Planner and 2nd Mother all in one!
I would absolutely recommend working with Angie and her Sapphire Celebrations team! I am a Denver native, however, I currently live in Nashville. Angie was so helpful in scouting venues and vendors for us, and be our local eyes and ears for our Colorado Springs wedding. I was a bride with a lot of "ideas". She would listen to each one and help me source it for the wedding with a smile. Having her be on our team from the rehearsal dinner through the following Sunday allowed for all of us to enjoy ourselves, as she handled any and all curve balls. By the end, my family started referring to her as our second mother! Thank you again Angie, your truly helped make our wedding weekend perfect! -

Best wedding coordinator!
Angie was absolutely amazing! She worked seamlessly with the venue staff to ensure my day ran smoothly. She also went above and beyond when I had issues with my dress. If anything went wrong on my wedding day, Angie took care of it before I ever even knew! -

Highly, highly recommend!
Working with Angie and her team was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the moment we started planning to the very last dance, she was right by my side — calm, encouraging, and so incredibly helpful every step of the way.
On the day of the wedding, Angie handled everything so seamlessly — picking up details I hadn't even thought of, coordinating with vendors, and making sure the entire day ran perfectly. As an event planner myself I kept asking "What about..." and Angie confidently reminded me she had it covered and all was handled - keeping me the Bride at all times. I always felt supported and cheered on, and I never had to worry because I knew she had it under control.
Not only is Angie an amazing planner and calming presence, but she also has a fantastic network of vendors, which made the entire process even easier. I am beyond grateful for everything Sapphire Celebrations did to help create the most incredible, stress-free day. Highly, highly recommend! -

The absolute BEST!
If I could give Angie & her team 10 stars, I would! The planning process is stressful as is, and Angie made it a point to help me break things down into manageable tasks. She was communicative, prompt & professional every step of the way.
We worked so well together, it got to the point where Angie could read me like a book. Day of, she could sense when I felt stressed or needed a moment away from everyone and would act swiftly to ensure the day was everything we dreamed it would be. I would often refer to her as a ninja because whenever I said "I need to talk to Angie" she would literally just appear!
My only sense of sadness is that I don't get to plan more events with her! My husband & I are forever grateful for the magic she created with her vendor partners (who were all A++), and we cannot recommend Sapphire Celebrations enough! We love Angie :) -

We recently had the privilege of working with Angie Johnston for our wedding at The Broadmoor, and we can honestly say we couldn’t have done it without her. From start to finish, Angie was an absolute dream to work with.
Throughout the entire planning process, Angie was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. She made the often-stressful process of planning a wedding so much easier and more enjoyable. My wedding was absolutely perfect and magical all thanks to Angie! We could not have asked for a better wedding planner to work with than Angie at Sapphire Celebrations. She is super detailed oriented which really put my mind at ease knowing that I could relax and enjoy the process since she had a handle on everything. She made us feel like we were her only clients even though I know she's hard at work on several projects at once. You can tell that she's super passionate genuinely enjoys what she does. Made Our Special Day Perfect!
Hiring Angie was the best money that we spent on our wedding. We needed a day of coordinator for our location and she was the top preferred vendor for our location. Angie was super easy and fun to work with and took so much stress away from us that I wish we hired her sooner to help plan the whole thing. She truly made the entire experience of planning and the wedding day special and we can not thank her enough for all her hard work to make our special day perfect!-

Angie Johnston with Sapphire Celebrations was the best. Handled everything. I didn’t have to stress about anything she was so on top of it. Really made the whole day go by without a hitch. And I think having her as a full planner as apposed to just day of coordination was so worth it. We planned for over a year together and I really felt like she got the vision and knew exactly what I wanted and needed! I cannot emphasize enough how she took the stress out of wedding planning. It was a truly a fun experience. I could not have had the perfect wedding day without her! -

