there every step of the way. Her long standing relationships with many venues and vendors makes all the difference because she has a wealth of advice to provide. She always makes herself available to take any questions, help you think through ideas, and give you insight on what the best path forward is. Could NOT have done my at-home wedding without her!

Joni did a fantastic job helping plan our at home wedding when we realized we were in completely over our heads. I didn't think I'd need a planner at first and then a month went by and I hadn't made a single decision because I felt overwhelmed. This was WELL worth the price, at at a much better rate than most others I looked at. Joni coordinated communications and meetings with the many different vendors we were dealing with, reviewed contracts, gave constant advice and suggestions, provided tons of vendor recommendations, kept the entire process on track, and was available at any time to talk me off a ledge! Her and Brigette were both amazing the day of the wedding as well and made everything happen so smoothly so I never had to lift a finger on my wedding day! I was really nervous once I realized how much more difficult it was to plan a wedding at home with 100 people (especially when I live in Chicago and the wedding was in Florida) but Joni and her team absolutely crushed it and relieved a TON of stress. I even texted her for opinions on some things instead of my friends and family and she was constantly available and happy to help (even when I was definitely being crazy). We absolutely could not have done it without her and our day turned out beautiful because of them!!

Thankful for Joni in navigating our COVID wedding

I am so thankful to have found Joni to help us have the wedding of our dreams. I'll never forget my first call with her almost two years ago - I explained the not-so-great experience I had speaking with another wedding planner, and I could immediately tell that Joni was truly listening to me. Her calm demeanor and consultative approach made me feel comforted and assured that I would be in good hands by working with her.

As an out-of-state bride, I had no idea what to expect especially when trying to select vendors. Joni always gave several amazing options for us to choose from and I always appreciated her honesty. As if planning a wedding wasn't hard enough, COVID of course made it even harder - with all the challenges we faced (1st reschedule, then the original venue telling us they were canceling all weddings in 2021 due to renovations, which left us with the 3rd date), I always felt like Joni was in our corner and ALWAYS there to support us getting through these emotional times we faced.

Joni was with us literally every step of the way of planning this wedding, and she really has become like family to us and our families. Our wedding weekend turned out to be everything we had envisioned and hoped for - it was FLAWLESS, FUN, and BEAUTIFUL!!! Her team is extremely professional and on top of it, and I am so happy that we were finally able to have our celebration.

It is sad to think that my time, after almost two years of planning with Joni, has now come to an end. Joni made the wedding planning experience FUN, and I truly couldn't imagine going through that process without her.

Joni - from my family and Derek's, we are so appreciative of everything you have done for us. You made us feel so special, and I know we'll stay in touch and get some drinks next time we're in FL.

Every step of the process was meticulously planned and thought out to meet the client’s desires and an agreed upon budget. She assisted in every faucet of the planned event. What was even more impressive was her can do attitude and preparation to ensure that special day proceeded without incident. On the day of the event was even more impressive. Absolutely amazing!

Joni is an absolute rockstar! Joni was helping us plan our 150 person June wedding and then helped us downsize to an intimate wedding of 13 in my parent’s backyard due to COVID-19. Throughout the whole process, Joni was always upbeat and positive and had such a calming presence. She was always so quick to answer texts, emails, and calls. The vendors Joni recommended were top notch and did such a wonderful job. On our wedding day, Joni was there the entire day to make sure everything went smoothly so we didn’t have to worry about anything and could just enjoy the day. Joni and her staff exceeded our expectations.

We cannot say enough about what Joni and her staff did for our daughters wedding at the Vizcaya Museum. There is no doubt that her efforts were way beyond what we could hope for. We realized after trying to manage the process ourselves that being a destination wedding and with our daughter in school outside the U.S., we desperately needed help. We found Joni and she was a godsend. She has the unique ability to make you feel that everything is under control, and indeed it was. She also has so many contacts and excellent relationships with the all of the vendors that were involved with the wedding and they all love working with her. Joni and her staff, especially Brigette, really made the event run so smoothly and when it was all over, we felt like they had become part of our family. We could not imagine that there is a better wedding planner and staff in the South Florida area.

Wonderful wedding planner

Joni was absolutely wonderful with planning our wedding! We went back and forth about whether or not we wanted to use a wedding planner, but I am so relieved and happy we made the right choice. Wonder woman and fairy godmother

I was surprised when the hotel we chose for our children's wedding required a wedding planner as we had managed that ourselves for all our previous celebrations. A family friend recommended Joni as THE BEST. Our experience indicated that description was an understatement!
From or first telephone contact to our most recent post wedding discussion, Joni's warmth, sincerity, and expertise was extraordinary. Joni has impressive organizational skills, a wealth of knowledge gained over years of experience, outstanding communication skills, and a commitment to fulfilling your dream for your wedding. Throughout the many months of planning she responded promptly to every phone call and email with sage advice and enthusiasm.
Joni provided a detailed monthly guideline to help us organize the myriad tasks in preparation for the special day. Her focus on every aspect of the wedding was remarkable and reassuring from providing recommendations for florists and photographers to musicians and makeup artists. Joni's contacts and her consideration of balancing budget was super helpful.
The talented team who supervised the day and night of the event were conscientious, calm, cooperative, coordinators who professionally and unobtrusively made sure that every moment of the wedding was perfect. Even the weather was ideal and I believe that Joni probably had connections to arrange that as well!

