Thorough, Reassuring, and Flexible
Bethany at Modern Kicks was a joy to work with throughout our entire wedding process. She is incredibly knowledgeable of all the different vendors (rentals, flowers, food / beverage, you name it) and really listened to us every step of the way. She was even able to get us a custom made bar. I would highly recommend Bethany and the Modern Kicks team to anyone planning their upcoming wedding. -

Modern Kicks not only delivered the perfect wedding, but made the process truly stress-free. Bethany was a total joy to work with. Our wedding required many moving parts- 250 guests in what was previously a field- and she made the whole thing look and feel like a breeze. She has stunning taste and vision that is aided by her vast amount of experience. Her recommendations were always excellent- we went with every vendor she suggested and some of our favorite touches were entirely her ideas. Even more impressive is her willingness and ability to lean into your ideas and execute them with more grace and style than you envisioned in the first place. We cannot recommend Bethany enough, we would choose her a thousand times over and wish there were more stars we could give. -

We would not change a thing about our wedding. All of our vendors were amazing, but without Bethany none of it would have happened as beautifully and seamlessly as it did. From our initial planing meeting, where she truly got who are as a couple, to her recommendations for great local vendors to the weeks leading up to the wedding with concerns about the weather, she set the tone for the best party we could have asked for. It ran so efficiently and we did not have to worry about a thing. We're very grateful for her attitude and talent! -

“Without Bethany, all this amazingness would not exist.” This was our standard line during the cocktail hour of our wedding. Our guests kept coming up to us in droves remarking how much they loved the details of the day so far and things were just getting started. To this day, we want to rewind and do it all over again. “It” would not have been possible without Bethany and her team. We wanted to create a unique celebration that would be remembered forever by our guests as one of the best weddings they’ve been to. Bethany helped us deliver the dream and vision into reality. From each phone call, site visit, vision board and design update - working with Bethany was stress-free, fun and exciting. Guests even told my wife, Liz, that she was the ‘most chill bride ever’ on our wedding day and, again, Bethany deserves a lot of the credit here. Her mastery of the day-of details were impeccable. The weather threw us a curveball and Bethany figured out how to reorganize the cocktail hour in a moment’s notice. There were countless details that would’ve gone overlooked and moments not capitalized on if we hadn’t had her help on our wedding day.
However, by far the best part of working with Bethany and her team was on the design of our wedding. With a few Pinterest boards, color selections and risks we wanted to take - Bethany’s vision created something we wouldn’t have thought of in a million years, turning a unique space (Basilica Hudson) into our fairytale for a night. We can’t recommend Bethany enough to all of our friends and family. From a balloon and disco ball installation above a black & white check dance floor to hidden ice cream cones in our photo booth backdrop, we’ll be dreaming about the best night of our lives for eternity. -

User2613130 Sent on 05/18/2016Out of the hundreds of decisions we made during our planning process, hiring Bethany as our day-of/month-of coordinator was by far the best. From the moment we met her over the phone, we were impressed at how friendly, organized, calm and collected she is, and how unlike others we talked to, she got right down to business and wanted to understand our plans, our aesthetic, and all the logistics right off the bat. Throughout the whole process, we felt like just the simple fact of working with her made us more organized, more calm, and more sure of what we were doing. We also deeply appreciated that she doesn't bill for the hour, she doesn't push you to use preferred vendors—she just quite simply does the work that it takes to make the event great. Looking back, I wince at the thought that we considered going with someone less expensive on paper, which would have undoubtedly cost us in terms of extras (which add up with other planners!), not to mention the quality of the outcome!
We had an extraordinarily logistically complicated—but still small-medium-budget—wedding day, we DIY-ed almost everything and moved guests between two locations throughout the day. During the planning phase, Bethany was great about staying in touch and handing off communications with our vendors, and she also gave excellent recommendations for the final details that we had overlooked!
From coordinating the rehearsal to the day of, Bethany was an impressive behind-the-scenes powerhouse. Everyone in our wedding party and our families who met her commented on how professional and wonderful she was. In describing how the day went, they talked about how "effortless" and "seamless" it all was—which just shows you how much work, thought and skill went into the coordination, because the amount of effort it takes to pull off "effortless" is astronomical. User2423375 Sent on 11/12/2015As a full time working "mother of the bride" I knew it would be virtually impossible for me to host my daughters "dream wedding" without the help of a professional planner. Modern Kicks was an absolute pleasure to work with. Bethany PIckard was professional and organized and was able to keep me calm during the entire process! (not an easy task) My daughter's vision for her wedding day was brought to reality with the help of Bethany and her team. From the initial stages of planning through the entire wedding weekend Bethany knew exactly where to be, how to help and what to do. I also achieved my vision for my daughters wedding - " enjoying the process from start to finish!" Hiring a great planning team like Modern Kicks is simply a necessity. The value of making informed decisions is priceless. Thank you to Modern Kicks for helping us execute what all of our guests referred to as "a fairytale dream wedding -simply perfect"