Our reception would not have happened without this team!
Angie and the Sapphire Celebrations team were incredible to work with! I found Angie 6 months before my wedding reception, and I truly wish I had hired her way before then! She helped me with everything, and talked me through so many decisions and conversations that would have been really challenging on my own. She navigated vendor relationships, found us incredible vendors within our budget, and helped keep everything organized. The day of, she made our vision into a reality, and we had the most spectacular evening. She helped with everything, from set up, to guest coordination, to keeping us on our timeline, and clean up. Angie is a wonderful woman, and my wedding would not have been what it was without her help! I will recommend Angie and Sapphire Celebrations to anyone that asks. They are amazing at what they do, they are all so kind, and they know how to make you feel so special on your big day! -

As someone who is very controlling, I was worried about giving in and letting someone else manage all the details of my wedding day. But, let me just say, I am SO glad I had Angie by my side throughout the entire process. From vender recommendations to handling all the nitty gritty details/contracts, she helped us navigate all corners of the planning spectrum with ease. She also helped ensure that my vision came life, even though I have a very opinionated and stubborn mother.

Completely took the day-of details and stress off the bride
Angie was our day-of coordinator for our wedding at the Broadmoor. Angie's relationship with the hotel staff and other vendors ensured that our wedding weekend went perfectly. I handed off the details to Angie a week or two out and didn't worry about a thing for the whole weekend. Angie was great to work with, responsive, and very knowledgeable about the industry. Having Angie as our day-of coordinator was absolutely incredible. After our initial meeting with her a few months before the wedding, my now husband said "I feel better already." She was responsive to all of our asks and make sure that everything went smoothly from the time we hired her to the moment the wedding ended. I don't think I would have had a wedding if it wasn't for Jaime!! Booking her was the best money that we spent. She met with our venue, my mom and I really early without complaint and helped us organize and ask the right questions. She met with myself, the caterer and the venue closer to the wedding and really made us feel like we had everything together and if we didn't it was okay because she would make it all happen! She ran the rehearsal in her awesome calm/assertive manner and people talked about how nice it was to have someone run things in a way that they didn't feel yelled at. On the day of, she put everything together with her assistant, kept us on our timeline and ensured the day went off without a hitch. It was a perfect day and it would not have been without Jaime! I loved working with her and I think she did an incredible job. I would tell anyone to hire her!!! -

Hiring Angie from Sapphire Celebrations was one of the best decisions I made! I was doing all the planning myself and 2 weeks before the wedding, I decided it would be so helpful to have a "day-of" coordinator that can be in charge of the day and help with last minute details. I am so happy I did this! Angie stepped right in and started taking care of everything. It was like she had been a part of it the whole time. And honestly, I wish I would have hired her way sooner. She was so knowledgable and made everything so easy. She did a great job with communication and was just a really fun and awesome person to work with. The actual wedding day went so smoothly and it was all because of her! My parents actually got to enjoy the wedding instead of having to worry about set up and clean up and a timeline and getting tips to vendors. Angie took care of everything and was such a blessing to have! I would 100% recommend Sapphire Celebrations to anyone who is wanting a wedding planner. So stop looking and go book them now!-

Hiring Angie with Sapphire Celebrations was one of the best decisions we made. My daughter and I both thought we could handle the wedding planning and logistics but about 5 weeks before the wedding thought we might like to have someone else handle all the “day of” details. Angie jumped right into the process 30 days prior to the wedding. She handled all the vendor confirmation details and coordination between the venue and vendors regarding schedules and deliveries. On the day of the wedding she and her assistant, Pam, had things under control so all we had to do was show up and enjoy the day.
Angie was a pleasure to work with. She is friendly, organized and detail oriented. She responded to emails and phone calls in a timely manner and always followed through on what she said she would do. She took care of all the last-minute details from receiving deliveries, overseeing the reception set up, tipping vendors and just making sure everyone in the bridal party was in the right place at the right time, so that we could just enjoy the celebration. If you want to insure you have a stress free wedding day, hire Angie and Sapphire Celebrations!