If you want a pro, look no further than Joni!

Joni is the BEST! We are still getting compliments from our February 2019 wedding. As a bride whose profession is a corporate and incentive event planner, I was looking for a very specific type of planner and special person to be my wedding planner. After receiving a few recommendations of planners in the Boca/Delray area and chatting with a few, I knew Joni was the right person for me from the moment we met her. Our monthly check-in calls kept me on track and the planning process always moving forward. The communication, follow-up, attention to detail and consultative advice was exactly what I was looking for. Although I feared I would micromanage our wedding, I confidently turned everything over to Joni and her team and never looked at my timeline once! Joni and her team even came to the rescue when the bottom of my dress got dirty right before the ceremony by scrubbing it with club soda and drying with a hair dryer while keeping me calm as possible-- they saved the day! We decided to have an “at home, outside Florida wedding.” When having an at home wedding and bringing all the suppliers into a backyard the logistics can be over whelming and very involved. The wedding and reception was beyond what we had ever dreamed of and all within budget.

Joni not only listened to what the parents wanted, but she listened to the bride and groom as well. I found that to be a perfect touch, as nothing was done without the OK of everyone involved.

I have worked with other wedding planners before and found them at times to be difficult or even stubborn. Joni is not like that at all. She truly cares and wants to make “your day” the best it can be all within your wants and needs. This is a unique gift she brings to her planning and day of the event coordination.

We were referred to Joni Scalzo by two dear friends who had previously used her for a total of three of their daughter’s weddings. We could not be happier with our decision to hire Joni. My wedding was literally perfect

Words cannot describe how lucky I feel that Joni was my wedding planner. Working with her was the best decision I could have made. I will truly miss talking to her on the phone - aside from being an incredible wedding planner, she is insanely sweet and kind. She loves animals and has the most positive energy. She picked amazing vendors, had great communication, and pulled everything together for the best day of my life! We had last minute vendor changes, last minute number changes, and last minute venue changes, but somehow, everything went perfectly, and of course that’s because of Joni. This was a destination wedding and there was a ton going on in our lives this year. Joni really took over and made everything happen. She is truly a professional. We are ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. We HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Joni, especially for destination weddings. Great wedding planner

My husband and I got married at Boca Raton resort and Club in March of 2019. Joni and her team were absolutely amazing. Everybody knows Joni and her incredible work. Joni is the absolute best!! I used Joni as my planner for my wedding in November, and she helped make it the most perfect wedding. She was extremely helpful in the event design. She helped us find the amazing florist we used (Jon at Xquisite Events) and worked closely with us to design the entire event. She had amazing suggestions that we wouldn’t have thought of on our own. She was also helpful in coordinating all the logistics leading up to that day - we didn’t have to worry about a thing! The day of the event everything went to smoothly because of Joni and her team. We would highly recommend Joni for a wedding planner !!! Joni helped us plan our daughter's wedding in Miami. We were all so happy with everything at the wedding and Joni was a large reason for our happiness. Joni helped us with planning the decor and her suggestions and advice were perfect. She understood our daughter's vision, and her suggestions for decor were elegant yet contemporary. Joni's advice on menu choices, giveaways, vendors, and other big and small details of the night were all so helpful! And importantly, her warm personality was perfect for keeping the energy of the wedding planning and the wedding itself fun and positive. AWESOME! I never imagined something could be so wonderful.

Wow. I love Joni. She helped us put on the best wedding that ever existed. I know I’m biased, but my guests said the same thing. She recommended the best band, photographer, bus company, invitation company, makeup artist, etc. She made the whole process seamless and stress free. No detail was left untouched, and we barely had to lift a finger. I truly don’t know how she does it. She delivered the best wedding a couple could ask for. Additionally, she had two women, Susan and Brigette, with us all day. They helped make the day so fun and smooth and stress free. It beyond exceeded our expectations in every way. It was beyond beautiful with nonstop dancing. I wish I could relive the night every weekend. It was a dream come true, I had to pinch myself to make sure it wasn’t a dream. Almost 2 yrs after my wedding and people still rave about how it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. It could of not been possible without Joni! I can not say enough great things about my Joni!!! I had a list of top notch wedding planners that I wanted for my wedding and Joni was the last one on my list to call and I was terrified to do so after being rejected by everyone due to my wedding budget and 5 months to plan. I called Joni and she listened to me and my ideas and was happy to help. She was booked the day I picked to have my wedding at the venue I fell in love with that she recommended. That venue was completely booked. So I agreed to change the date so that I can have both Joni and the venue. Joni made the impossible possible for me just so that I can have my fairytale at that venue. There were other errors on my behalf and she saved me from all of them! Joni at Your Special Day by Joni was recommended to us by Bill Summerlin at Boca by Design shortly after we got engaged. From the get-go, Joni was our fairy godmother. Our engagement period was five months and we decided to plan a wedding in Boca, from NYC. Joni hit the ground running. We only visited Boca three times before our wedding week — Joni was on top of everything! Joni recommended all our vendors and because we trusted her completely, we went with her top vendor choices, all of which were phenomenal! She led us through the wedding planning process with confidence, humor, and above all, her expertise. Words can’t capture my experience with Joni, and I just don’t feel that I can truly express the amount of gratitude I have as the bride for this AMAZING woman and her team. Joni is the HOLY GRAIL of wedding planning. I came to her 4 months before my wedding, after firing my initial planner, by finding her through her reviews on the Knot and Wedding Wire. Her reviews seemed too good to be true but now I see exactly what those other brides were feeling. She has the most positive, light-hearted, no pressure attitude that makes you feel completely comfortable. As a type A personality, I appreciated that she was always available to me, even for the small things and even when she was busy at other weddings. I don’t know how she manages it, but she is always there for her brides.

