Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at The Priory Reviews

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at The Priory in March 2023. Since many of our guests traveled from out-of-town for the wedding, we also utilized all of the rooms at the adjacent Priory Hotel for the weekend. We are beyond thrilled with how everything turned out and would highly recommend hosting a wedding or any other special event at this venue.

As a special event venue, the Grand Hall at the Priory is truly one-of-a-kind – with history, charm, and beautiful details unseen in other venues like stained glass windows and an overlook choir loft. When you combine that with the modern touches – spectacular food, valet parking, full-service packages reasonably priced, hotel on-site – it’s hard to find another venue in Pittsburgh that can compete in our opinion. In addition, we were especially dazzled by the outstanding service we received throughout the planning process, at the Grand Hall on the day of our wedding, and the Priory Hotel itself. Courtney (Director of Events & Catering Sales), Jennifer (Event Manager), and Luciano (Guest Services Manager) are absolute pros and everyone that we came into contact with was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating (Nicole and Logan at the hotel front desk, Janet at our wedding, everyone really).

If you are looking for a great wedding experience that will “wow” your guests (ours are still talking about how great everything was and how unique the Priory is), we would encourage you to consider this venue.

I cannot recommend this venue enough. From the start of planning to throughout our wedding day, The Priory staff were wonderful. Both coordinators, Courtney Burns and Jennifer Halajcio, made our day go incredibly smooth and everything was just how we wanted it. The Priory staff was attentive to our needs and both Courtney and Jennifer were so organized that we did not have to worry about anything within the planning process or the day of. I would recommend this venue and staff to anyone for any special event!

Our May 2022 wedding at The Priory couldn’t have been more perfect! We worked with Courtney throughout the planning process. Her organizational skills and attention to detail really helped us to make our big day exactly what we imagined. Jennifer worked with us during the final two weeks, and she was at the venue on the day of our wedding. She really helped to bring our vision to life through her artistic eye and by carrying out all of the small details that we had planned for and requested. She also allowed us to come help her set up the hall the day before the wedding. We really appreciated being able to see the space come to life and to be able to hand place some of our most important details. Throughout the planning process, both Jennifer and Courtney were extremely responsive, supportive, and knowledgeable. They were truly able to make everything that we requested happen.

Many of our guests stayed at the Priory Hotel over our wedding weekend, as we were able to block the whole hotel. This was extremely convenient, and all of our guests were happy with their rooms. The proximity between friends and family also made the whole wedding weekend even more fun.

We used the beautiful courtyard for our cocktail hour. It was a great way for us to have outdoor elements in our wedding reception without the risk of having plans be ruined by bad weather. Courtney and Jennifer even allowed some of our guests with concerns about Covid to eat their meals in the courtyard! This allowed some of our family and friends with Covid risk factors to still be able to take part in our big day.

During our reception, all of the staff was outstanding, and many of our guests raved about the food.

If you are looking to have your reception in a unique and beautiful space, this is your place! The reception hall is an old church and has beautiful stained glass and high ceilings. They have packages during off-season months (November-April) and for Fridays and Sundays that can help you stay within budget. Courtney was responsive throughout the planning process and always responded to our many questions very quickly. Jennifer acted as a day-of coordinator and was amazing at making sure everyone was where they needed to be and that the day flowed according to plan. The food was amazing, the service was incredible, and everyone we interacted with was so nice! I could go on and on about how amazing they were to work with. Any request we had, they were willing to accommodate. Book them for a tour ASAP!!!

Pittsburgh's Grand Hall provided the perfect venue for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner and dancing reception. The venue itself is breathtaking, evoking memories of time we spent in Europe with their beautiful churches and cathedrals. The staff at the Grand Hall are consummate professionals. From day one, working with Courtney was fantastic. She answered every question quickly and thoroughly. The planning process was a joy with her. Finally, Jenn made the day of flow seamlessly. Oh, and the food was delicious. Guests told us it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! I highly recommend Pittsburgh's Grand Hall!