Without Jaime we couldn’t have pulled off our wedding! After being engaged for over a year with zero progress on planning the wedding, our family decided it was time to bring in the professionals. Jaime helped us pull off a fairy tale wedding in less than nine months – and with a New Year’s Eve wedding- it was no small feat! She helped us secure a fabulous venue and nail down a team of all-star vendors. Jaime’s meticulous planning and day of orchestration was nothing short of extraordinary. The day went off without a hitch (at least to our knowledge). I would highly recommend Jaime and Sapphire Celebrations! -

We had Sarah as our Day-Of coordinator for our recent wedding. All I can say is, she was a total god-send! My fiance and I had pretty much arranged and booked all our vendors ourselves, but were starting to get stressed out about last-minute logistics, so we decided to hire a day-of coordinator.
Sarah was so helpful with everything from the get-go, from suggesting a limo company, to contacting all our vendors, to coordinating the wedding timeline so I could relax and enjoy the weeks before the wedding. Not to mention, the day of the wedding she got a stain out of my dress, fixed my hair, wrangled all the vendors to make sure they were where they needed to be, comforted me when I got wine spilled on my dress at the end of the night, and just in general made sure everything went off without a hitch. If you're debating whether or not to go with Sapphire Events, I cannot recommend them enough! -

Angie was my "day of" coordinator for my October 19th, 2013 wedding. She did absolutely fabulous! I had everything organized and planned during the months leading up to the wedding and was looking for someone to help with all my last minute questions and all the logistics leading up to the last couple weeks of the wedding. I could drop off a ton of things with her before so I would not have to worry about them the morning of (toasting glasses, guestbook, favors, vases, etc.) which was so nice. Over the course of the evening, everything ran smoothly and I could really just ENJOY my wedding! When it was time for our "grand exit", Angie said, don't worry, all your bags are in the car and there's some cake in there for you as well! It was so nice having all of her expertise and coordination so I didn't have to stress and worry on our special day. -

Angie provided excellent planning and advice for my daughter's wedding. She carefully determined what our budget was and helped prioritize our goals. She directed us to potential vendors. Angie was always available to us by telephone or email. She arranged a detailed schedule for the week of the wedding and the wedding day. On the wedding day she was amazing...completely organized and in control. As the mother of the bride I had the most wonderful time because Angie took care of me and the bride!

I was not someone who had spent anytime prior to getting engaged, thinking about my wedding. I had no idea what needed to be done or where to start. The best decision I made was hiring Angie as my wedding planner. While the wedding process can never be completely without stress, Angie made life easier and helped me find vendors that provided the best service at the best price. Angie always provided a good variety of vendors who could meet with us on our time schedule. As a result we had the perfect wedding, my mom got to be involved with out being overwhelmed, and both of our parents got got relax and enjoy! -

As a person (and as a bride) I have extremely high expectations. I am a control freak and organizational queen. With that said, it is extremely hard for me to hand things over to anyone else and especially my wedding. However, I gladly did when it came to working with Pam and Tinny. I instantly trusted them from the start, they have that calming, warm "mom" feeling... not in a bad way, more of like "everything is going to be okay" kind of feeling.
I trusted that everything I asked of Pam would happen. And it did. I didn't worry for one moment if something would get handled or if it would be there when I turned around. I just simply knew it would be exactly as I hoped and planned because I knew Pam was the one handling it.
Pam and Tinny are the team to have. Aside from the fact that they are so much fun to work with, they are true professionals and they get IT done. My hubby and I had a wonderful time doing a weekend of walk-throughs with them and everything in between leading up to our big day.
It was their first time working on our wedding venue in Aspen and it was as if they'd "been there, done that", no problem. It really was an easy process and I recommend them to anyone. I/we have absolutely NO complaints, just a big smile when I think about what an awesome experience it was! -