My favourite part about Joni, besides her infinite amount of wisdom and experience, is her sense of tranquillity, cool and calm, that radiates into every aspect of the wedding planning. If you have a dream, she will find a way to make it happen. If you have a problem, she has a solution, but the best part if she doesn’t ACT like it is a problem at all.Everything is so easy going with Joni. She perfectly balances putting a Type A personality like myself at ease without making me feel like things aren’t under control. Joni was the ONLY person I felt like I could relinquish control to. When you work with the right people, you can’t word it. You just feel it. Joni and her team (Jamie was my amazing, on-the-ball day of coordinator) were exactly what I needed and dreamt of in my wedding planner. I can’t thank them enough. You can have all the perfect pieces of a wedding but if you don’t have the right person to put them together, it just isn’t the same. I am so grateful!! As mother of the bride, I don’t know what I would have done without the services of Your Special Day by Joni. I hired Joni and her team for “the day of” the wedding but they did so much more. Joni took the stress of coordinating the vendors off my shoulders and scheduled the wedding day with the venue banquet planner as well as the photographer. Joni was always available and returned calls and e-mails promptly. She reassured me and comforted me when issues with the Venue arose. On the day of the wedding her team orchestrated the day with perfection, demonstrating professionalism
and confidence. Theteam was so pleasant to work with. Looking back I should have hired Your Special Day byJoni from the beginning. Joni and Laura did an excellent job for my wedding. They have the best and most positive attitude. Joni was out of town for a family obligation so Laura was my day of coordinator. She was stellar. The day would not have run so smoothly without her. I appreciate her temperament and attention to detail so much. She was even available for my rehearsal dinner, which was the same size as the wedding as 95% of my guests were from out of town or immediate family. I highly recommend working with them. Joni and I clicked from the very beginning. I wanted a veteran planner with decades of experience and that’s what Joni is. Before I hired her as my month of planner, she was giving me free advice with no pressure to commit. Everything she said was sensible, which I liked. Yes, she can help design and offer guidance, but I really wanted someone who I could trust to make decisions for me the day of my wedding if any issues came up (which they do and will). She has seen everything that could go wrong, so I trust her judgment. Importantly, she also knows everyone in the industry. When I asked my vendors before I hired Joni if they like working with her the unanimous answer was EVERYONE DOES! It’s was reassuring to know that Joni can be effective with the team of vendors putting together our wedding. And I cannot forget to give kudos to her assistant Laura. Laura is reliable just like Joni. The last thing I will mention, is that she is fairly priced. Her fee was well-earned.

Joni was one of the first vendors I booked. My husband and I are both busy professionals so we knew we would need help with our elegant wedding if we wanted to pull it off. Joni was with us through the whole process and really helped us make our vision a reality, she was also always very responsive to emails and phone which made me feel at ease during the whole wedding planning process. We had frequent phone calls and booked vendors and planned one step at a time, which made the process less overwhelming. She has a lot of contacts, which truly helps in a market as large as Miami. She recommended my florist, DJ, and invitation shop (amongst others) and without those vendors my wedding would not have been the same. On the days leading up to the wedding she ensured every detail was accounted for and organized a timeline for the vendors. When it rained on our wedding day, she was patient with my anxiety and pulled off a miracle change of area for our cocktail hour in the last minute. She even brought a Brazilian assistant to help with my family from Brazil and who kept me calm all day. She stayed with us all night long and was the last vendor to leave making sure all of our belongings were safe. I can't thank her enough for helping the whole planning process and if anything went wrong on our day she handled it and I never knew about it.