We loved working with The Grand Hall for our Nov. 16 wedding. We did the "Fall For Love" package that comes with November weddings and felt we got every cent of what we paid in return for a wonderful and seamless event. We added a few add-ons that were a bit pricey but worth it to bring up the elegance and romance in the room (the light wall and lit up birch trees that are usually not part of the November package). Would 100% recommend Courtney (event coordinator) and Zach (day-of coordinator) as they were responsive, helpful, accommodating, and helped keep us calm in all the craziness! The event was beautiful and we will remember it forever!

The hall is beautiful for a ceremony and is quickly turned into a great reception hall while guests are able to go outside in the courtyard. Working with the team at the hall was great and they were very responsive. We were accommodated well for being out-of-state and got a lot of compliments from our guests about the uniqueness of the venue.

The Priory's Grand Hall was an amazing venue for a wedding. We did the Winter White Wedding package, and it was truly incredible. I worked directly with Sara Lynn from the beginning. She is a true talent, and amazing at her job. My family and I can be very overwhelming (lots of questions, lots of involvement, etc.) and she was patient, responsive and helpful. When we were making all of our final detail selections, she literally rolled up her sleeves, moved furniture around, showed me pictures, etc. I truly felt at ease on the big day thanks to her. The Grand Hall is a beautiful space. We had a reasonable sized wedding ~120 guests, and it was perfect. It's a larger room so I was concerned about being too big, and the sound not picking up, but none of that was a concern. It felt intimate, romantic, and every single one of our guests raved that it was one of the nicest wedding venues they had attended. The food was delicious, and I felt like the costs were very reasonable. We had our ceremony and reception onsite - would HIGHLY recommend for both. It looked so pretty set up for the ceremony and was transformed very quickly for the reception. Sara Lynn also made the day of - completely stress free. She handled everything, got me drinks, food when i didn't have a chance to eat, etc. Overall I couldn't have asked for better service or a more beautiful place to make memories in. Thank you sooo much!

The priory is amazing! If you are really looking for a deal, try booking a date in November or April. They have these amazing packages with great deals! The hall is beautiful, the food is incredible, and the staff is so helpful!

This venue is top notch. Beautiful atmosphere, sophisticated, Sara, our wedding coordinator was absolutely wonderful. The venue is a one on one experience without any other weddings booked on your day. Service was A++, food A++, accommodations A- My only complaint was that our overnight suite was over the kitchen and it was loud as they were cleaning uop at night.

Our wedding at the Grand Hall was the best day ever. Sara-Lynn made the entire process easy and fun. She responds to emails extremely quickly and kept me on track throughout the year. The entire staff was great the weekend of our wedding. They worked with us for our cookie table, and with all of our own decorations we brought in as well. The food and cake were PHENOMENAL. Courtney is also so helpful and sweet, and ensured our day ran smoothly! Would recommend the Priory to anyone venue hunting!!! We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

We were so happy with our entire wedding celebration at the Grand Hall. We had the pleasure of working with Sara-Lynn throughout our entire planning experience. She was outstanding. Leading up to the wedding day she was so helpful and quick to respond to correspondences. On our wedding day she was on top of everything and available at every turn. The Grand Hall was a beautiful backdrop to our wedding day. We had our Ceremony and Reception at the hall with cocktail hour held in the private courtyard. They did everything for us. All of our guest raved about the food and venue. Sara-Lynn was so accommodating to us and meet every need we had. She is very easy to work with. We can't express enough how wonderful this venue and staff is.

Everything at the Grand Hall was great! Coming from an event planner herself, I was able to relax on the day of. They set up all of our decorations as I requested and made me feel at ease. I worked with Sara-Lynn leading up to the day of and then had Courtney and Pam during the actual reception. All three ladies were professional and very helpful. They were great to work with. The food was amazing as well. We got the seafood napoleon and the chicken florentine. Everyone raved about the food. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend the Grand Hall.

The Priory was a beautiful venue for our son's wedding reception. Sarah Lynn made everything easy with absolutely no stress involved. All of the staff were very attentive to all of our guests needs down to the smallest detail. The food was phenomenal as were the sweet treats which were provided by the Priory Bakery. Many of us stayed that night at the adjoining Prory Hotel which again was better than we could have ever imagined!