We worked with Angie Johnston from Sapphire Celebrations. We could not have asked for a better planner. During the planning process we came across several bumps in the road. Angie handled each one in a timely fashion, and solved every issue with the utmost professionalism. Come the actual wedding day, we couldn't have asked for a more smooth process. Imagine getting in a major car accident before your wedding rehearsal and missing the entire run through. Would everyone know what to do? Would it be what you envisioned even if you weren't there to help put it together?
That's what happened to us: an accident right before rehearsal that caused my hubs and I to miss nearly the entire thing. We had just gotten the totaled car towed away, then made our way up to the event site 3 hours late to find that everything was running ...perfectly.
Pam, our coordinator from Sapphire had handled everything. Showing the large wedding party around the grounds, practicing with the ring bearers and flower girls, giving instructions.
Pam was beyond helpful. She was professional, calming, and went above and beyond to take care of the guests, the wedding party, our family's and us. Pam did everything from bringing water for guests on our warm summer wedding, to creating our centerpieces, to meeting with Jon and I multiple times to ensure that everything was running on point. The night before my wedding I was going to finish tying programs together, and Pam took them from me stating "that tonight is about your friends and family, not tying programs". She tied all 200 of them without a second thought.
On our wedding day Pam and her assistant were working harder than I could have ever imagined. It was a hot day, but they fluidly set up the venue, organized our wedding party, our DJ, our cake cutting and our guests. The entire time she was responsive, flexible, creative and kind. If it were possible to give her more stars I would.

Thank goodness I hired Sapphire Celebrations for my daughters wedding. Twenty-four hours before the wedding our venue was closed by the fire department. Sapphire Celebrations immediately found us a new location and organized all of the vendors involved with a new plan. The morning of the wedding I received emails from Sapphire Celebrations with the new itinerary. Tamara had worked through the evening and was able to calm my daughter down through all of the excitement. We felt like all vendors involved had gone the extra mile to make the wedding seem like this was the original plan. It was a wonderful wedding and a wonderful day thanks to Sapphire Celebrations. -

Tami from Sapphire Celebrations was our Day of Coordinator and after 4 months I'm still talking about how amazing she was. I originally wasn't sure I needed to hire a wedding coordinator, but it was one of the best decisions I made.

I could never have planned my long-distance wedding without all the help from Pam at Sapphire Celebrations. There are not enough words in the English language to describe how wonderful Pam was to work with. I hired Pam at the beginning of my decision process (11 months out). She was always on the ball and new exactly what was going on at all times. She kept me cool and collected so that during the day of the ceremony, there was nothing for me to do except be relaxed and enjoy the day. She always had the answer to everything.

I hired Sapphire for wedding month-of and day-of coordination. The team gave us the level of care that exceeded our expectations, particularly in working with the venue, vendors, and other surprises that came along the way. From the beginning of the planning process we wondered if we should work with a wedding planner. Being a planner for my job, I thought I would be able to handle this too, well was I ever wrong. We had the wonderful opportunity to work with both Pam and Angie and they were so helpful throughout the entire process. The vendor selection alone was exceptional and saved us a ton of time and effort. While I was thankful the have them working with us along the way, the real value was the week of the wedding (our minute-by-minute schedule) and the actual wedding day. Because of them I was so relaxed and felt like nothing could go wrong. At the end of the day, things went off so well and people had an amazing time. -

Sarah was fabulous and I am not sure how I would have done this without her. She was full of helpful suggestions, adjusted to my style quickly. She was fun, dealt with situations professional and quickly as they occured and was responsive to me, my family and friends. She was fantastic and helped with the changes related to the rain.
My one comment related to Pam, she appeared to be very worked up. Since she did not know the players, she told the Groom to get out there and start seating the guests. Then she tried to get my Mother out of the way as she was walking my down the isle. Be careful of who you are demanding duties of or who you are telling to get out of the way. -