We had a great experience working with Joni and her team for our destination wedding at the Boca Resort. In the months leading up to our big day she continuously stayed in constant contact with us, making sure that everyone was on schedule. As a destination wedding this was very important to us. She kept us on task and helped direct us in the right way if any needs or questions came up. She always had good solutions/alternatives when obstacles presented themselves. She was always very accessible, and returned our calls/texts/emails extremely promptly - every time! Leading up to our big day all the scheduling and itineraries were taken care of in great detail, and in place for our family and friends. When it came time to deal with the resort and our other vendors Joni made sure things went smoothly on all fronts so we could enjoy our day to the fullest.
On our wedding day her team was there at every step, completely capable of handling all the little things that came up, including sourcing a new bow tie for the groom at the last minute, and managing the very up and down weather leading up to the outdoor ceremony. Her team kept us at ease and the overall flow of the day ran well. We would highly recommend Joni and her team. Their experience was invaluable and it helped our special day be the best it could possibly be. Joni is simply the BEST!

Right after we got engaged, a friend recommended Joni to us. It was by far the most valuable engagement gift we received. Within a week of our first phone conversation, Joni set up tours with venues and started assisting us with the negotiations.

She was there every step of the way; listening to our needs, recommending other vendors, and helping us make decisions. No call, text, or email was too early or too late in the day for Joni. She was always responsive, honest, and knowledgeable.

Her team was so on top of it all on the big day. Every detail was thought out and scheduled perfectly. Not a single thing was overlooked. Our friends and family are still raving about how beautiful, elegant, and FUN our wedding was. And it could not have happened without Joni and her team.

There aren't words to describe how amazing Joni is but I'll try.
She is literally a wedding angel.

Do not hire her for "Day Of" or "Month Of" planning-- go for "Full Service Planning"... TRUST ME. My wedding is over & I already miss her phone calls and texts!!

I must have called a dozen wedding planners last year -- some were not pleasant to talk to, some didn't call back promptly, etc. But Joni was prompt, professional and friendly. Talking to her on the phone felt like talking to a close friend or family member. She was there for my fiance & I every step of the way. She handled every single issue we ran in to the SECOND it was brought to her attention. Every vendor or company she recommended was spot on. She was open & honest about pricing, preparing us well for the extra tips and taxes we'd have to pay. She was always available with amazing suggestions and options. She understands difficult family dynamics and differing cultures. Anything I forgot to bring with me she had. When my husband stepped on my dress & ripped part of my bustle out Joni was there with pins to put it all back in place. Everyone in my family had very nice things to say about her after the wedding. Amazing, incredible, an angel in disguise...these are only a few of the many words to describe Joni. From our first conversation, she “got me” & I hired her as a full service planner, but what I got was so much more.
Booking vendors was easy; she sent me options she felt were a good match. It was great b/c it kept me from having to stress & do a ton of research about credibility, costs, etc. Amazing thing was, I never had to go past her first suggestions! And the one vendor I tried to do on my own, I ended right back with Joni’s first suggestion. (I should mention all my vendors were great!)
Brides told me how stressed they were & said “you & your fiancé will fight during this, it is part of it”. Well stressed should have been my middle name b/c, while engaged, I got a promotion that caused me to travel weekly, my husband changed jobs, & we bought/renovated a new house. But for me, that was not the case! Joni made the process seamless, easy & stress free all of which I am beyond thankful for!
The weeks before, she was on top of every detail, keeping me in the loop, but understanding & being respectful of my schedule. The week of the wedding, I had a family emergency & without hesitation, Joni took care of every detail that needed to be changed.
Rehearsal started normal but unfortunately I had another family emergency. She not only kept my bridal party composed, she kept me composed. She handled the entire thing with grace & respect. The day of the wedding, I can happily say everything went off perfectly. Her & her team were magnificent, from the little details, to ensuring everyone was happy & comfortable, to her attentiveness to me & my husband. She left no stone unturned.
Funny story to highlight Joni’s expertise & personal touch; I was getting off the dance floor & called her name, she locked eyes with me & asked “veil?” I was like “how did she know?!?! But that’s Joni; the most attentive, in-sync & amazing planner that I was truly lucky enough to find!

Joni and her team were an absolute dream. From the moment we first spoke on the phone until the moment we were on our flight to our honeymoon, Joni ensured that every detail was considered and executed to perfection. We had a 200 person wedding weekend in Miami Beach with rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception, and Sunday brunch. Joni kept track of all our vendors, negotiated on my behalf, coordinated contracts, and oversaw cohesion. Her guidance and expertise are unmatched.
No matter what issue arose, no question went unanswered. Joni was extremely responsive and most importantly incredible even-keeled. Our insane Jewish & Italian families were not easy to coordinate, but she was able to keep everyone focused, on task, and enjoying every minute.
I think the most helpful things Joni did were the following: 1. day of schedule 2. reception schedule 3. coordinating vendors
To elaborate, Joni ensured that the personal flowers got to me on time, the caterers knew when to send out the next course & clear things etc, the music turned up or down, the attention was directed when needed, the photographers were focused to the right people, and I could go on. But essentially she ensured that everything happened when it was intended to happen and quite seamlessly to boot. The evening went so incredibly smoothly from me as the bride's perspective, my parents' perspective, all of our guests shared this sentiment - it was really just perfectly orchestrated and could not have happened without Joni.
She is a deeply beautiful person inside and out and ensured that every wish my husband and I had was met and exceeded (and those of our crazy parents). I am forever indebted to her and would recommend her wholeheartedly.