We had the pleasure of working with Sara-Lynn. We can not say enough about how much we appreciate everything that she did. She took all of our worries away, her attention to detail was impeccable, and she went the extra mile at every step.

The venue was absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, and the cake from the Priory Bakery was beautiful and delicious. Our family and friends all had a blast and have not stopped talking about our reception.

We held our wedding at The Priory almost a year ago and are still receiving compliments on how convenient and beautiful it was from our guests. It is such a beautiful venue and was so convenient to have the ceremony and reception in the same room without people even needing to move from their table. Sarah Lynn was amazing. We had A LOT of road blocks and almost catastrophes that had nothing to do with the venue, however, Sarah Lynn handled all of them and kept me out of the loop so I could enjoy the day. I didn't even know most of it was happening until my girls told me the next day. They were so easy to work with and take care of everything that it was the easiest part of the wedding planning. It's such a special place and I'm so happy that it is where the memories of our wedding were made.

We held our feb 7 2015 wedding at the pittsburgh grand hall and could not be happier . We purchased the winter grand package and it was the best value ! Trish and Sarah Lynn were amazing to work with and coordinated everything with our dj and officiant. The food was amazing and all of our gust continue to comment on this and how beautiful the grand hall is ! We could have not asked for a more beautiful and amazing wedding !! The Grand Hall was a perfect venue for our reception. The space was decorated wonderfully and the service and food was phenomenal. The staff at the Grand Hall was easy to work with and had tastings and meetings to help with the decision making process during the planning stages.

Words can not describe how perfect my wedding was (sorry to brag)! The Priory did an amazing job and was easy to work with. They are willing to help you in any way. I was nervous about the food because you book the venue before you get to taste any food. Let me reassure you, IT IS AMAZING. I had a lot of compliments from my guests regarding how tasty everything was. No one went home hungry. Beautiful and Unique venue.

I am a musician and a wedding vendor myself, and so when planning my wedding, I had the advantage of already having experienced some of the most beautiful wedding venues in Pittsburgh. Five years before my engagement, I played for a cocktail hour that was held in the Grand Hall. The beauty of the venue took my breath away. Originally, I thought I would plan an outdoor wedding. However, as we were planning a wedding in Pittsburgh, a city with completely unpredictable weather (which I dealt with in playing for so many outdoor weddings at different times of the year), I decided that it was important to have an indoor party to alleviate any stress and to have flexibility in choosing a date. The Grand Hall turned out to be the perfect setting for our special celebration. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the food was fantastic!

I especially appreciated Heather, who coordinated our wedding day. She was quickly responsive to any questions I had in the months leading up to our event. She also made sure everything went really smoothly the day of our wedding.

The Priory is also wonderful in that it offers an adjacent hotel to house wedding guests. It is also very close to downtown Pittsburgh. Many of our guests walked to downtown restaurants, and some even walked to the stadium to enjoy a Pirates game.

Many thanks to the Priory for handling the circus of our two immense families with such grace, and for giving us the gift of a lovely place to house our celebration!

Absolutely AMAZING experience having our wedding at the Priory!!!!!!!!! Heather, the Priory's Event Planner, helped us every step of the way. From the moment we chose the Priory as our venue (which we fell in love with as soon as we walked in), Heather, was available to answer all of our questions, and put us at ease. She made sure to review all aspects of our wedding reception and made the hall look AMAZING on our wedding day. Our guests raved about the food and the elegance of the Venue. We also used the Priory bakery for our cake, and it was a big hit as well.. thank you so much for all your hard work Heather. you guys made my fairy tale a reality!!!

