  If you a planning a wedding for fewer than 100 guests, this is the place to do it! Not only was the venue perfect, the table-to-farm food top notch, but the personal service from Heather Renz the hotel event coordinator, was over and beyond! She nearly worked around the clock for two days to make sure everything ran smoothly.
  
  We had a gathering for around 25 people (we thought it was going to be 20) the night before our Sunday luncheon wedding. We had it in the fireplace library room, one of the lobby larger alcoves. We wanted to serve finger food hors d'oeuvres, enough for dinner. Heather made sure that signs noted that a private event was happening. We realized that we may have under-ordered, but Heather was there and suggested we ordered flatbread and chicken wings, which were delicious add-ons for sure. Everyone had plenty! (I actually enjoyed this event more than our wedding as I was truly able to mingle and talk with everyone!) Truly, this gathering was a wonderful afterthought!
  
  The wedding went off with the usual minor hitches that Heather handled without us realizing there were even hitches! Did I say the wedding food was outstanding - I wish it was a little hotter but other than that the timing of the meal serving before all of the toasts was spot on!
  
  The room our second night was a bit chilly, problems with the heat? That's the only negative, I can think of regarding our wedding weekend. The room was a suite - quite large, lovely appointed and comfortable.
  
  Ultimately, our wedding weekend was spectacular and I believe that was because of Heather's total dedication to making sure our wedding was 'perfect'.

  My husband and I were recently married at St. Paul's Parish on K St., about a block from The Melrose Hotel. We reserved a block of rooms at The Melrose for our guests, and because my husband and I are not from DC, for us, our families, and the bridal party. We couldn't have been more happy with The Melrose. When we checked in we had a lot of luggage because we were staying for the weekend, and in addition to our regular clothing, we had our attire for the wedding as well as various odds and ends - favors, the guestbook, a card box, etc. The valet was very helpful and patient. We also asked the valet to bring around and then later park our car at least more than twice each day because we were running pre-wedding errands. Again, the valet was very helpful and patient.
  
  The hotel itself was renovated within the last year and was very clean. Many of our guests commented on convenient location, the large and clean rooms, and the reasonable price the hotel extended to our guests. Some hotels will not extend the block-rate to wedding guests once all of the rooms within the reservation that was initially made are taken. The Melrose extended the reduced to rate to all of our guests even though we exceeded the number of rooms in the block.
  
  We would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend The Melrose for special events.

  Stayed at the Melrose Hotel, great location. Was going to get married outside but weather did not allow that, so the Melrose hotel upgraded our room to a suite and it was big enough to have 8 to 10 people in it. The Hotel catered our reception and went out of there way to make sure everything was perfect, and it was more than we expected........