My family and I were recommended to Joni by one of the catering managers at the Rusty Pelican in Miami, where my reception was held. From the moment we met with her for our initial meeting, we knew Joni was the wedding planner for us. I live in Orlando, but I had my wedding in Miami, so I needed to make sure I had someone I could count on. Joni made it so that the long distance was a non-issue. She was very communicative throughout the whole process, quickly responding to all of our emails and touching base monthly over the phone. She helped us set up wedding timelines so nothing slipped through the cracks. For my wedding this April, she had one of her coordinators, Laura, with me, the bridesmaids, my mom and mother-in-law as we were getting ready while she made sure everything was under control at the Rusty Pelican. Laura went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Even though we were running behind schedule when we arrived at the reception, Joni made sure that we got back on track without missing a step. It’s been a month since our big day, and people are still calling it “the wedding of the century.” So Joni, thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!

Joni, we can’t thank you enough. As an engineer, I know how advance planning avoids so many mishaps. Your patient and uplifting leadership, attention to detail and always aiming to create “Our Special Day” was invaluable. And you listened to us, agreeing with our good ideas while calmly steering us from our not-so-good ones. From our first meeting, we knew you were the one. You kept us on schedule, thought of everything and knew a multitude of quality vendors. We went into the wedding day very much at peace, knowing everything had been thoroughly planned. Laura did an amazing job of keeping the 11 women on task while they were beautifying before the wedding. Before arriving at the Rusty Pelican, we knew you had everything taken care of. You and Ana Maria did a great job with crowd management and helped us recover from our late arrival to get us back on track quickly and seamlessly. I never took my timeline out the entire night, which you know was a miracle, that’s how much at peace I felt!

We heard endless raves during and after the party, like “best wedding ever!”, and not a single complaint, which is impossible to pull off. We know much of that is thanks to advance planning. Rest assured, anyone who asks us will hear nothing but raves! You can certainly count on our recommendation and referrals. Again, thanks for everything!

My wedding day would not have been what it was without Joni and Brigette. We chose the "Month of Coordination" package with Your Special Day. Leading up to the big day, Joni provided vendor recommendations and coordination. She handled all timeline details with them and kept in communication with everyone the week leading up to our wedding so I did not have to do so. That alone is worth its weight in gold. The week of your wedding your head is going to be spinning, you will want someone else responsible for answering questions about where vendors park, when they show up, and what they should do if they need something additional.

I could not imagine getting married without a day of coordinator, I'm so glad I spent the money. Bride Tip: the catering manager/venue coordinator, is not the same as having your own dedicated Coordinator/Planner on site. Every little thing you think of at the last minute, "where did I put those vows?", "how do I get the rings to the photographer and videographer then also make sure they both end up back with the best man?" "did anyone see the MOH shoes?" "Oh and my mom is freaking out, can someone calm her down?" Consider it all handled when Joni is there. I didn't even need to finish a sentence before Joni and Brigette were on the case. At the end of the night they packed up all of our personal items and brought them to the bridal suite so we could enjoy the party.

Joni, Brigette, and Jim made all of our dreams come true. I could not imagine a more perfect day.

Advice... before anything else, make sure Joni is available! Then pick a date, venue, etc. Joni was such a major part of my wedding day and planning process. I can say with confidence that the event would have been totally different without her. I am sure there are hundreds of qualified planners in South Florida, but Joni's professionalism and care are a really unique combination that makes her simply the best. I worked with her for over a year, well she put up with me and my family for over a year :) and we really cannot say enough about Joni and her ability to make the wedding day simply beautiful.

Joni was amazing!! Book Joni if you want to make sure everything goes super smooth and if you need someone to keep you on track! My fiancé at the time, now my husband :) and I are super busy and needed someone to stay on top of us to make sure nothing slipped through our fingers, like reserving the room blocks for the out-of-town guests, choosing a hair stylist or even making it to our next appointment. Joni helped us with vendor choices, she handled an issue we had with our entertainment company and worked with the hotel on our behalf to make sure we got everything we wanted on our Wedding Day. Joni is super sweet and was a pleasure to work with and easy to communicate with. She worked around the clock and responded to emails and phone calls even at midnight, especially when something was urgent and needed immediate attention. Tomorrow will be two months since my wedding and I haven't taken time to write Joni a review because I couldn't find enough time in the day to write as much as I'd like to praising her work. So, I will do my best in the little time I have right now to let the wedding world know that for every bride-to-be, Joni is your fairy godmother. I wasn't as enthusiastic in the planning process as other brides can be. Sometimes I enjoyed the planning process and other times I hated it, that's where Joni came in. I called around to another few planners, but after our first phone call, Joni left me feeling comfortable and very excited.
My husband Jason and I got married at the Flagler museum and within their vendor list Joni has a list of vendors she uses regularly. When we wanted to move in a different direction, specifically with the caterer, she did her homework and vetted out everyone until we found the perfect fit (just to note, there was nothing wrong with the first caterer, it was strictly a matter of preference). All of the vendors she recommended were amazing. The first thing she recommended was the band. They were so good that a guest hired them for his niece's wedding that night! I didn't take her initial advice on the photographer and hired one she was hesitant about. Sure enough they took horrible photos at our engagement shoot and stole our deposit. We fired them and went with her original recommendation and I could not be happier.
Joni is a combination of your boss, maid of honor and mom all wrapped into one. You know when she means business and will be on top of you when necessary, she's there for you to vent to in bridal crisis, but you know it will all work out and she will take care of you. Everyone said I was so calm on my wedding day and I know that a big part of that was because of Joni. If something went wrong that day I couldn't tell you because Joni did everything she could to make sure it really was my special day.