We fell in love with the Priory as soon as we saw it. We got married in March and were given the Winter Wedding Package which is a huge discount over summer months and the absolute highest-end details the Priory has to offer. My husband and I both work full-time and long hours and didn't have time to worry about small details. The Priory took care of everything! We worked with Heather, Sara-Lynn, and Christine throughout the process and each one of them made the process as painless as possible. They gave tips on details I wouldn't have thought of, made sure that every aspect of the wedding ran perfectly, and treated us - as well as all of our guests - like royalty. I can't tell you how many of our friends and family commented afterwards how professional the staff was and the food was excellent. Sara-Lynn ran our wedding reception. Everything ran perfectly and neither my husband or I felt stressed or pushed around in the least. Every detail was planned ahead of time by the Priory and it ran flawlessly. Sara-Lynn even ran to get sewing supplies when the bustle on by dress broke during the cocktail hour! The service was so smooth and flawless I was truly blown away. One of the best things about having our wedding at the Grand Hall at the Priory was having hotel rooms available in the building as well. The rooms were beautiful and very reasonably priced. We even used the apartment suite on the 4th floor for people to get together who wanted to continue the celebration after the wedding. An absolutely gorgeous property. Whether you aren't someone who is into the small details and overwhelmed by the process (like me!) or someone who wants to plan every detail the Priory will make sure your day is perfect and help you every step of the way. They were flexible and accommodated every need we had without complaint. This was an amazing cake for our wedding. We recommend the white almond with raspberry filling and buttercream icing.

We recently had our wedding at the Priory Grand Hall. It was absolutely everything we could have wanted. The venue was gorgeous, the service was excellent, and the food was really delicious. All of our guests have said what a wonderful time they had! At the end of the night, the whole staff helped us gather up leftover cookies and the valets even pulled my mom's car from the parking lot and loaded it for her! We really could not have asked for any better service!

We had our reception at the Grand Hall at the Priory on 1.25.14. From the beginning, working with Heather was easy! She is laid back but super attentive to detail. She is easy to contact and responds in a timely manner. She made sure to review all aspects of our wedding reception and made the hall look AMAZING on our wedding day. She paid attention to small details and stayed to wish us well that night. Her wedding team is also awesome to work with... From Gretchen to Sarah, the entire staff at the Priory was awesome. It is a BEAUTIFUL venue and I recommend highly....

We had a fantastic experience having our wedding at the priory. It was a little different the way they do the good tasting because the just have an open house and if you can come you can sample some but not all items. However they assured us the food has a great reputation, and they were correct. The guests and we enjoyed all of the food from appetizers to entrees. The staff was very attentive and professional and they clean everything up for you at the end of the night. All of our decorations, extra cookies, and all supplies were ready for us to load in the car. (Also, I'd like to add 2 members of the staff helped us unload our decorations etc and take them into the hall as well.) Our wedding was perfect. If you are considering a winter wedding it's extra nice because the hall was all beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Ever since we saw the Grand Hall, we knew it was a top contender for where we wanted to have our reception. The knowledgeable, professional staff that could put our minds at ease and make sure every detail was thought of made it the clear choice for us. Our day was wonderful and the Priory's detailed timeline and quick responses to my numerous emails over the last year and a half added up to a great experience. We got so many compliments on the food and how everything was perfect. We're so happy with how everything turned out, I couldn't imagine our wedding any differently.

I cannot say enough great things about The Grand Hall at The Priory. First, let me tell you about their staff. Heather, the Priory's Event Planner, helped us every step of the way. From the moment we chose the Priory as our venue, she was available to answer all of our questions, and put us at ease. We held our ceremony in the Grand Hall, as well as our reception, and everything went off without a hitch thanks to Heather's hard work before our event, and the staff's hard work that day. We were able to take wonderful pictures in the courtyard before our ceremony, and then afterwards in the garden across the street, and our pictures came out beautifully. After our ceremony in the Grand Hall, the guests came outside for a lovely cocktail hour in the courtyard with delicious hor'd ourves. The staff quickly arranged the room for our reception, and we came back in for dinner and dancing. My guests raved about the food at both the cocktail hour, and their dinners during the reception. We also used the Priory bakery for our cake, and it was a big hit. The venue itself is beautiful, as you can see in the provided pictures. And the rooms, including the bridal suite, were wonderful as well. The Priory is such an interesting place with so much history. There's even a small speak-easy style bar right near the hotel lobby, which makes you feel like you've gone back in time, in a good way!! Overall, I'd give The Priory the highest recommendation. My husband and I could not have asked for a better wedding, and we have the Priory to thank for that!