Partial focus
To be successful at planning a wedding (or any type of important event), one must give 100% focus to make it successful, be proactive in communicating with the client, and pay attention to every single detail. A wedding is made up of a few big things (food, venue, attendees, etc), and 1000 little things. Sapphire gave our wedding approximately 82% focus, which showed in all the little details.
We entrusted Sapphire Events, and the primary planner Angie, with one of the most important days of our lives. She was warm and confidence-inspiring during our virtual and live meetings, then brusque in emails. Planning a Kosher wedding, in Denver, during the tail end of a pandemic presents challenges of its own, and we were impressed with how she got quickly and fully up to speed and coordinated with the local Vaad, the caterer, and the synagogue. She helped organize and finalize details for our Friday night and rehearsal dinners, and there were many times we said (or thought) “so glad we have Angie taking care of this.” She really shines in providing guidance with turning a vision into reality with decor and linen rentals.
Communication with Angie was great at times and infrequent/terse at other times. We were able to get comfortable after we set up weekly Zoom calls.
When it came down to the last few weeks - the lack of attention to details began to show. For example, we had planned to have 10-person tables, which dictated our seating chart, floral arrangements, linen rentals, and layout. A week before the event, we found out the tables only sat 6-8, so everything had to be changed. Another example is that we had cards on the tables for people to share suggestions for a happy marriage. The pens that we bought weren’t placed on the tables. Desserts were supposed to be served to the elderly guests from the dessert bar, but never were. A plate of food was supposed to be brought out to the bride and groom and a few members of the wedding party at a small Tish/Bedekken/ “first look” a few hours prior to the ceremony. This was never brought out, and the caterer later indicated that Angie told them not to worry about it. Part of our floral decor was supposed to be left at the venue, and the bouquets loaded into SUVs; Angie had no recollection of these instructions and we had to follow up directly with the florist to get our purchased items back.
These are just a few examples of how the details of our special day weren’t handled with the care or attention needed and expected from a professional wedding planner. It’s been over a week since our wedding. There’s been no email or phone call checking in, or asking for feedback on the experience. We considered the 5 months of wedding planning a very personal experience where we shared our lives with an unrelated person. To have zero follow-up on the experience is probably the saddest and most disappointing part.Sapphire Celebrations's reply:
I wanted to respond to complaints and allegations you have made about Sapphire Celebrations in emails to others and your three business reviews.
While I know in hindsight you see some shortcomings in the service provided to you, I know Sapphire Celebrations fulfilled our contract with your mother. This is based on comments from both of you, your family and guests leading up to and on the wedding day.
Planning a wedding from start to finish in under 6 months takes clear and consistent communication. This was provided to you through an online planning portal, in person meetings, countless phone calls and text messages to relieve your concerns, weekly video planning calls, and too many emails with you both and your vendors to count. I made myself available to both of you, your mother and vendors whenever and however possible.
Regarding the catering on the wedding day there are some missing details in your allegations. The timing was confirmed regarding the food for the Tish with the catering staff. My team and I requested it several times while Brett and the gentlemen enjoyed their celebration. However, it was not delivered until after the group had moved on to the Bedeken. During the unveiling ceremony and ketubah signing there is no food, nor was there a table appropriate for displaying it during the ceremony.
When desserts and cake were displayed, I personally delivered cake to the entire head table. I then mentioned to your guests in their seats that the sweets were available. Additionally, I delivered Mr Coffee a cup of hot chocolate to enjoy. I asked the other guests at his and surrounding tables if I could get them anything to which they declined my offer.
At the end of the night I loaded as many floral pieces that would fit in the rented SUV with your four family members and their belongings. Putting more in the car would not have been safe for the driver or comfortable for your family. There was a miscommunication regarding the ceremony trees, however, they have now been delivered to your home by the florist.
I spoke with the livestream vendor directly regarding the unfortunate technology glitch impacting the recording of your ceremony. They went above and beyond to resolve the issue that was uncontrollable. Within 2 hours of you bringing me into the email conversation with the vendor informing you about situation, your response had become explicit and threatening. As per our contract, this behavior is not appropriate and breaches our contract. Inserting ourselves in the conversation once it got to that level would not have been productive.
The recommendation to set no more than 8 guests at a table was in honor of you planning the reception with a COVID conscious mindset. Seating was not finalized at this time and you continued to change it up to the week of the wedding. I worked with the florist to reuse pieces and make the additional tables as little of a financial impact as possible.
The special pens for the cards were set out on tables, however, only 6 were provided for the 11 tables at the reception. When this was brought to my attention during the reception, I provided the other tables with pens from our emergency kit.
I stand behind the service Sapphire Celebrations provided you throughout your planning and on the wedding day. We navigated questions and issues as they arose and ensured that all of your details and guests were well taken care of.
I wish you a lifetime together filled with clear communication, patience, support and love. -