Early in my wedding planning process I thought that, with my mother's help, I would have no problem planning my wedding on my own. Boy was I wrong! Once Joni came on board, she was able to answer our questions, coordinate with vendors, and give us ideas for unique elements we could add to make our day truly memorable. Joni was always responsive, handled the mundane details (of which I wanted no part!), and most importantly, was an absolute pleasure to work with. The day of my wedding, I was able to completely focus on being in the moment and enjoying every minute with friends and family. Joni and her assistant, Jamie, were on top of everything from start to finish and ensured everything was executed seamlessly. One of the best things about working with Joni is that she has forged great relationships with so many vendors and works incredibly well with all of them. I had chosen all of my vendors prior to bringing Joni on board and she had worked with all of them numerous times. The rapport she had with them was really invaluable in ensuring they each understood my husband's and my vision for our day. Joni was like family by the end of our time working together and I highly recommend her to any bride who wants a flawless, stress-free wedding day!

Look no further than Joni if you want your wedding day to be even more magical than you had originally thought. We hired Joni to help us with the "month of" and she did NOT disappoint. If I had any question, no matter what time of day, she was there ---- I would even send her emails here and there prior to the month of our wedding and she could not have been more helpful. The week leading into the wedding, we had a final sit down to lay out how the day should play out. I felt so good about her orchestrating everything (I may be one of the most type A brides out there, so handing over control is a huge deal) and she truly allowed my mom to enjoy this whole process, rather than worrying about all of the vendors etc the month leading into the big day. When there was something "wrong," she did the best job of not alarming me on my wedding day and handled it like the professional that she is. Her assistant, Laura, was spectacular as well. I have never felt more taken care than I did on my wedding day. Joni made sure each vendor put everything where it needed to be and was sure to even attend to every guests questions or what not during the reception. We met with almost a dozen wedding planners but we knew right away when we met Joni that she was the one! She is so sweet and helpful and positive – as well as professional. She knows all the vendors in the industry and has great relationships with them all. Her recommendations for photographers, caterers, florists, etc. were terrific. Joni set up and attended every meeting with vendors. We're based in NYC and couldn't get down to FL very often; with just a few directions from us, Joni managed to create the most spectacular wedding I could ever imagine. She planned our wedding shower, NYE party, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and post-wedding brunch. All five events were perfect! I still can't believe what an amazing job Joni did. She really became part of our family; she was there for us 24/7 and made everyone (us, our families, guests, etc.) feel special. She handled everything for us, from invitations and rsvps, to coordinating with vendors and making sure everything ran smoothly on the day - even now that the wedding is over, she's still been available to help us with our wedding albums, thank you cards, etc.

My family and I will never forget how wonderful Joni was and I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone who is planning a wedding. Joni is the best!

I’m not great at decision making. I don’t know anything about design. I’d never bought flowers for myself—let alone for an entire venue. The only invites I’d ever personally sent out were on Facebook. And oh yeah—I’d never been to a wedding before!

So it was clear from the start that I was going to need some serious help. Enter Joni—the most together person I have ever met in my life. The way she juggles brides and vendors and details while still making each of them feel like they are her top priority is something to be applauded.

Before I knew what was happening she’d typed up agendas and deadlines, helped me pick my vendors, haggle the prices, check off what we did (and really didn’t) need. She found us our florist, caterer, valet, hair dresser and make-up artist. She coordinator with our venue manager (who she already knew—as she knows everyone in the industry here in South Florida.)

She ensured everyone had their payments and tips ahead of time so that we didn’t struggle with a messy exit after the reception. She was there from Save the Dates to making sure every last remaining favor was packed in our car on the way back to the hotel.

I know that I could never have orchestrated this event without her. I don’t think I could have even imagined a wedding like the fairytale one I had—had she not stepped in to show us the way.

Answered every call. Replied to every email. Never late. Never forgetful. On the night of the wedding, she had a terrible head injury right in from of us. She regained her balance and just pushed right on through like nothing happened. It was crazy—but to know Joni means knowing that, to her, every event is the most important night of your life.

If you can get on her client list—you’re one lucky, lucky bride!