I loved every aspect of wedding planning with the Priory. The staff was super attentive and really made me feel like every detail was as important to them as it was to me. They were extremely easy to work with, and they were amazingly flexible and helpful...I'm so glad that we chose this location for our wedding. It was an absolutely perfect day!

Absolutely beautiful venue to have your reception at. The entire team at The Priory made our wedding day spectacular. It was even better than we could have ever imagined. They walked us through every step of the process and paid attention to every detail. They were very accommodating with our requests to personalize the day. They are extremely professional and answered all of our questions. I don't know if we would have been able to organize the day without their help. The food, service and atmosphere were second to none. So many people were impressed with how beautiful the Hall is. It was nice to have access to the hotel next door and the townhouse across the street. Bravo Grand Hall! Highly recommended.

Heather and the staff at the Priory made our dream reception a reality! From the breathtaking architecture to the courteous and hard-working staff no other venue can compare. Heather worked with us from start to finish. Since our wedding, we have received numerous compliments on our reception. We stayed at the Priory following our reception and unfortunately our hot water broke, so we did have cold showers, BUT they gave us a complimentary Romance Package stay to use another night to make up for it, so we went back on our anniversary!

We absolutely loved everything about our venue space! From the moment we stepped into the room, we knew that was where we wanted to get married. Each of the items included in our "fall for love" wedding package were perfect & took a lot of stress out of planning for additional vendors. Walter was such a delight to work with--he made sure that our wedding went off without a hitch.

Heather and Walter were amazing to work with during a time which could potentially be stressful for a bride. The venue itself is so charming and unique, I'm so happy that I chose the Priory. But what really made this venue stand out was Heather's and Walter's help. They made sure everything was perfect for your day. THey were prompt, professional and made whatever you wanted or needed happen. The food was awesome (the best wedding food that I've ever had). I couldn't have been happier!!!

Walter and everyone at the Priory were the absolute greatest to work with! Our entire experience was like a fairytail. From the first time we saw the gorgeous ballroom, to tasting the delicious and unique food, and everything else; it was all perfect! I can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. I would highly recommend the Grand Hall!!!

We were married in June 2010 at the Grand Hall (we had both the ceremony and the reception at the Grand Hall), and it was fantastic! We were so happy with the way that everything turned out, and the exceptional attention to detail that Walter, Heather, and their staff showed throughout the entire planning process and wedding day.

We actually had two VERY last minute seating chart changes (one 3 hours before, and another 2.5 hours before!!!), and each time Walter handled it with ease. He gladly moved chairs around, added place settings, and even had to call the chair cover company to come back and add more covers because of our last minute guest additions (Pittsburgh Chair Covers was the company, and they were also amazing to work with).

Also, the food was great, everyone commented on how great the food was, and how beautiful the entire wedding was. I definitely recommend the Grand Hall to other brides (and if you're looking for a great deal, I highly recommend getting married on Friday or Sunday because they offer big discounts!). :)

The Priory's Grand Hall by FAR has the best staff, service, food, and venue. We loved absolutely every minute of our wedding and all of our guest are still commenting it's the best wedding they have ever been to. We couldn't of done it with out the help of Walter who is the coordinator at the Grand Hall. He is absolutely the coolest, hardworking guy who takes charge and gets things done so you don't ever have to worry about a thing!

I cannot even put into words how much I loved this venue. The setting is beautiful, the food was great, and the service? You will be treated like a queen. Walter and Heather were absolutely wonderful. Very prompt to resond back when questions arise, and amazing attention to detail.

When Walter came to the limo on our wedding day, most of the bridal party that did not know him thought he was one of my "uncles" b/c of how freindly and warm he was. When I told them that he was our wedding coordinator, they were amazed! Jodi, our wedding planner didnt even have to do anything to set up, Walter and Heather took care of everything, and showed great attention to detail with everything they did!

Worth every penny! The 'wow factor' when your guests arrive at the Priory is priceless. The service...impeccable! The management...like family! We had a wonderful experience, and would do it all over...the same exact way! It's a huge space, so you are able to invite as many guests as you want. The courtyard outside is perfect for a wedding ceremony...quaint and beautiful.

