Rather than dragging this out, I'm going to bullet point our entire experience with Reverend Judy Burroughs:
1. When we were at location to meet for our consultation she didn't show up. We called, and she told us she had food poisoning from eating produce, was hospitalized, and someone stole her briefcase so she forgot about us.
2. She promised to email us our ceremony within 2 weeks. After two weeks passed, we called and asked her if it was finished, she claimed to have email it to us, and sent us a new email with "fwd" typed into the subject.
3. The day of our wedding she said she would be mailing out our marriage license on her way home that afternoon, and that she would be editing our pictures and mailing them the next day to get them out before a larger wedding that weekend. Nearly two weeks later, the marriage license bureau had still not received our license. Mind you, I needed that to change my name before a flight so that I would have my documents in order. She claimed to have mailed it, and told my husband that technically, she has 30 days and to stop calling her. It finally made it to the office a week after that phone call.
4. We have now been married for two months, and Reverend Judy is claiming to have mailed us our photos on two separate occasions. This is the third incident she has blamed on the USPS. When I pointed this out to her, she hung up on me.

Decide for yourself, but she has been nothing but a struggle throughout this entire process, and has made our wedding day memorable in an extremely negative way.

Although I read many good reviews prior to hiring Rev. Judy as our officiant, I absolutely would NOT recommend her to anyone for many reasons. First, her website states that upon making my "Save the Date Deposit" I would receive an email confirmation from her. I never received a confirmation email. Upon calling the inquire as to whether or not our date was reserved with her, Rev. Judy told me that she was not sure why I did not receive the email and would send a confirmation to me immediately. I never received any confirmation email. Second, after several months passed, I had to contact Rev. Judy to set up a meeting a month prior to the wedding. At the meeting, we were told by her that someone had stolen her briefcase and that she did not have any of our information, although she has a blackberry and everything was booked via internet. So we basically had to give her all our information again. We were also told that she wasn't sure if she could be at our scheduled rehearsal (which I had booked with my package months before). She also asked us to pay our balance, which I had paid months before as well. Bascially, she was totally unprepared and unprofessional. At the meeting, we gave Rev. Judy vows that we had painstakenly written ourselves, and which were bascially our only specific ceremony request. We were told by Rev. Judy that we would be emailed the written ceremony within one week from our meeting, or "10 days at the most," and she would let us know about the rehearsal. I never heard from Rev. Judy and emailed her on Thursday prior to our Saturday wedding to ask for a copy of the written ceremony and confirmation of our Friday rehearsal. I was told by her that she emailed it already, but I must not have gotten it for some reason, an excuse which she had given me previously. She also said that she would email it to me by the end of the evening, but did tell me she would be at the rehearsal. I never received an email of our written ceremony. At the rehearsal, she was rude to our wedding party and referred to our overweight flower girl as a "WWF wrestler." And the worst part of it all, at the ceremony, Rev. Judy did not even bother to include our personalized vows!!!!!!!!! I almost stopped her during my own wedding to tell her to do the vows.......however, I didn't stop her because I was worried that she didn't have a copy and we didn't have them memorized. I was so upset after the ceremony that I cried. My new husband confronted her about the fact that she did not do our vows and her response was, "Well, a lot of people just read them at the reception." What?! One last thing, her website states that I would receive "a keepsake print of your vows suitable for framing on archival paper." Needless to say we never received this. I simply found her conduct to be very unprofessional and obviously, not what I wanted. I would severly caution you to hire this woman and depend on her for your special day.

She did a good job on our ceremony. Very responsive on the day of the wedding. Helped out before the ceremony and stuck around after it. She has a dry sense of humor, so you need to be receptive of that to like her work. Definitely recommend overall.

All 5's? Absolutely! When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we did not want the traditional typical wedding in a church. We are in our 40's, and have been married before. We were concerned about finding an officiant who wouldn't judge us, would be able to perform a ceremony on a Sunday in a hotel in Newport KY, and who would help us with a non-traditional ceremony. Then we found Rev. Judy and all our worries were gone. Flexibility with time and place - yes! Adaptability with last second changes - oh yes! Communication via email, voicemail, and in person - flawless with her! Responsiveness - prompt, courteous and positive! Quality of service - words cannot even begin to convey how amazing our service was, how much we were moved by the service and how she listened to every small detail we talked about and worked it into the ceremony. She was so beautiful in her Renaissance dress and it fit in perfectly with our Scottish/Irish ceremony. Value for the cost - I must ask you, as a bride, can you truly put a cost on making sure your ceremony is wonderful? The value is in the friendship, the words written and love felt on the happiest day of your life.

We plan to have Rev. Judy join us on our 10 year anniversary to renew our vows. And when we hit 40 years, we want her to marry us all over again!

I would recommend her with all my heart and all of my professional experience as an event planner.

Rev Judy is amazing. She was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. She also has something she calls her 911 bag. It had everything you could ever need for a wedding in it from hair pins to an extra Unity Candle set. I would recommend her to everyone!