Joni never steered us wrong in giving advice about every aspect of my daughter's wedding. The custom invitations we had made were stunning, the cake was beautiful, the hair and make-up artist she selected was awesome, and all of the special touched that she recommended and we agreed to were perfect. She was extremely helpful in organizing all of the special touches on the day of the wedding, and she minimized our need to contact vendors and get what we wanted done accomplished. She always was available by phone, and answered emails promptly. In addition to having great ides for special touches, she was open to our own sometimes crazy ideas and she was a great mediator between mother and daughter. We never felt pressured to go overboard with this wedding in any way (my ultimate fear of using a wedding planner), and we were completely comfortable with everything that took place. I was so attached to Joni by the end of the whole thing, that I was sad when we parted ways.

Joni was amazingly awesome. We live in NJ and got married in South Florida, and she helped our lives more than we could have imagined. From sending her boxes of wedding stuff weeks before to meeting her in person, to answering emails and calls at all hours of the day, Joni was always there for us. She calmed nerves and made sure everything was just right for our wedding day. Someone broke a drink glass on the dance floor and Joni was back in the kitchen getting a cleanup crew before I could open my mouth.

She made us think about things we would not have thought about ourselves and made the whole process A LOT easier. If all vendors were as good as Joni then weddings would be a breeze to plan. Thanks Joni!

Joni helped me plan a two day wedding event for over a year. I live in California and got married in Miami. She was professional, funny, and patient throughout the entire process. Our wedding weekend went according to plan. I was lucky to have Joni and Susan next to me the entire weekend. If you are looking for a wedding planner I highly suggest Joni for you special day. You will not regret it.

Joni did an incredible job. She was extremely professional and she made sure everything that we wanted to happen at our wedding, happened. Joni helped make sure our vision came to life and she even stayed with us until the end of the night. She came with me to planning meetings, got to know me and our families, helped with our rehearsal, and was the last vendor to leave at the end of the night. She did an amazing job and received several compliments from my guests. Thank you Joni for making our day amazing. I would recommend her to anyone.

I have nothing but good things to say about Joni! She was organized and prepared and fun and calming but also assertive with vendors where need be. She was very involved and responsive and willing to work around my busy schedule and was always available for me. She had a lot of good ideas and connections and she made everything come together beautifully. I recommend her wholeheartedly and with great pleasure!

I started planning my wedding a year and a half ago. I was so nervous and overwhelmed. I had no clue where to start. I knew I needed a wedding planner. I spoke to a few, but there was no connection. Then I called Joni and it clicked. Just the calmness of her voice set me at ease with wedding planning. I knew we were in good hands. Now, I live in central Florida- but that was no issue for Joni. We had regular (or really, whenever I needed to) chats on the phone or even via text if I really needed to. She put me in contact with the BEST vendors. I mean top of the line. And all the vendors love working with Joni and have a great relationship with her- which made my wedding day even better. My wedding went SO smoothly. I had fun- which I did not know was possible. I enjoyed every minute of my wedding. The reason- because Joni handled everything. My friends and family are still (almost a week later) calling me and saying they could not believe how beautiful the event was- or how calm I was. I 100% believe it was because Joni was my wedding planner. I also wanted to note that if you are having a traditional Jewish wedding like I did- Joni IS FOR YOU! She knew more about what had to happen at a Jewish wedding-than I did. She is a true mensch! When I think about my wedding- I get emotional. It really was the best day of my life. I owe it to Joni. My husband (very fun to say now!) and I highly recommend her. She is a part of our life now and we are so grateful she made our first day as a married couple unforgettable! Love you, Joni! Joni was simply amazing! Any bride would be lucky to have her help with planning their special day! My wedding day went so smoothly with Joni behind the scenes taking care of all the details. This allowed me to relax and get prepared for my walk down the isle. Everything turned out beautifully and all that I had imagined it would be!

Joni was absolutely amazing to work with! we planned our wedding in 5 months and she did not miss a beat! She listened to us, heard our vision, helped us make decisions and guided us the right direction to help make our special day come true... without stress! She was fun, professional, connected and we could not have done it without her. Her staff was also wonderful.
The night was so perfect that we want to do it again! Our guests continue to rave about what a perfect evening it was and how smooth everything went.
We are so grateful that we had Joni on our team because she made it easy, fun and brought everything to our attention that I would have otherwise completely overlooked.

Joni and her team are the BEST of the BEST!!!!! I have lots of friends who have gotten married and it always seemed so stressful to plan the wedding but NOT when you work with Joni! I can honestly say that planning my wedding was extremely fun and enjoyable because I had Joni's help. She knows every amazing vendor, has unique and creative ideas, and ensures that everything is absolutely perfect. Without her help our wedding wouldn't have been so amazing and her team ensured everything went according to plan all weekend long. By far the most amazing wedding planner on the planet!