This place is amazing! When I first saw the room almost done I cried lol. I wouldn't have wanted to get Married anywhere else. Sara-Lynn is unbelievable really. She should be handling million dollar weddings she's that good. The hotel front desk and housekeeping were also fantastic and very frienddly. Some communication between staff at the hotel could be better, but besides that everything was beautiful and a night no one will forget! Thanks again Sara-Lynn your the best!!!

The moment I found out about the priory, I knew this was the place for us. This was the only venue my husband and I had to look at. From the moment we walked in, we knew it was our venue. Sara-Lynn was amazing. She always responded to our emails and calls the same day and was truly our wedding planner. The Thursday before the wedding, she met with me walked me through every detail and introduced me to all her staff. I was worried the night of the wedding that she wasn't going to be there but the rest of her staff did an amazing job. We have received so much feedback from family and friends on how impressed they were with the venue, service, food and DJ. I can honestly say I would not change one thing about my wedding. Yes, it was a stretch on our budget but the food (crab tilapia and almond chicken) was amazing! I would highly recommend the Priory. I wish I could relive this night all over again, minus the rain! Everything for the wedding as phenomenal - the food was to die for, even the appetizers were delicious! The bar was excellently staffed and I never saw a long line of people waiting to get drinks. Heather was fantastic, she took care of every little detail and the night went so smoothly! The food was awesome, get the mango glazed chicken with goat cheese, seriously its soooo good! Everyone said the filet was melt-in-your mouth good but I had the chicken. The service was great and the Hall looked absolutely beautiful - we added the wall of lights behind our table and I would highly recommend it, it made a great backdrop for reception pictures. We really had nothing to worry about the day of our wedding, Heather and the Hall made us feel so secure and allowed us just to enjoy ourselves!

The only thing at our reception was that we had bought glow sticks to give out, and they were never distributed - not sure if this was on the Hall or our DJ, it was definitely on me and my husband as well because we were having so much fun we completely forgot we had them - but we wish someone would have remembered.

The one negative wouldn't be for Heather or for the Hall but for the Priory Hotel - we had family and friends book their rooms months in advance so we did not block them - when they booked their room they were told a certain price but when our wedding came the price had gone up - they adjusted the rates for some of us but that would be my only complaint, that they should have given them the price the room was when they booked it.

My guests keep raving about how our wedding was by far the most beautiful reception they have ever been to. The Grand hall is magnificent with its architecture, historical character, ambiance, service, professionalism, attention to detail, quality of food, and truly a picture perfect fairytale for any bride. If you envision a stress free wedding, with exceptional service I would hands down recommend the Grand Hall. Walter and his staff go through weddings like clock work, never missing a beat. Each bride and groom is treated like royalty and constantly waited on hand and foot, ensuring the evening is run smooth and stress free. They were professional and followed a strict timeline throughout the planning process. Walter was very organized and always assured us to relax it is our day, things will go smoothly. And he was right, everything went smooth and we could not have been more pleased. The bar service was quick and guests were satisfied and content throughout the night, along with a great appetizer and dinner menu everything was perfect. The only drawback is the price is steep, but I can ensure you that it is worth every penny. To this day people are still raving about the reception and what a beautiful and perfect place to celebrate the sacrament of marriage. We regret nothing, and are so pleased with everything and will remember this day for the rest of our lives, and we are so happy we picked the Grand Hall!

We stayed at the Priory Hotel our wedding night and we were so impressed. They paid such attention to every detail. From the red roses that awaited my arrival to the breakfast in bed that was served the next morning. I want to stay at this hotel every weekend.

All of the staff at the Priory was absolutely fantastic - we worked with Sara-Lynn and she was amazing. throughout the planning process, Sara-Lynn offered advice and well thoughtout feedback. Day of the wedding, she made sure everything was perfect, and it was. Our guests raved about the food, the cake, and the venue as a whole - they didn't miss a thing and it really showed. Our day was absolutely everything we hoped for, and we would recommend The Priory to everyone!

Let me start by saying that Heather and Sarah Lynn are amazing!! These two women are extremely professional, well organized, work well together and are willing to help with anything and everything. Being an organized person myself, I was nervous to leave so many details on the day of the wedding up to someone else, but they made sure that everything was done as expected. Because of their hard work and attention to detail, our day went perfectly!!