Think of every reason you've been told to hire a wedding planner... Now imagine spending that money to hire someone to save you money, time, and stress, help design your big day, coordinate all the other vendors, handle the tips and not get any of that.
We could never get any idea from Angela of what she was really doing. She never reached out to us proactively to communicate anything even the week of the wedding!
She failed to provide most of what she claimed was provided and when we finally expressed our frustration with her a couple weeks before the wedding, she sent a very defensive email instead of picking up the phone and finding out how to make the situation better. Very unprofessional! She also said that she went above and beyond by giving us the names of vendors. These vendors were out of budget and wasted our time and theirs and we ended up finding others on our own.
Really the worst decision we made in the wedding planning process was hiring Sapphire Celebrations. I hate to write this but I wish someone had done me the favor of writing an honest review, it would have saved so much stress and frustration. I have so much more to say about all of this but limited space here. -

We found them incredibly and inflexible to work with. The planner was abrasive and didn't seem to really listen to what we wanted. They quit 3 weeks out via email, mid day. We were able to hire a new wedding planner that was WAY BETTER and actually helpful. They are not worth the stress or the money.Sapphire Celebrations's reply:
Free and open communications with all wedding vendors less than 30 days prior to a wedding is critical to fulfill the Day Of portion of a contract. Sapphire Celebrations removed itself from the contract with the Client when vendor communications were forbidden and our obligations were no longer able to be fulfilled.

Although I wish that I could give this vendor the glowing review that they seem to have received from previous clients I cannot, in good conscience, do so. I received a phone call from them along with Villa Parker (who was amazing!!!) in regards to a wedding that would be at relatively no cost as they were offering me and my (then) fiance the opportunity to be involved in "Marry the Military". I feel that from the beginning there were promises made by Pam that were not even close to being followed through with. I feel that it is possible that because we were receiving a $5,000 value service for zero dollars that we were treated as if we were asking the world and did not deserve it. My mother and I spend a good deal of time planning the wedding on our own due to complete lack of communication between ourselves and Pam. Thank goodness for the wonderful people of Villa Parker and their great ability to help out because if it was not for them we would have had a disaster. We felt as if the TRUE planning for the wedding (On Pam's part) was not even started until a month ahead of time. There were issues with things that we had requested that were not given to us until weeks out. It was a horrible time trying to find centerpieces that matched what we wanted with only a few weeks to go. We constantly were wondering if we were going to have what we had really wanted. It seemed that cost was an issue, when to us this was not the case. Especially if we were to have the wedding that we dreamed of. When the big day cam there were tables on the dance floor (not sure how this works?) There were other issues and again had Villa Parker not been so extremely wonderful we would have not been able to pull our vision off.
I must caution people when using this vendor. Although, from the reviews it looks as though if you are a paying customer you'll get the world.

FOR THE RECORD - Cressida and fiance, Jeremy were the couple selected for the Second Annual Marry the Military. This event honors a military couple by providing a wedding at minimal cost to them. They are responsible for wedding attire, invitations, and alcohol. In this case out of pocket expense for the couple was further reduced, as the bride's gown was provided at no cost. The venue is an annual sponsor and provides the wedding ceremony and reception site free of charge.
In addition to typical wedding coordination services, Sapphire Celebrations' responsibilities for this event included finding vendors willing to provide products and services for free. This included catering, personal flowers, aisle decor, DJ, Officiant, favors, photographer, rentals, menus, bride's hair and make-up, sparklers, and set-up crew.
The 24" crystal vases filled with Calla Lilies, offered to the couple at no cost, did not meet Cressida's vision for centerpieces. She chose to provide her own.
It is unfortunate that Sapphire Celebrations' services fell short of this bride's expectations. -