Joni is a bride's dream come true! She is so helpful, organized, responsible, professional, and FUN! When I got engaged I was new to town. I had no idea where I wanted my wedding and had no idea how I was going to plan this wedding without knowing what vendors I could trust. I left my wedding in Joni's hands. Joni responded to my texts, emails, calls, at all crazy times of the day. She worked around my work schedule to have our meetings. Joni got me great vendors with my band, photographer, and venue. Without Joni none of that could have been possible. She is so organized. She has a timeline that will layout your whole wedding for you. It will make you think about every detail ahead of time to make sure you have everything covered. Joni was not just my wedding planner she was part of my wedding. Joni never says no to a requests you ask her to do. She is all for the bride. She is the best Event Planner I have ever heard of and I work within the business. I couldn't thank Joni enough for her services. She gave me the wedding of my dreams! Thank you Joni!!!!

At the beginning of our wedding planning, my fiance and I were not planning on using a coordinator. As the date neared, we felt it would be necessary to have someone help with the details and such. It turned out to be the best idea ever! Joni and her assistant Laura were amazing prior to and on the day of our wedding! Our entire wedding party was from out of town and Joni was here with us to help every step of the way to coordinate all of the logistics! When we arrived at the venue everything was perfect and went beautifully! We cannot thank Joni enough for her help! 100% worth it!!!! Thank you!

Joni was absolutely amazing. She created a very special experience for my wife and I. We definately would not have had such a beautiful wedding without her help. It has been 4 months since our wedding and we are still having friends and family tell us how perfect everything was. She made a potentially stressful process very easy and relaxing. She handled everything for us so all we had to do was enjoy the experience that she created. We are very picky and Joni did an excellent job of taking our vision and making it come to fruition. We did not have to settle for anything, Joni made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I would recommend her to anyone!

Joni was available whenever I emailed, texted and/or called her. She was sweet and honest and had her assistant there the morning and afternoon of my wedding and she was there for the entire ceremony and celebration! They were both very professional and I would definitely recommend them!

I am writing this review as an extremely satisfied customer of Joni's, who executed my wedding flawlessly 2 weeks ago. From the very beginning (over a year in advance), Joni was in touch with me and involved in every stage of my planning. Throughout our time together, she became like an extension of my family, and truly made the process of planning my wedding an enjoyable experience. She knows everything to do, everyone to contact, and truly took the reins with my event, making sure to touch base with me on every decision and make my vision come to life. I could NOT imagine having done this without Joni, and give my strongest recommendation that you do the same! It is the best service/vendor you will spend your money on, she is fantastic!!!

Let me first start out by saying that Joni Scalzo is FABULOUS!!!! She deserves more than 5 stars! My husband and I live in NYC and decided we wanted a destination wedding. He has ties to South Florida so we thought that would be a perfect place to have our wedding since it means so much to both of us. Before hiring Joni we were really clueless as to the style wedding we wanted and where to look exactly. I was clueless about the whole planning process as well. It was just so overwhelming for me. My mother-in-law found Joni on WeddingWire because of her flawless reviews so she called her up and they instantly clicked. Our next visit down to Florida we scheduled a meeting and it went so well! Joni is so down to earth and passionate about her job. She quickly picked up on my style and had a better sense of what we were looking for. All I have to say is that when we pulled into The Hillsboro Club in Hillsboro Beach my mouth dropped and i was literally jumping up and down with excitement. I knew that was the place and from there everything pretty much just fell into place. Joni knew exactly what vendors to pair us up with and I have to say that ALL of them were professional, fun, easy to work with and did an absolute AMAZING job. To this day I am still hearing from our guests how ridiculously good our band was (Higher Ground), how beautiful our flowers were (Dalsimer Florist), how delicious our cake was (Suzies Scrumptious Sweets) and how beautiful our ceremony was (Rabbi Lawrence Schuval). Joni just made the whole process of planning a wedding seem like a piece of cake- WEDDING CAKE! She took the stress away, was always easily accessible and answered any questions promptly. She really made us feel at ease. We are really so fortunate to have found Joni. She is such an amazing woman who cares SO much about detail and making your big day absolutely perfect and flawless. I HIGHLY recommend Joni with flying colors!!!

The soon-to-be bride and groom live in NYC, her parents in Upstate NY, we are in Washington DC. Their dream wedding was in Palm Beach. WE NEEDED HELP!! We found Joni on Wedding Wire and after reading one stellar review after another, I knew she was the angel we needed. From the day we all met she was warm, kind and passionate about their wedding vision. Fast forward 14 months, the wedding was completely amazing and most importantly the bride and groom could not have been more elated with their special weekend. Joni's recommendation of every vendor was excellent, from flowers to music to photography...everything was perfect. The day of the wedding nerves were gone because everything was detail oriented and planned perfectly which left us to focus on only one thing...enjoying every moment.
The wedding could not have been as easy or as spectacular without Joni and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to work with an amazing planner who takes the worry out of every detail, who is always available by phone, email and text, and who truly loves making her clients feel very special. Kudos to Joni Scalzo who is really one in a million.

Joni was wonderful! She is like a second mom! We still talk and share laughs even though or wedding was over months ago! I could not image a better planner. :)