The venue is absolutely beautiful in and of itself, but the level of service really makes it the perfect place for a wedding. Furthermore, the food goes above and beyond typical "wedding food." We offered chicken, pork and mushroom; all of which the guests were raving about!

We were a little skeptical about having our ceremony in the same room with guests already seated at their tables, but we received positive feedback from our guests that they loved this set up. We liked the convenience of it too.

The only negative I will point out is that the Priory Hotel did mess up some of our guests' reservations and the shuttle that we had reserved. The hotel is beautiful, but overall, it was rather unorganized. It is disappointing because the Grand Hall side of the operation is SO well run that we were expecting a similar level of service and organization from the hotel side. Overall, it was not a big deal, but there is a noticeable difference between the professionalism and attention to detail provided by the two different parts of the operation.

Overall a very nice place to have a wedding. Everything was almost perfect. My guests raved about the food.

We used the Grand Hall for our reception and it was flawless! Walter was a true joy to work with - extremely professional! He was very quick to respond to inquiries and worked with us on every detail!
The chefs at the Grand Hall are fantastic! The food was delicious! I was so happy that it wasn't the standard pigs in a blanket appetizers! The presentation and taste was great! We received a lot of compliments. We used the standard ivory linens and table settings provided by the Grand Hall. They were pressed and clean. We rented chair covers from a vendor recommended by the Grand Hall. The decorations in the Hall were minimal and classic - a few lighted trees. The Grand Hall worked very well with all of our vendors (florist, photographers, DJ). The bar services were excellent - great selection of beverages!
For a Saturday wedding, there was a minimum cost for the reception which I found a bit pricey. We did have to add a few extra appetizers to meet the minimum cost.

We also used the Priory for guest accommodations and reserved all but 1 of the guest rooms. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable. A continental breakfast was provided the morning after the wedding. It was very convenient to have the guest rooms so close to the reception. The staff was very nice and flexible - allowing guest to check in/out late or early. They also provided "pack n plays" for guests with young children. They thought of everything!

I highly recommend both the Grand Hall and the Priory. It was such a relief to have Walter and the wonderful staff handle everything!

My husband and I had our wedding at Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at the Priory, and it could not have been more perfect. We still regularly have people tell us that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to, and that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding. Heather, the sales coordinator, will walk you through the booking process and answer any questions you have, and Walter, the event coordinator, will do everything in his power to make your day exactly the way you want it. It was so nice to not have to worry about *anything* the day of the wedding because the Grand Hall (i.e. Walter - he truly is spectacular) took care of it all! You will not regret holding your wedding here...your guests will thank you!

Our wedding day was wondeful and the Grand Hall at the Priory had a lot to do with it. It was a gorgeous venue, the food was excellent, and they were able to accommodate my large guest list of 325. I worked with Walter and he was absolutely fantastic - veryyyyy accommodating!!!!

Outstanding wedding cake! We chose a two different types of cakes and they were each wonderful! Make sure that you discuss the size. We were a little disappointed in how small the cake actually was.

Overall it was a good experience, and they catered to most of our needs. I did notice during the reception that some of the small details I had asked for were not met.

Horrible service. Great food. Grand hall was beautiful but the hotel was trash. The price was astronomical for the quality of service you receive. The hotel was terrible. They kept getting mine and my guests rooms messed up. My hotel room was the “corporate suite” their nicest room. It was a creepy attic with NO AC. Also there is no elevator that takes you to that room so you have to go up a small angled staircase which is hard to do in a wedding dress. The shower ceiling was slanted so if you’re taller than 5’7 I wouldn’t recommend showering there. The food was delicious and the bakery was nice and helpful.

We were very disappointed with The Grand Hall at the Priory. We purchased the gold package, which is their high-end package. However, many things were far from "golden". The bar was closed for 90 minutes when it was supposed to be open. There was no champagne toast and wine service during dinner was not provided for the first hour of dinner service. The lighting package is of poor quality. Most importantly, the Grand Hall staff failed to follow through with many important details, including the set-up and display of our very expensive table centerpieces. Avoid this venue at all costs.
